The only upside for me was the low price. It's also a very small program, so it downloaded quickly for me.

This software basically wrecked my computer. Before this, I had never seen a blue screen of death and within just a couple of hours of trying to use it, I got two of them. Every time I moved a file or folder, it would complete the move and then freeze my computer so badly that even Task Manager couldn't do anything. I ended up stuck in a cycle of doing one action, forcing a hard reboot, doing another action and rebooting again. On top of that and maybe this is just part of how encryption works, it wouldn't let me use the shredder feature on encrypted files which makes me question the point of having it at all. The fact that the program is only 10.43 MB also makes it feel like there's a serious lack of proper development behind it, because problems this severe should not be happening.

If I had to mention one downside, it would be that a few things can be a bit difficult to understand in the beginning.

One thing I really appreciated was being able to try every version for free before deciding which one fit my needs best. After choosing the package that included USB and cloud protection, I was very satisfied with how manageable it was for me to use, especially as an older person. Encryption is something I consider a key part of my company's security and since I do not have much personal experience protecting files on my own, it gives me peace of mind knowing the software handles that for me. Compared with similar products, the pricing feels quite reasonable for me. Finding full bundles in the 30 to 60 dollar range was, for what I needed, very worthwhile. The mobile apps deserve credit too. I use both Android and Apple phones, so having a single app and account work across both makes staying protected much more convenient for me.

Cons

At the beginning, the instructions were not very clear. The interface also felt confusing to me at first, with so many options that I was hesitant to click around because I was not sure what each setting might do.

Using it to encrypt files, folders and even entire hard drives is really convenient for me. It also runs as a portable tool which makes it useful for protecting USB drives or folders stored on them. On top of that, the secure file shredding and other extra options add a lot of value for me.

Cons

One frustrating problem comes up when opening an encrypted folder and working with the files inside it. After finishing, the folder sometimes refuses to close again because it says some files are still open or in use, even when they actually are not. It seems like certain programs keep a background link to those files in memory and that ends up preventing the folder from closing properly. It's definitely an issue.

After using this software for the past year, I've really enjoyed it. It comes with strong security features, a very good UI design and the installation is simple for me. I can hide and protect all kinds of folders, files and drives on the system. Encrypting documents only takes a few simple steps. It also helps keep files safe from fraud and unwanted access. The overall security setup feels much stronger for me and even the trial version for PCs and laptops is very good.

One feature I really appreciate is the shredding tool which repeatedly writes 1s and 0s over deleted data so recovery becomes extremely difficult, if not impossible. The stealth options are also very useful. You can hide any trace of the app and bring it back only with a keyboard shortcut that you set yourself. Without knowing that exact key combination, nobody would even suspect the program is installed, let alone that it is hiding sensitive information. It doesn't just lock folders either, it actually makes them invisible, so no one even knows they exist. When you combine that with the option to remove any sign of the program from the system tray, it becomes even more discreet. You can also assign a startup key combo like Alt+9 so the software can only be launched that way. With no system tray icon, no desktop shortcut and nothing in the programs menu, it makes your protected folders feel extremely well hidden.

Cons

One annoyance comes up when reinstalling the software, because it sometimes fails to recognize that it's still the same single installation on the same computer and ends up invalidating itself. At that point, you have to contact support to sort it out. That can slow things down a bit, although customer service is usually pretty helpful. It also doesn't sync with or connect to its Pro mobile version which is a limitation. On top of that, there are occasional cases where the master password glitches and has to be reset. None of these issues are deal breakers but they do take extra time to fix.
