“Way better than it looked
Pros
People often say you get what you pay for and honestly that depends on how you look at things. My suggestion is that just test it out yourself first before forming any strong opinions.
Cons
The task takes way too long to finish manually. And honestly I think adding some automation would make things a whole lot smoother and faster.

“Helps us stay focused on what actually matters
Pros
We recently wrapped up a project switching to a new ecommerce setup and went with ClearSale. It was pretty easy to plug into Shopify and anytime we had a question, their support team got back to us quickly. Honestly ClearSale's is amazing as it freed up our in house team from repetitive tasks so they can focus on higher-impact stuff now.
Cons
Well we definitely have fewer chargebacks to deal with now which is great but it would have been nice if it gave us access to that kind of data on the platform. Also if our admin team had visibility it'd help with ongoing improvement and it could also see which orders actually turned into chargebacks.

“Decent tool
Pros
I had not used ClearSale in any of my previous roles so it was all new to me. But I found it pretty cool to explore and definitely picked up some new knowledge while working with it.
Cons
Ever since the update I have not been able to handle chargebacks the same way I used to. And it's been kind of frustrating.

“Works okay but not outstanding
Pros
There is no monthly minimum fee and both the setup and integration processes were prerry well for us.
Cons
The fraud checks on orders are slower than expected. Their prices are also higher than some other providers. Plus you don't get a refund for the bank fees on chargebacks and getting reimbursed can take a month or more. Also I feel like their customer support could really use some work.

“Worth every single penny
Pros
I feel way more confident making sales now knowing ClearSale has our back when it comes to order verification.
Cons
Overall the service is amazing. Just a couple of small things I would like to change such as the review time for orders varies a lot as some go through in seconds, others take over 12 hours. Most companies won't mind but since we ship same day, this slows us down a bit. Also it would be helpful to have invoices attached in emails.

What really stands out for me is the pricing and the protection they offer. Also the insurance side of it feels fair and honestly pretty amazing.
Cons
The customer service is just bad. It does not meet the standards we expected at all.

“Works perfectly against chargebacks
Pros
From day one the service has been excellent. The team responds fast, explains things clearly and supports us throughout from installation to general questions even offering helpful tips. So I will give it solid 10 out of 10.
Cons
So far I have not had to deal with refund ID issues here in Mexico which is good but it would be better to have access to that info just in case I ever need it.

They had an easy team to work with. Also I find it quite easy and quick to get started with it. Plus the customer support is great and it has some amazing features and a smooth integration process overall.
Cons
There are only a couple of small things I would change but nothing major. Even as a smaller business I feel like they have really helped protect us and have been well worth the investment.

“Cheap and very helpful
Pros
Here is what I love about ClearSale. It checks every order to let you know if it's legit. If they approve one and it still gets charged back, they cover it and refund you. Any time we have had questions, we got help quickly. Setup was just a few clicks and it works seamlessly with Shopify. Plus you can manually exclude any order from coverage in the app and won't be charged for those. Moreover they customize your plan to your average order value and volume so it stays cost-effective. The biggest perk s that we do not have to chase customers anymore to confirm orders.
Cons
Using it for a while and have not come across any issues as far as I am concerned.

What impressed me most is they were willing to work with us even though we are a small startup without lots of sales. On top of that their portal is quite user-friendly if you ever need to pull up order info.
Cons
Honestly I did not run into a single issue with it. But I'd gladly work with them again in the future.

The support and review teams are always quick to respond which I really really like.
Cons
It requires a lot of manual input. The portal is not great and has not improved much over the years even with feedback. Also we have had several false alerts and some order approvals can drag on for days. Plus you have to manually submit chargebacks for reimbursement. With Shopify and PayPal offering chargeback protection now this feels a bit unnecessary.

“Fraud issues are behind us now
Pros
It all works automatically like orders go straight to ClearSale the moment they come in. It has saved us from fraud issues and helps us process orders that our ecommerce platform might have otherwise blocked. Means we get to keep selling without wasting time manually checking things.
Cons
When we are in a race with other vendors for inventory, the wait time for fraud clearance can slow us down and cost us the stock. That said it usually clears in under two hours so it only gets annoying once in a while.
