“Delivers everything I expect”

Pros

The management console gives a really clear picture of what's happening across all endpoints in one place, so there's no need to dig through menus to figure things out. I do wish it loaded faster because I keep thinking how useful it would be to quickly open the dashboard on my phone and instantly check what's going on without turning it into a whole process. Still it handles both sides well. The centralized console is where I spend most of my time and the layout seems logical for managing a full fleet of devices.

Cons

Its documentation is incredibly thorough almost to the point of being too much. I'm glad it's there but when I need one very specific answer, I can end up reading several articles that still don't fully address the issue. Another minor frustration is that the alert noise can become excessive and it takes some time to fine tune it so only the truly important notifications come through. Adding new devices is not always as quick as I'd prefer either and sometimes policies take a little while to apply which leaves you wondering whether everything went through properly.

Pros

One thing I really like is how well it helps me protect project data. It's easy to use, runs quietly in the background and doesn't slow down traffic or affect system performance. I still get clear visibility into what's happening through the console and it supports malware protection without getting in the way of my work as an analyst.

Cons

From an analyst's perspective it has been especially useful for reporting and it comes with a good set of customizable options. The system performs reliably though the learning curve does require a bit of extra effort at the start. After getting familiar with it, the platform feels very accurate and close to perfect in most areas and it seems like something that could work well for even more customers.

“Pretty confusing account split”

Pros

The web portal is laid out in a way that makes sense, so getting around it is very easy. Items are named clearly and I can usually get where I need to go in just a few clicks. The device labeling is also really useful since I can tag systems however I want and then filter them by department, Windows version, device type or anything else that matters. Most of the remote actions I need such as updating ESET antivirus or shutting down a device are already built in. Creating custom tasks is not hard either. Because the interface is so simple to move through, using it never seems like a chore and the main dashboard gives our team a quick view of current issues which saves time and improves visibility. On top of that the custom labels make it much easier to build reports and dashboards for other people based on the information most relevant to them.

Cons

One thing that seems unnecessarily complicated is how endpoint management, user management, and license management are separated. ESET PROTECT, user administration and licensing all live on different domains and each one requires a separate login. I have run into situations where there was a license problem but before I could access the license manager, I first had to sign in to user management and grant myself permission to even view it. That whole process felt overly convoluted and unnecessary. I also suspect this separation is why newly added devices sometimes show license verification problems at first. Occasionally a new machine will not activate its ESET licenses right away because it takes time to communicate with the license manager and finish syncing. It is not a major problem but it does affect our process, since we usually install the software on the first day and wait until the next day to finish configuration so we can avoid those issues.

Having everything managed from one place has been the biggest plus for me. It makes it simple to keep all systems updated on my own and I can block USB drives whenever necessary. On top of that the learning software and the browser keep running without any lag, the console is easy to navigate and we connected it to our Windows domain with users and systems syncing without any problems.

Cons

At the beginning its policy settings were not very intuitive to me, so it took some time to figure out what each option actually did. That said the console has still been very helpful since I can quickly review everything without logging into each individual machine and the setup itself was simple as well.

From one place I can check every client to see whether it's current, push updates myself, control USB access and handle the rest without jumping between different tools. That single management console saves a lot of effort. The email alerts are also genuinely useful. Whether a threat gets caught automatically or needs user action, the system still sends a notification. When you're responsible for a large number of devices that kind of visibility makes a real difference.

Cons

Deep scans can absolutely bring a machine to a crawl, which is expected to some extent. On older or low-spec computers, they can slow things down so much that some applications are basically unusable during the scan. False positives happen more often than they should and chasing down quarantined files that turn out to be harmless just adds unnecessary busy work. On top of that the licensing cost is clearly higher than a lot of competing products and renewing the license is its own frustrating process.

Features such as web control, application blocking and endpoint monitoring have been especially helpful for limiting restrictions and preventing unwanted access. Also it works well alongside learning software and browsers without causing lag. The console is easy to navigate and gives a clear, quick view of system status without needing to dig through multiple sections. Overall it's a convenient way to monitor and manage multiple systems from one place.

Cons

Configuring it for different user groups can take quite a bit of time especially at the beginning. Once everything is in place, it runs well but the initial setup process is not the fastest. Even so performance remains stable when handling larger batches. Also it only integrates well with our internal tools and database systems.

One of the best things about this tool is the centralized management and clear visibility it gives across the environment. Also it is much lighter than a lot of other security tools out there.

The monitoring side of it is amazing and from the platform I can quickly see what's going on across all of our machines. The logs and alerts are reliable, access is simple and that makes regular day to day work a lot easier. Plus it runs very fast and doesn't get in the way of our development tools. The setup was also quick and fit into our workflow without needing many changes.

Cons

A few times it wasn't completely clear whether a task had actually finished. Since then the added features have made it easier to keep the system stable and they haven't added any extra work on my side.

Before this people across our company were installing all kinds of things they shouldn't have from random utilities and browser add-ons to even cracked software. Since rolling out this tool, we've really tightened that up with application control and web filtering and it's made a noticeable difference. We also integrated it with our helpdesk platform so alerts automatically become tickets instead of disappearing in email. The dashboard is another part I use daily because I can review it in less than a minute and still get the details I actually need.

Naming and grouping in it could definitely be more user friendly especially when you're handling several teams at the same time. Even so the remote management side has been genuinely useful and performs well in real-world use, particularly when it's paired with our cloud tools.

Working in an MSP, I am handling several client environments at the same time and one thing I really value is being able to roll out protection remotely while keeping an eye on alerts from different companies in one platform. The anti phishing layer and behavior based detection have also helped us catch a few suspicious files before they became bigger problems. It fits in well with our remote access and monitoring stack too which helps keep everything aligned and synchronized.

Cons

One area that can be frustrating is its licensing structure especially when you're managing multiple clients that all have different requirements. The live threat alerts are genuinely helpful and I have also connected it with our directory services and email filtering tools which makes overall control easier.
