I've used Tripwire Enterprise to monitor system changes

Pros

It has a great in depth reporting feature and I use it to identify file change history as part of our application security process.

Cons

In the previous version, I found the management console a little hard to navigate.

It has been very helpful for us

Pros

We mainly use Tripwire Enterprise for file integrity monitoring with MITRE ATT&CK policies. Our monitoring center receives alerts and can respond efficiently whenever there's an unauthorized change.

Cons

The AD Auto Synchronization integration definitely needs improvement. I also think customer support could be better, we noticed a drop in support quality ever since the company transitioned to Fortra.

Great flexibilities

Pros

What I like most is the real-time alerts, the flexibility to add platforms and how it supports audits and standards. It works effectively for tracking operational changes.

Cons

In very rare cases involving systems with a login banner, integration isn't supported, which can be frustrating.

Great features and reporting

Pros

I use the detailed technical analysis reports to keep track of vulnerabilities across our environments. It also gives me solid options to apply different frameworks for setting baselines.

Cons

There really aren't many cons. The GUI could be a bit better but it's not a dealbreaker. I do wish the standard integration supported more devices though it does cover our main use cases.

Outstanding support from the team

Pros

Over the past year, we have upgraded our TE consoles and I honestly can't fault the support we received. Every concern and query I had was fully addressed and the consultant went above and beyond to make sure our systems were up-to-date. They even scheduled extra meetings after I requested more assistance.

Cons

For me, the agent versions are a key point. You mostly have to upgrade or push updates from the console manually and that's not something that just happens automatically, it would be a lot more helpful if it did.

Easy tool for reporting

Pros

The reporting is very clear and easy to use. It was fairly easy to set up and offers a lot of granularity. I really appreciate the ability to schedule reports and have them automatically sent to me or other users. It's a huge time saver and being able to share them directly with external auditors has made my life so much easier.

Cons

On the flip side, even though the reports are impressively granular, sometimes it's hard to extract exactly what I need. That said, I think with a bit more training, this would probably become less of an issue.

Pros

Even though we have a limited use case for this application, it does exactly what it promises. Our teams are happy managing it.

Cons

So far both my team and I have had a very positive experience engaging with the app and managing it overall.
