estimating made fast

Pros

Capturing vendor costs in the system has made our estimating much faster and more accurate. We also appreciate having several navigation points and buttons throughout the platform which makes moving around the system convenient. Exporting data is simple. The variety of dashboards is especially useful because it lets us look at the business from the different roles our small company has to cover. Support has been quick and detailed whenever we've had questions, requested changes or needed help. We're also really happy with the traffic control feature and the tracking tools and we expect those to help bring our costs down. Getting actual job costing back so quickly is a big plus. Scheduling is simple to adjust which matters a lot with how often our job calendar changes. Invoicing is also very simple. There are already a lot of features we use regularly and plenty more we haven't even explored yet.

Cons

One thing we don't care for is that a project can't be deleted unless we reach out to support. We've also had ongoing connection problems with the field iPads although that has started happening less often recently.

handy search option

Pros

Tracking down what we need is pretty simple, whether it's a CRM company name, a contact, a website, a project or something else along those lines.

Cons

There are still a few issues that need to be ironed out. Uploading documents and pictures works fine but printing them from ProCru just doesn't seem possible. It would also help a lot if each page were numbered especially for larger proposals. Phone numbers are still showing incorrectly on proposals too. We enter both a work number and a mobile number but the proposal shows the same number for both, even though two different numbers are saved in the system.

Better bidding and close rates

Pros

After cycling through five different platforms and narrowing things down to two, we're still using two systems now, ProCru and QuickBooks but the difference for my team has been noticeable. They're sending out more bids, closing at a higher rate and getting jobs procured faster and with better efficiency overall. At this point, we're bidding on five more jobs each week and our closing rate has gone up by 5%.

Cons

The change order system really needs to be redesigned. It would work much better if it functioned more like an AIA-style billing system when handling change orders. On the scheduling side, I'd prefer to see more graphs and dashboard-style views instead of having to read through things and search around to figure out where everything stands. It would also make a big difference if the system synced with QuickBooks for customer contacts, vendor contacts and vendor invoices since that would improve efficiency for both accounting and the field.

centralized solution

Pros

Having everything in one place is where it really delivers. It pulls together a massive amount of information into a single system, starting with lead intake and continuing all the way through customer invoicing and project costing. The program captures a ton of data and there's a lot of potential to dig into that information and use it in meaningful ways. It's also very customizable and the ProCru support team is incredibly responsive whenever we need help with customizations or technical issues.

Cons

That said the software doesn't feel especially polished and it isn't the most user-friendly to navigate at first. There's definitely a learning curve, along with some quirks you have to get used to. The initial setup also takes a lot of work although that's fairly expected when you're tailoring the system to fit a company's specific needs.
