“report builder and simple syncing
Pros
We found that it connects really well with our other systems which made integration feel smooth rather than forced. It was also simple to roll out across all of our teams, with minimal disruption or lengthy training. And we absolutely love the report-building features as they're flexible and powerful enough to give us real insights without needing a data expert. It's a tool that works with us not against us.

“simple data connections
Pros
We can connect it with our data sources without any hassle. Setting up and building the financial models does take a bit of work upfront but once everything is in place, we find it very manageable to maintain.
Cons
Until very recently (January 2025), collaboration for financial modeling was one area where the tool felt behind. They've now released a feature that looks like it will more than cover this need for budgeting processes going forward.

“reliable month-end reporting
Pros
Right from the start we found the built-in metrics and setup options to be great. Setting up the models was easy and it's been simple for us to maintain them and make quick changes when needed. Canvas reporting has become our go-to source of truth for reporting at every month-end close.

“helpful analytics but limited functionality
Pros
Having all of our data pulled together in one place has made our analysis really insightful. We're now able to compare metrics much faster, whereas putting those views together used to take us a lot more time.

We found the platform easy to pick up regardless of skill level and the integration process is just as simple. It's very convenient for us to bring data into the system and quickly turn around and present it or run analysis without much hassle.

“powerful reporting and forecasting
Pros
Real-time updates make dashboards and reporting much simpler for us to manage. After a report is built, we can change the time period to create another version very easily. The modeling and forecasting tools also feel simple to us, while still being powerful enough for most needs. For instance, we can take an existing expense line and project it forward using different formula methods, whether that's keeping it flat, increasing it by a percentage or tying it to another driver like headcount. Overall it offers us a wide range of capabilities.
Cons
There's definitely a bit of a learning curve when it comes to building formulas and connecting different parts of a financial model. The formula syntax is also different from Excel or Google Sheets although the support site includes plenty of examples so it's still possible to figure out quite a lot without too much outside help.

Pros
One standout feature for us is the lockdown functionality especially for keeping version control in check. It also fills dynamic charts quickly which makes it much easier for us to present updates to stakeholders.

“accurate modeling with excellent integrations
Pros
What stands out most to us is how fluid and interactive the modeling feels. It can stay very simple when that's all we need but it also scales up well for more complex modeling. It's also not limited to finance which makes it useful for our operational needs too. On top of that, we've found the integrations to be excellent and consistently delivered on time.
Cons
I honestly don't have any real complaints. The only thing worth noting is that it does require a great understanding of your internal master data. That said this can actually be a benefit especially if your finance team needs a better grasp of how its data connects to the broader business.

“Clean command center visibility
Pros
Right away, we noticed the clean interface and it connects really well with SFDC, Netsuite and Maxio which has helped us create a central command center and a single source of truth for the whole organization. The Canvas workspace is especially useful for our quick ad hoc analysis and it gives our functional leaders near real-time information so everyone can stay aligned and work from the same data. Connecting everything to Netsuite, SFDC and Maxio was also very fast for us which made it easier to validate the actual reporting data.
Cons
There's not much to complain about at this point. We only recently went live with the solution and are currently in the middle of preparing our FY25 budget so we're still learning the full range of what it can do. The formula syntax is also very similar to Excel which has made the transition fairly simple.

“fantastic for finance reporting
Pros
Month-end finance work and reporting have become much more aligned for us with this tool. The reporting automation and the integrations with our existing systems have cut down a lot of the time and effort we used to spend on manual tasks especially when handling multiple entities that need congreatation. Being able to check key metrics quickly and in real time is a huge benefit for us and having instant access to current data helps us act faster and make decisions with confidence. We've also found the IT team to be knowledgeable, responsive and genuinely helpful in making sure we get the most value from the platform.
Cons
Getting fully comfortable with the platform does take some time at the beginning especially if you want to make full use of the more advanced features and customization options. That said the support team and the knowledge base tutorials are helpful and clear. There's also still room for improvement when it comes to adding some of the forecasting functionality that finance teams are typically used to which I hope will continue to be developed over time.

