This practice management software provides my office with an effortless way to integrate essential practice management statistics with customizable health management options. It connects seamlessly to my Dexis, my MindRay surgical monitors, implant inventory tracking via 2D scanner, electronic verification of dental benefits for numerous dental plans, NEA Fast-Attach, Lexicomp (with current updates),all accessible with a single click on the customizable toolbar. If I have a question or an issue, their exceptionally knowledgeable support team is available from 8am EST (5am Pacific) until late into the evening. I receive regular updates. I've used other software programs for practice management and EMR; however, this one excels in every aspect. My conversion was well-planned, resulting in minimal downtime. Their ability to schedule trainers and support staff on the east coast simplifies the process.

Cons

I'm disappointed to see some negative reviews online and don't understand why. Is it outdated hardware or undertrained team members? I suggest anyone having trouble with an older version to check out the updated V18 and its features. It's not a cheap option, but I believe it's the best customizable software for periodontal offices available.

I appreciate the continued improvements and added features. The support team is very knowledgeable and helpful. Perio charting gives me the information I need in a format that is clear and adaptable to my preferences. DSN is my third office management program, and as a company, they have always provided exceptional support, surpassing any other dental software company I've dealt with in over 35 years of practice.

DSN-Exec is easy to navigate, has some features specific to periodontics, the scheduling features are okay, and communication with referrals can be tracked.

Customer support is awful. There are too many error readings that cause the program to shut down, resulting in loss of information and causing a big inconvenience. I had to switch to OpenDental and have been very satisfied.

Pros

From an aesthetic standpoint, versions 14 and 16 (which just came out) are better than version 11. The scheduler is okay, not great, but okay. They've updated some features that are impressive but still lack others that should be included.

Cons

I use Perio Exec, which caters to Periodontists. Honestly, of the three software programs I've used as a student, resident, and practice owner, this is the worst. Their newest software lags, even on the highest equipment they specified to meet their requirements, and for 2017 technology, it's a disappointment in terms of features. There are some cool features, but they're missing some "obvious" ones. It's pretty confusing.

My experience is very bad with this software, so, nothing positive. :)
