“efficient tool for permission management but complex setup
Pros
It's an efficient tool that ensures error-free permission management for Active Directory and AzureAD. Plus it streamlines processes and keeps track of them.
Cons
The implementation process is quite complex before you reach your desired outcome.

“Great customization!
Pros
There are many things I like about this product but the best feature is the customization it offers. In our organization we have tailored the Joiner, Mover and Leaver processes to our needs.
Cons
Occasionally I noticed the product behaves unusually due to caching issues but the team is currently addressing them.

“Advanced security features
Pros
We use SailPoint's identity analytics and reporting features to identify and reduce security risks and compliance violations. These powerful security tools are essential for us.
Cons
It is expensive and has a steep learning curve, our administrators need several weeks of training before they can fully access the system.

“Proactive features but struggles with large environments
Pros
I like the proactive features like policy violation alerts and multiple approval layers during request time. The reactive controls such as certifications are useful, especially when users actively engage.
Cons
It does not scale well for larger environments or when data is not perfectly clean. For example, we have many unlinked accounts which don't work well for certifications.

“Needs UI and documentation improvements
Pros
It is simple to connect to our internal applications to pull user entitlements for manager certifications. We use IdentityNow for certifications but we have disabled provisioning.
Cons
The UI and documentation could use some improvements. The search feature requires technical skills to use effectively and documentation is not easily accessible. However I have noticed that it is adding more resources to the support portal.

“Simplified user management
Pros
Managing user access used to be a complex and time-consuming task but with IIQ, it's much simpler and more user-friendly. Also we can easily manage and maintain users across different databases in our organization.
Cons
One issue I noticed is when provisioning access for Oracle users, if you provision users with lowercase, Oracle does not recognize them, which causes problems.

“Stable and flexible but takes time to adjust
Pros
With over 2,000 databases including Sybase and Oracle, SailPoint's IdentityIQ has been a game-changer. It lets us manage all user accounts from one place and simplifies the provisioning and deprovisioning process. IdentityIQ can also be set up with business rules to handle complex scenarios. The tool we used before was not as stable or flexible.
Cons
The interface takes some time to get used to and some of the features we requested are promised in future releases indicating there is still room for improvement.
