“Works for basic lawn maintenance tracking
Pros
I really like how it handles crews and "rounds." It does a great job with that. If you have different crews that might change who's on them, it works perfectly. It also manages all the jobs for customers at different times, like irrigation startups or turf fertilizations, really well. Once you activate the round, it loads all the tasks to the right customer.
Cons
The reporting feature in Clip is really unhelpful. I can't get any useful info in a way that's easy to use. The accounting and sync with QuickBooks are also unreliable. Every time there's an update, a lot of things break that they didn't expect. It's like they don't properly test the system and it feels like they're trying to patch up an old program beyond its limits, kind of like what happened with DOS.

“Switching from CLIP Desktop to CLIPitc
Pros
The customer service has been great. The support team from sales was really helpful during setup and training. The chat feature is quick and reliable for solving small issues too. So far, the mobile app and mobile recording have been working well as expected. I was nervous about switching but I've been pleasantly surprised. I think the people leaving bad reviews probably don't fully get how the system works. The main idea is solid, it just needs a few adjustments to make it perfect. Also, I think the price is fair for what they offer compared to other options.
Cons
There are some weird things about the system. One of the things I don't like is that if you want to include materials in the job price rather than showing them separately on the invoice, the system doesn't combine the hourly rate with the material cost. For example, if you did a job at $50 an hour for 10 hours and had $200 in materials, the system will just give you $500 for labor and won't include the materials in the total price. You have to manually adjust it when finalizing the job. I've been told this is something they'll discuss adding, so I hope it happens soon. There's a bit of a learning curve, and if you're not very tech-savvy, it can get frustrating, which might explain some of the negative reviews.

“Used to be a great program
Pros
Invoicing and billing work well. Honestly, it's the best part of the program.
Cons
Scheduling, ClipPay and support don't work well on mobile devices. It's frustrating to try to use these features on the go.

“works fine
Pros
I love that it's compatible with QuickBooks, has CRM features and really does everything we need to run our business properly. Honestly, I think we're probably not even using it to its full potential.
Cons
I'm still not set up with the routing feature for printing and organizing route sheets. I'm also a bit nervous about upgrading from XE to ITX. Is it Windows-compatible? How many jobs can we route per day? Can multiple people work on the same customer file at the same time? Just some questions I have about ITC.

“Poor sales and support
Pros
The current invoice clearly shows any past due balance, which I find really helpful for keeping track of what's owed. It makes it much easier for me to see if there's anything still unpaid from previous invoices.
Cons
This is more of a scheduling tool, not really what we need in the lawn and landscape industry.

“Doesn't meet pesticide record standards
Pros
The mobile app is pretty simple but I've noticed that the applicator can't access customer info unless it's entered specifically for them to see in the notes. Why do I have to go through 200 customers and enter their contact info under their notes for every single application? It seems like I have to go into each application and re-enter the same info every time just to make sure the applicator has access to the same details all year.
Cons
We use this for scheduling our turf program. During a recent pesticide inspection, the inspector wasn't happy with Clip because we couldn't easily print application records in case a complaint was filed against us. Thankfully, we had paper copies. It's a bit disappointing that the program can do so much but we can't print an individual application record with all the basic details we need. All the info is there but I was told you can't actually print it out. I hope I'm wrong about that.

“The "new version" of Clip
Pros
I'm trying to figure something out but I can't even move to the next page right now.
Cons
The "blue screen" is really hard on the eyes! Clip is so slow, and no, it's not our internet. We tried upgrading it but it didn't help much. What I really don't like is when I click on a job and wait for the blue screen to clear, only for the page to jump back to the top instead of staying on the job I want to edit. More scrolling is needed. It's not very eye-friendly and it can give you a headache. Why can't jobs be put in alphabetical order?

“Needs many improvements
Pros
I really like the chat feature because it allows me to quickly get answers to any questions I have.
Cons
It feels like this software was rushed into production without enough testing or improvements. Recording work was easy in CLIPxe but is very tedious in ITC. The "once a week" and "bi-weekly" visits don't work the same way in ITC as they did in XE. You can't attach extra tasks to the main job like you could in XE with the "related" field. It's hard to add a crew member when recording work and calculating charges based on time spent at a job is tricky. There are no AM/PM shortcuts and the training videos are not very helpful.