“interactive canvases with limits
Pros
A feature that works particularly well for us is the ability to build and share canvases that include multiple charts and reports so we can set everything up once and then distribute the data in a way that other employees can explore without putting the original source data at risk. We also really appreciate the configuration option that lets us switch between a chart and a table without losing the settings, along with the ability to apply date ranges across every report on a canvas.
Cons
At the same time, the no-code approach does put some limits on customization compared with a platform that gives you at least some coding flexibility. Custom metrics support formulas but the available functions are still far more limited than what you'd get in a tool like Excel. The articles and webinars cover a lot but there are still gaps when it comes to building functions inside metrics and although the support team is very friendly, our more technical questions haven't really led to much progress or many useful solutions.

Pros
For us, the tool delivers quick time-to-value, with fast ROI through reporting and business insights. That matters a lot for our team since we don't have a lot of dedicated FP&A resources. On top of that, the integrations with multiple solutions, including QuickBooks, let us handle congreatation across several entities.

Pros
Building a new model in the platform has been a good experience for us because we can drill all the way down to the account category which is really useful. We've also found the customer support team to be very helpful, as they consistently answer our questions. The integrations add value too and a lot of that comes down to the great support behind them.

“fantastic fit for saas planning
Pros
It doesn't take us much time or training to begin using this effectively. It covers all the usual FP&A needs and comes with a strong set of out-of-the-box metrics and dashboards that are especially valuable for our SaaS business. Since the platform was clearly designed with SaaS companies in mind, that played a big part in why we ultimately selected it.
Cons
Since the company is still relatively early in its journey, there are a few missing features and integrations although none of that was serious enough to stop us from moving forward. On the positive side, their team is very receptive to customer feedback and seems committed to following through on the product roadmap.

“Helpful team and convenient dashboards
Pros
From sales and implementation through customer success and account management, we've found the support team is always there to make sure we have what we need and they're genuinely very helpful. The platform itself feels user-friendly and simple so it's not difficult for us to navigate. Once we set up the dashboards, they update automatically based on our reporting cadence, covering both actuals and forecasts.
Cons
Few drawbacks aren't really issues with the platform itself but they're still worth mentioning for anyone considering it. You need clean data coming from your source systems like ERP, CRM and HRIS, you need enough time available to learn the platform and actually use it well and it can take a while to move away from relying so heavily on Excel.

“integrated reporting and forecasting platform
Pros
Bringing together GL, CRM, HRIS and other data sources has been extremely valuable for our reporting. It gives us a much better view of both past performance and future planning. Having data integrated from several systems has made a real difference and reporting and forecasting the business is far more manageable than when we depended on spreadsheets. We were also able to launch some basic out-of-the-box reporting fairly early in the process which was a big plus for us. On top of that, we've found the support team to be very responsive and helpful throughout implementation and whenever questions come up.

The AI question tool has also been very useful especially when it includes a supporting video.

“easy setup with simple data connections
Pros
We found it easy to get started with the platform because the interface is simple and easy to follow. It connects with multiple systems and pulls data in easily which saves us a lot of time. After learning the basics, moving around the platform feels simple to me. As the primary user working in it weekly, that usability matters a lot. Their support team has also been very responsive and for quick questions, I've found the chatbot genuinely helpful.
Cons
The product has definitely been evolving and over the several years I've used it, I've seen some major improvements. That said there are still a few frustrations. I have to unpublish models before making edits which makes it hard to update a model while also viewing the canvas at the same time. Another limitation is that data coming in from source systems can't be edited. I understand the need to maintain consistency but there are cases where I'd want to adjust something like an employee's department for modeling purposes even if it differs from what's listed in our HRIS.

Pros
We found the initial setup very easy. Setting up the API connections was simple enough for us to handle without needing help from our development team. The onboarding team was helpful, knowledgeable and quick to get the platform up and running and they also guided us well through how to navigate it.

“Reliable financial reporting and support
Pros
Bringing all of our financial systems together in one place has made it much simpler for us to build accurate metrics and models that also look polished and professional. The setup process went really well and after two years of using it, we've found it continues to work reliably for our monthly and quarterly reporting, both for internal use and external stakeholders. Customer support has also been consistently excellent for us, whether through the human team or AI. We recently needed help troubleshooting reporting differences between HubSpot and the platform and the team responded quickly and helped us get everything aligned correctly across systems.

