Not ideal for manufacturing or assembly tasks

Pros

The database is really strong and syncing it with QuickBooks is pretty smooth and a simple task. As I have not faced any trouble doing that.

Cons

The recent updates have been a major headache as they added extra steps to basic tasks and made the interface more confusing. And now even simple actions take way more clicks and it's harder to figure out what we are supposed to do.

Works well all together

Pros

It fits perfectly with what we do. We are in the waterworks supply business and this tool works great for our specific needs.

Cons

Well it might look a bit old-school but honestly we do not mind the outdated design because the system itself runs smoothly and gets the job done.

Do thorough research before considering this

Pros

I really like that I can set custom pricing levels for each customer and they show up automatically when creating quotes or orders. The landed cost by weight feature was also really helpful.

Cons

Managing inventory especially doing physical counts, just did not function properly. The accounting side did not sync right with QuickBooks either. Their CRM felt like nothing more than a basic note section. Terms across quotes, sales, invoices and reports were all over the place. Most reports were pretty useless so we had to rely on QuickBooks or spend extra on Crystal Reports and a developer to get what we needed. Plus it still runs on 32 bit which makes it tough to connect with other modern systems. Figuring out AR issues through the customer/invoice history was a struggle. Worst part is that when things break or need updates due to Microsoft or QuickBooks changes, they won't fix it unless you buy an expensive service plan. After spending thousands just to get it working again it really felt like we were trapped in a poor system. They make their real money off overpriced support and the attitude from their side was beyond frustrating.

Packed with a lot of valuable features

Pros

Acctivate comes packed with all the tools we need to handle inventory like tracking stock, managing orders and overseeing purchases. Plus the way it links up with QuickBooks makes everything flow nicely between our inventory and financials. I also like how customizable it is as we have been able to tailor the fields, reports and overall workflow to suit our business and how we operate.

Cons

The software can be overwhelming at first especially if you are new to this type of system. Also there are lots of tools but it takes time to really learn how to use them properly. The mobile access is also pretty limited which is not ideal if you need to manage inventory on the go. And while it syncs well with QuickBooks trying to link it with other apps or systems was tough and required extra work or customization.

An excellent tool, looking forward to updates

Pros

Their support team has been awesome. Anytime we have needed help, they have been responsive and easy to work with.

Cons

There are a few features missing right now that would really make a difference for how we operate. So I feel like adding them could make the software way more useful.

Sufficient but could be much better

Pros

The inventory tracking tools are solid, pretty reliable and get the job done well.

Cons

Well the reporting tools in Acctivate really don't meet our needs out of the box. We had to spend a lot on custom development just to pull meaningful detailed reports. It honestly feels like the software was built by folks who have not had to use it in real, daily operations. Plus a lot of the features are clunky and not very user friendly and there are definitely bugs throughout the system. We have given feedback on simple things that would improve workflow like sorting sales orders by SKU or importing POs but Alterity has not taken action on any of it.

Just fine

Pros

We are able to handle purchasing, monitor our inventory, follow purchase orders and keep tabs on product costs all in one place.

Cons

The search tool is frustrating and unreliable as it crashes way too often especially when you are trying to find something quickly.

Affordable but not so amazing

Pros

Acctivate helped modernize the way we handle sales and inventory and we were able to do it without breaking the bank.

Cons

There is not enough flexibility when it comes to managing vendors and the options provided are really limited. The daily QuickBooks sync does not go smoothly either such as tax rounding in Canada especially causes issues. Also we have had to put internal processes in place just to work around these constant problems.

Outstanding!

Pros

It is pretty user friendly and makes it easy for us to manage orders, track stock levels and build out bill of materials. Plus it has a bunch of other helpful tools.

Cons

Getting it set up was simple and anytime we have needed help, the Acctivate team has been responsive and ready to assist with whatever came up.

Good fit for us

Pros

Getting everything set up did not take much of our time and learning how to use it day to day was pretty smooth. Also it is easy to keep things running.

Cons

I feel like the dashboard could be a lot easier to set up as for now resizing and placing report panels is clunky. Some of the dropdowns do not make much sense at first but once you get used to them, it is manageable.

Terrible customer service

Pros

The interface is neat and not overloaded with clutter. I can get to everything I need from one screen which keeps things efficient.

Cons

Updating inventory is more complicated than it needs to be as there are just too many steps and screens. Also their understanding of QuickBooks is limited which does not help us much.

Failed to deliver as promised

Pros

Acctivate CRM side of it works fine and the sales workflow feels logical but it does not really stand out from other CRMs I have used. Still there are some helpful features that make it easy to look up customers and their order history. Also there are lots of reports but customizing them is not as simple as we have seen in other systems.

Cons

The system feels really outdated and sluggish. It glitches often and usually right when you are in the middle of something important. Navigation is not smooth too and it is not beginner-friendly. We even paid a couple thousand dollars for an add-on and still the support team kept delaying the process. Once the refund period ended they admitted the feature never actually worked and had been oversold. On top of that their team accidentally duplicated our inventory during setup which has caused long term issues. And simply do not expect a fast reply when you open a support ticket as you will be waiting a while.

High-performance software

Pros

It helps me stay on top of inventory without any stress as I always know what is in stock.

Cons

To be honest it is not the most user friendly software in the beginning but after getting the proper training we all find it pretty easy to use.
