“The support service needs to improve”
Pros
It looks great in theory, but it doesn't perform as expected.
Cons
The customer support team has been quite passive, showing little responsibility or initiative. I've been trying to create an account for the past two months without success!

“Innovative eCommerce software for developers”
Pros
As an ecommerce developer, I can choose to use a git-based workflow for deploying on Swell's hosting, or I can use a CDN-backed provider like Netlify or Vercel. The platform also includes a headless theme powered by Nuxt and Vue, which sets it apart from other headless solutions that require building the front end from scratch. Moreover, Swell allows me to create unlimited product variants and attributes, which solves product variant limitations I've had with platforms like Shopify and BigCommerce. This is a fully headless solution.
Cons
A more powerful CMS, enhanced customer portal, and multilingual support would be beneficial.

“It's great for setting up a marketplace”
Pros
The headless theme was a huge advantage, saving me from hiring an expensive designer. It was already well-configured, meaning I didn't need to build the frontend from scratch, which saved me weeks of development time. We were able to launch much faster than I originally anticipated. Swell's use of modern technology, rather than outdated frameworks, is a huge benefit. The ability to deploy on Netlify and Heroku is also a plus.
Cons
The ability to handle multiple currencies is essential, though I understand it's already on the product roadmap.

“Simple to quickly set up a headless store”
Pros
Swell offers an integrated headless theme, which meant I didn't have to code the front end. Even though I'm a front end developer, I didn't want to start from zero if I didn't need to. The beauty of Swell's solution is that I could fully customize the brand experience while benefiting from the out-of-the-box basics. The store was live in less than a week, proving how much time and resources were saved. The developer-friendly workflow allowed me to use git and code however I wanted, unlike Shopify. I also appreciated being able to fully customize the checkout experience.
Cons
No updates yet. I'll keep you informed. Thanks!

“smooth migration and fast setup”
Pros
It is fantastic! We managed to migrate our website from Shopify to Swell in just a few weeks without any issues. Our developer was able to make it unique by starting with their storefront option as a base. Since the platform is built on JavaScript, he was able to spend more time creating new features and animations rather than starting from scratch.
Cons
It would be helpful to have more comprehensive documentation for tackling complex problems.

“Affordable and headless ecom software”
Pros
Swell is the perfect solution for B2B marketplaces, particularly in the scientific equipment sector. It's significantly more affordable compared to other high end enterprise ecommerce platforms. The strong network of agency partners with expertise helped us execute the project smoothly. Swell provided a roadmap, identified important milestones and challenges, and helped us plan everything to completion. We were able to launch the full marketplace in under three months, much faster than expected. Swell can be managed by a smaller team and doesn't require ongoing maintenance like Magento or SAP Hybris. Its flexible architecture enables extensive customization, and it can be operated by business, sales, marketing and finance teams without needing constant developer support.
Cons
Honestly I don't have any complaints. This platform has far exceeded my expectations, providing incredible value, and the support team has been fast, resourceful, and effective in resolving issues.

“The best headless software available”
Pros
We chose Swell because it allows us to offer flexible subscription payments without being tied to one payment provider. Swell also supports building marketplaces and preorders, offering the flexibility we need for future sales models. The built-in headless theme was also a major advantage, so we didn't need to build the frontend ourselves.
Cons
Multilingual and multicurrency support would be great, but I've been told these features are likely arriving in February 2021, which will address this issue.

“Perfect for handling preorders and subscriptions”
Pros
Previously I used Kickstarter and Indiegogo for preorders but when I wanted to move to an ecommerce store quickly, I had to switch to Shopify. After discovering Swell, I realized it could handle preorders and seamlessly transition into a full ecommerce platform without changing systems. I also wanted to accept subscription payments without relying on plugins, and Swell allows me to do that. Overall, it's one of the most flexible solutions available. Other advantages include not having Kickstarter or Indiegogo branding on the site, owning my email list, and being able to communicate with backers freely. The only downside is that Swell is a developer-oriented platform, which means I need to code any customizations myself using a GIT workflow. But for developers like me, this flexibility is invaluable, and it's rare to find this level of customization in other ecommerce platforms.
Cons
If you're looking for a discovery feature like the one on Kickstarter for preorder campaigns, you won't find that with Swell. You will need to promote your project directly to your audience, but if you already have an established customer base and want a fully customized solution, Swell is a great choice.