“enterprise wide metrics and analytics tool
Pros
Bringing together data from our GL in Sage, CRM in HubSpot and HRIS in Paylocity has been a huge win for building an enterprise-wide metrics dashboard. It removes a ton of manual effort from putting together recurring metrics and charts like pipeline, revenue, CAC, win rate, EBITDA and more. On top of that, we've received outstanding support from Max and the IT team.
Cons
On the bigger-picture side, I'd love the ability to pull in data from our data warehouse. That would let us move some metrics out of Looker and into this platform instead. “Fast and clear financial planning solution
Pros
We were able to get our opex and department-level reporting set up incredibly fast. It gives us a lot of visibility into how expenses and headcount are tracking and headcount planning has been very easy. Many of our department leaders find it much easier to work with than the Google Sheets we were relying on before. As the main admin, I'm in it every week and it has made budget refreshes and BVA reporting much simpler for me.
Cons
We still rely on Google Sheets and Excel for the more complex parts of our modeling especially revenue because they give us more flexibility and can be updated faster. We also go back to Google Sheets anytime we need people outside of Finance to leave comments or suggest changes since that kind of collaboration isn't really there. “powerful finance transformation platform
Pros
Stepping into a VP of Finance role at a SaaS startup meant I had to rebuild and modernize our entire financial process from the ground up. When this platform came onto my radar, I was already aware of it and curious but it didn't take long for me to see that it addressed the exact points my new company was dealing with. Moving ahead with it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made for advancing our finance function. Every person I've worked with across Sales, Implementation and Support has been genuinely helpful and thoughtful. Joe, one of the co-founders even took time to speak with me personally and share the story behind why the platform was created. That kind of personal attention really showed me this team cares about helping finance departments succeed. At this point I spend more time in this system than in our ERP, HRIS and all our other data tools combined. It pulls together the information I need and transforms it through powerful backend logic into insights I can actually use. I've relied on it to create dashboards for both internal reporting and external stakeholders and its modeling functionality has completely changed how I handle forecasting. I honestly can't recommend it enough and it feels intentionally designed from the ground up by finance leaders who truly understand what finance leaders need.
Cons
There's a lot of power packed into this platform and with that comes the usual tradeoff between simplicity and depth. It took my team and me a few weeks to really understand the full range of what the software could do but once everything clicked, we were able to take full advantage of it.

“advanced forecasting with simple integrations
Pros
Switching from Excel-based forecasting to this has been a big step up for our SaaS financial planning. It makes forecasting much more easy for us and the background calculations are presented in an Excel-like way so they feel familiar and simple. The integrations with multiple systems also make our metric reporting far more powerful. On top of that, we've had excellent support, the team is very responsive and our CRM contact is extremely knowledgeable. Since the staff come from finance backgrounds, they genuinely understand what we're trying to accomplish and are always very helpful.
Cons
Being based in the UK, the time difference does affect support availability a bit. We do have overlap during my afternoon so it's not usually a major problem but it does mean I wouldn't get truly instant support if I needed it. “responsive support and flexible forecasting
Pros
We've found that one of the best parts of using Parsel is how simple it is to maintain and update after the initial setup is complete. The customer service and account management teams have been incredibly responsive and helpful. On top of having strong documentation for common questions and how-to guidance, they're also quick to reply to our emails and more specific one-off questions whenever we need support. It also comes with a wide range of prebuilt metrics and forecasting methods which makes it very usable for us right away without having to build everything from scratch, while still giving us enough flexibility to tailor it to our business. The direct ERP integrations are another big plus since they make it easy for us to keep actuals updated alongside rolling forecasts.
Cons
Implementation can be more challenging or take more time depending on how your business is structured and what your needs are. It can also be an adjustment since the platform is separate from Excel so the transition may not feel as natural at first for teams that are very used to working in spreadsheets. There's a bit of a learning curve as well when it comes to getting fully comfortable with the formula logic and some of the nuances across the tool. That said the available documentation is very helpful so it's usually something you can work through without too much trouble.

“automated reporting game changer
Pros
Bringing this in completely changed how we handle automated reporting. It connects straight to all of our core systems, HRIS, CRM and accounting which made it an obvious choice while I was building out the FP&A function. We were able to rebuild our financial model and it has freed up a huge amount of my time so I can focus more on analysis instead of manually updating reports for hours. I've also been really pleased with every stage of working with them, the sales team was highly invested and focused on what was best for us, the CSM ensured implementation went smoothly and the account manager and support team have continued to provide the help we need now that we're live.
Cons
Since it's still a younger company, the product is clearly continuing to develop and there are a few capabilities that other platforms already have which aren't available here yet. That includes more advanced and polished reporting, built-in reporting functionality within Excel and mobile app support. Even with those gaps, the team has consistently shown that they listen to customer feedback so I'm confident those features will show up on the future roadmap.

