“Qualys for top-notch cybersecurity protection

Pros

The interface is really easy to use and I love how it has so many features for IT professionals and security. It's userfriendly, with solid vulnerability scanning, a huge library of software updates and helpful training videos and support.

Cons

It sometimes report false positive alerts and I think the configurations can be a bit advanced.

Pros

This is definitely one of the best tools for Vulnerability Assessment. It's super easy to use and works perfectly for recurring activities. Plus the integration with documents and the knowledge base for remediation is a great bonus.

Cons

Overall the price is quite high and client installation setup can be tricky.

Setting up, scanning environments, generating reports and analyzing the results is a breeze. I love the action recommendations based on the identified vulnerabilities, it gives a great overview of everything.

This product really shows how secure your assets are. It also has a patch management feature, which is great. The training videos and community are super helpful. I'm really pleased with it. It's easy to get started with and it just gets better the more you use it.

Sometimes new features can be confusing for me, it is usually due to consolidation.

The old and new UIs run side by side, which can be a bit hassle at times.

The ease of use is what I love, especially when you're managing multiple sites. The dashboard is amazing and honestly I think it's the best one out there.

Setting it up and its deployment can be complicated. Also, there's often a delay in updating information from the endpoints.

Customer support is a bit slow, It sometimes take up to 24 hours for the agent to show up in the portal.

It offers us great security coverage, it's scalable and so easy to use. Overall Qualys Cloud Security is a really powerful and complete security tool.

The cost can vary depending on your organization's size. Also I think configurations need to be done carefully for the best results.

Creating reports and scheduling analyses is really easy. Also the filtering data down to specific details is straightforward and fast.

Qualys is definitely the best VM tool available. It has features like easy deployment, a great UI, fantastic customer support and outstanding VM features especially scanning, asset management and reporting. The container security and policy compliance modules work perfectly.

Cons

There's no offline deployment so it's not an option for air-gapped environments.

I'm extremely satisfied. It's a full fledged suite and the flexibility with deployment options is great. Plus, the free updates are a huge bonus.

Integration between modules could be better and the patch management integration is a bit weak.

The console is really handy. It has all the modules like VMDR, PC, SCA, PM, FIM and you can use the same agent to perform all tasks and scan for vulnerabilities. It's really easy to use.

Cons

The reporting format could be cleaner, and adding/deleting controls needs to be easier.

Pros

This product has an excellent vulnerability scanner and it's super simple to set up and implement in an enterprise environment. It helps protect endpoints from ransomware, hacks, and vulnerabilities by patching them at the right time. The huge database for vulnerability detection and fixing is a great resource. The reports and dashboards are top-notch, and it's really impressive when we showcase them to management.

The Certificate Analyzer feature is useful, though I haven't used other software for comparison.

I can't unsubscribe from the vulnerability reports, even after contacting support, which is annoying.

It catches the most vulnerabilities from a variety of scanners and that's really important for us.

Cons

Reporting could definitely be better especially in terms of design. But this is common in most VM tools.

It is packed with features and managing it is super easy. Initiating scans is simple and there's no hassle, even for first timers like me.

The UI feels a bit outdated and the tool is slower to access compared to some competitors.

“A powerful VM solution with great potential

The solution provides a lot of detailed information. The Cloud agent runs as a service on endpoints and checks back with the cloud periodically (you can customize the interval). The interface is nice and clean and they are constantly updating things. It's easy to get a clear view of our security stance through the different modules.

Cons

There's no MSI file for GPO deployment. Also, the asset view module shows a different number of assets than the VMDR tab.

“Identifying vulnerabilities through scanning

Pros

Qualys really gives high quality reports that are also super easy to read. The agent is easy to install and I haven't run into any issues.

Cons

We've had some issues where scan attempts caused confusion or outages, especially when the scans weren't designed to handle them.

“It has great functions just need more work

Pros

This is one of the better solutions I've worked with. There are a few false positives but honestly, that's pretty common with vulnerability scanners. I'd recommend this tool as one of the top 3 scanners. Take the time to figure out what you need from the product and start building tasks and reports around that. It'll be super valuable. The interface is clean and the free online training with labs is a great way to learn. Deployment on both Windows and Linux endpoints is a breeze.

Cons

Configuring scans wasn't the easiest at first. I recommend doing the free online training before starting the deployment. Reporting could use some work, specially the look and feel of the PDF reports. The task scheduling was a bit limited, I wanted a scan to run twice a month but couldn't do it. Instead, I had to create two separate tasks. I also couldn't find an option to create custom usernames.

Pros

Based on my years of experience with vulnerability management tools, Qualys is the best one out there. It's super easy to set up especially the cloud solution, you can start scanning your environment within hours. The vulnerability database is constantly updated with the latest threats. There are tons of apps that expand its capabilities, like the asset management app, web application scanning, PCI compliance monitoring and more.

Cons

The price tag isn't the cheapest. Their licensing model is based on the IP scope, not the live IPs. For example, if you have three /24 networks with one server each, you end up paying to scan 765 IPs (255*3) instead of just 3 IPs.
