“all necessary trainings in one place”

Pros

Having the trainings organized into completed and still needed sections makes everything much more accessible and keeps things well structured. With all training courses, including the 40 hour HAZWOPER, available in one place, employees can get through their required training much more efficiently.

Cons

The server can feel slow at times and there's a lot of material to sort through. Filters would really help make it clearer which trainings each employee needs and which they don't. It would also be useful to have custom tabs for specific training groups.

Pros

It really takes a lot off my plate. After you get the hang of entering the information, the whole process starts to feel natural. It keeps all the data you need in one place and stores it securely.

Cons

A few parts could still use improvement especially the audits section. The setup seems geared more toward an industrial plant which makes it harder to use in a construction company.

“Very affordable tool”

Pros

Getting training completed quickly and efficiently is one of the best parts of using this system. Being able to search for any employee at any time using their actual employee number is really helpful. The pricing is also very affordable.

Cons

I still haven't worked out how to add my own custom training into the system. I also ran into some issues with the website when it tried to load my video.

“missing due date calculations for courses”

Entering information and pulling it back up is uncomplicated.

Cons

Something thats lacking is automatic due date calculation for courses an employee hasn't completed yet. We have to enter hire dates and course renewal dates but the system still won't generate a due date for training that hasn't been taken. Because of that, we've had to build Excel spreadsheets to figure out those due dates based on hire dates. It feels like a basic function the software really should already handle.

The platform feels very user friendly and everything from entering data to seeing it appear in the system happens quickly without much delay.

Cons

The process for entering a classification can be a bit confusing.

“Accessible recordkeeping”

Pros

Something that has been a gamechanger for us is having everything for training available right at the work location. The site keeps all training tracked and logged and when someone asks for records, we can provide them quickly without any trouble.

Cons

Each function requires a separate login, Training, Audits, Meetings and so on. It would be much better to have a single login, with access to different sections based on the user's permission level.

Pros

Using SafetyPlusWeb has been a really positive experience. The software is easy to work with, gets updated regularly and fits well with the type of work we do. Adding new users is simple and it helps get them involved in the program quickly. It also does a good job of guiding people through safety courses while making sure the material is actually understood as part of the process.

Cons

One improvement I'd still like to see is the ability to drill down further in the dashboard, specifically to the individual org keys.

Pros

After looking at several options to move our document storage and maintenance from paper files to a digital system, we chose Safety Plus Web for a lot of reasons. The pricing was very reasonable and fit our budget well. It handled the compliance needs we were focused on but it also covered far more than that. Beyond DOT, it has helped us organize safety procedures, HR processes, training, reporting, housing documents and overall paper based workflows. The part I appreciate most about SPW is how versatile it is. The system can be set up around how you want to work so you can decide the best way to solve the issues you are dealing with. We work closely with the SPW team and they really listen to customer feedback. They take the time to walk through different ways to accomplish what you are trying to do and they even add new features based on customer suggestions. Overall, they go above and beyond to help customers use the system in the way that works best for them. This program has automated the process we set out to improve and has done even more for our company.

Cons

The toughest part has really been getting employees like truck drivers and construction laborers, along with a few internal departments, to move away from old habits like paper documents and spreadsheets and switch to a paperless system on a computer or phone. That challenge is not caused by Safety Plus Web itself though. People are gradually starting to understand how convenient it is to have access to information and tracking tools right at their fingertips and they have realized it has made their tasks much simpler. The only feature I still wish they offered is a dedicated app that employees could download. I also used to dislike updating the employee roster because it required manual data entry but they have since added a feature that lets you do a data dump from one spreadsheet to update employees which has been a big improvement.

We've had a really positive experience using this so far and I especially enjoyed how simple it was to upload information and use the toolbox talk feature.

Cons

Sometimes it does feel like there are quite a few things that get in the way, with extra options that can be a bit overwhelming.

“worth every penny”

Pros

SafetyPlusWeb has been well worth the cost for us because it offers a training program for safety and related needs that's already built out, while still giving enough flexibility to customize it. Rolling it out to our crews is simple and it also makes it simple to show clients that training has been completed and track progress clearly.