“Convenient forecasting and collaboration
Pros
Having a well-structured data model behind financial projections really matters to us and this platform makes mapping and managing that model incredibly easy. It's a powerful tool with an simple interface that removes a lot of the complexity from forecasting. On top of that, we can easily share and collaborate with executives, department heads and contributors while still maintaining proper version control and permissions.
Cons
One area that could be improved is revenue modeling especially with more out-of-the-box templates. That said the revenue modeler is extremely flexible and can still be customized to support just about any business requirement.

“fantastic forecasting and support
Pros
Built with SaaS businesses like ours in mind, we've found this platform really stands out as an all-in-one finance tool. It's simple for us to navigate, very user-friendly and the forecasting and reporting capabilities are excellent. On top of that, we've had a great experience with their Customer Success and Support team, they respond quickly, know the product inside and out and are genuinely understanding when we have questions or challenges.
Cons
Honestly there's not much to complain about. The features keep improving although the product can occasionally feel a little slow at times. Even so, it's clear they're continuously working on it and I don't have any major complaints right now.

“Great data sources and support
Pros
It brings together several of the most important data sources we rely on. The interface is very user-friendly making calculations simple for us and metric visualization clear and easy. We've also found support to be quick to respond and genuinely helpful.
Cons
A lot of the features still feel like they have not fully reached the level they should. Our reports and models often end up missing something that would make them feel complete, whether that is better reporting formats or more depth in the modeling process which currently feels too superficial.

“powerful data integration payoff
Pros
Bringing together multiple disconnected data sources in one place has saved us a meaningful amount of time during month-end close, KPI tracking and when using our data for forward-looking strategic decisions. The rollout was also very easy and their customer success team stayed closely involved to make sure we were getting real value from the platform right away.
Cons
There's definitely a bit of a learning curve for anyone coming from Excel or Google Sheets since this is a completely different system to get used to. Even so, the training materials were detailed and well structured. If you can set aside the time to really learn how to use it well, the payoff is worth it.

“time-saving budgeting insights
Pros
One of the biggest benefits for us is how much time it saves across annual budgeting, vendor spend analysis, month-end close reviews, building new financial modeling scenarios and analyzing historical trends. The product gets updated often and those updates usually focus on improvements that matter most. Customer support has also been quick to respond and it gives us visibility into areas we didn't consistently track before especially around sales metrics.
Cons
It can be a little glitchy now and then which sometimes slows me down when I need to run a quick analysis. In some ways, it still isn't as flexible or dynamic as Excel which can be limiting for a business like ours with a more complex revenue model. The integration options also aren't very extensive yet so we still have to handle both our HRIS and CRM data manually.

“fast setup and responsive support
Pros
I started seeing value from this platform very quickly. Integrations with ERP, CRM and HRIS were set up fast and fed into prebuilt dashboards and SaaS metrics right away. There's also great flexibility for forecasting and scenario planning. I used their professional services team to build the model initially which had me live within a few weeks and since then I've been able to maintain and expand it myself because it feels simple if you're used to Excel. The onboarding process was organized and efficient and the support team has been very quick to help with any questions.
Cons
Outside of the built-in dashboards, reporting is still mostly handled through CSV exports that need additional formatting in Excel or Google Sheets. I usually try to keep users working from the dashboards whenever I can but for things like board meeting slides, I still end up pulling the data down and formatting it manually.

“Quick setup with strong support
Pros
We found the initial setup very easy and the platform delivered value quickly after implementation. Setting up automatic integrations was simple for us and the support and customer success team has been excellent throughout.
Cons
The only catch is that integrations are much less easy if your existing systems aren't organized and clean.

“Real time updates and easy adoption
Pros
One of the best parts for me is how changes update in real time whenever I make them. The product is easy to use so everyone on my team can learn it quickly. I also like that new features are being added regularly.
Cons
One area that could still get better is keeping the UI approachable for everyone.

“tidy dashboard with custom metrics
Pros
From the dashboard, I find the analytics excellent and it really helps me log in and instantly see all the key metrics that matter when I'm running a business. I also appreciate the ability to create custom metrics which makes it simple for me to report on just about anything I need.
Cons
Figuring out how to slice the data across different data objects can be a bit confusing at first.
