Pros
Navigating the platform is easy for me and I find the real-time data pull one of the most useful parts. The distribution manager also does a great job when it comes to sending out reports efficiently.
Cons
There are times when clear cache and recalc do not function the way they should. Also, when a file contains too many GXL formulas, it can take quite a while to load.

Pros
Everything has run reliably for me and I've noticed the numbers have always stayed in line with what our ERP system shows.
Cons
Sales demo made Queries look much more easy than it actually turned out to be. After buying it, we couldn't get the WIP reporting in Queries to match our reports. On the financial reporting side, though, it has been flawless.

Working on the IT side, I mainly see this being used by our accounting department and I've noticed they've been very happy with it.
Cons
Getting everything configured and set up wasn't very simple at first. Thankfully, the support team was excellent and helped us through it which made the process much more manageable.

“excel-to-erp connection is fantastic”
Pros
Setting this up was very easy for me and using it day to day has been just as simple. I find it really helpful that regular users can connect straight from Excel to the trial balance and general ledger in our ERP without needing any help from MIS.
Cons
The only issue I run into is during recalculation of the links to the general ledger, when Excel occasionally crashes.

Using it feels very easy to me especially when it comes to building reports and running ad-hoc queries. I find the overall usability one of its strongest points.

After the spreadsheets are set up, I find this tool delivers real-time data in exactly the formats we need. We use Deltek VantagePoint and I've seen this take our graphing and financial performance tracking to another level.
Cons
Setting everything up on a new computer can take a while. Adding features like budgets also requires some time and effort.

Pros
Putting reports together is fast for me and sharing them is simple but where this really shines is forensic accounting for my property management business. I can pull in the data I need and then drill deeper into the details without wasting time. Switching between periods or YTD reporting on the fly is incredibly useful and since it works within Excel, I can quickly create pivots, tables and charts from the imported information. We manage multiple companies that run on different ERP systems so I find the ability to bring data together from several sources extremely valuable. It saves me a huge amount of time compared with having to dig through each ERP separately.
Cons
I'm planning to create more custom queries, though I do wish there were some kind of library of commonly used ones I could browse first. It would probably need to be user-generated but it would be helpful if Insight hosted a forum or shared a collection of frequently requested custom queries.

Establishing a direct data connection from our ERP into Excel has been really valuable for me. Like other Excel add-ins, it gave us the flexibility to build and customize reports in ways the ERP itself couldn't support. It's been efficient and works well for what we need.

Pros
Working with this feels very natural to me. Since it functions as an Excel add-in, I find anyone familiar with Excel can pick it up quickly. It's easy to use, adapts well to different report formats and has been flexible enough that I've rolled it out at several companies that were stuck with reporting tools that were either too limited or far too complicated.
Cons
One thing to watch is the number of formula-heavy tabs in a workbook because too many can slow everything down and even cause the system to freeze. When the workbook stays reasonably simple, though, refresh times are very fast.

Pros
One of the biggest advantages of this product is how flexible it is. It cuts down the time needed for data mining and makes data analysis much more efficient. Our team uses it heavily for financial reporting, budgeting and a range of other analytical use cases. The way it connects with spreadsheets and can adjust dynamically for specific date ranges is especially valuable for more advanced and complex analysis.
Cons
There are still some noticeable performance problems when working with large reports, mainly because processing can be slow. Updates to the software have improved things over time but it still struggles with very high volumes of transaction data. Another frustration is that the add-on sometimes disables itself or disappears from Excel which ends up taking internal resources to troubleshoot and fix.

Any time something comes up, I can contact support and I've found they're consistently quick to help and resolve it. The product overall also gives me a fast, easy way to pull information from other ERPs which makes FP&A much simpler to handle.
Cons
I don't have any major complaints but hosting it on cloud platforms can be a bit challenging. It takes some extra effort to get there, although it's still possible to do.
