Service-focused customized features

Pros

It fits our service-based business really well and comes with a lot of custom features that match what we need and actually use.

Cons

There are also plenty of features we never touch and the software is very expensive considering how much of it we actually end up using.

Frustrating experience

Pros

The dispatch board, client portal and customer account section are easy to navigate and make basic tasks manageable.

Cons

Biggest problems are with reporting, unresolved bugs, training and support and the RFS (remote field service) side of the system.

Helpful support with great training

Pros

After about a week of being live on the system, it's been really nice having everything for each customer in one place and being able to pull up and work with the information without any hassle. We've needed support to help sort out a few bugs and every person we've dealt with has responded quickly, been very helpful and taken the time to teach us along the way. The on-site training leading up to go-live was excellent as well. Rich fit in perfectly with our team and we had around six days of training plus two additional days with him onsite while we began using the system. Overall, it has been a very positive experience.

Cons

At this point the part we like least is tied more to our previous software than to this one. The QuickBooks connection hasn't flowed through the way we expected from the beginning but we're still working through that with them and they've been very open to our feedback and suggestions.

constantly improving reporting tools

Pros

One thing I really appreciate is how the software keeps pace with changes in the industry. It's being updated regularly to make things more user-friendly and to improve reporting especially when it comes to pulling the numbers and information we need. I also like that we're able to capture electronic files directly in the file room.

Cons

There are still quite a few quirks we have to work around. The file room doesn't offer a preview option so you have to open the actual document just to see what it is. It also would be much better if the file room allowed sorting or organizing items into separate drawers within customers or jobs.

Valuable automation

Pros

Getting around the system is easy and the automated features make the whole process much more valuable for our team. Just the time we save when pulling reports has made a noticeable impact on productivity.

Cons

One thing that could be better is having more obvious ways to resolve issues and making the solutions easier to understand. I've submitted tickets before simply because I couldn't figure out where in the program to fix the problem. More training would probably help with that but sometimes simple fixes just need clearer tab names.

Flexible and always improving

Pros

There are a lot of options built into the software so users can really customize it to match their exact needs. The platform also keeps improving and continues adding features people want and need for day-to-day operations.

Cons

At the same time, that biggest strength can also become its biggest drawback. With so many options available, it's possible for users to feel overwhelmed or get lost in the system.

full-featured tool

Pros

It covers virtually every part of our business which is a big reason we've stayed with it for years. The software feels complete and supports us across all areas we need.

Cons

I'd still like to see some parts of the software developed further so we wouldn't have to rely as much on customization. I'm attending the conference to learn more ways to improve our processes.

centralized claims workflow

Pros

One of the biggest benefits is that service agents can create their own claims and it gives us a single central place for this part of the business to be handled.

Cons

Where it falls short is the lack of on-the-fly customization. In an industry that keeps changing, we need more flexibility to add or remove certain fields and adjust the layout as needed. I also wish the Global Warranty platform gave better visibility into the status of information coming from Global Edge.

Reliable global warranty hub

Pros

I think the global warranty feature works really well for service agents using Global Edge and it serves as a convenient one-stop shop.

Cons

Every now and then there are intermittent issues. When they happen, tracking down the root cause is difficult which can be frustrating.

all-in-one functionality

Pros

Everything is covered here, from AP and AR to service billing and dispatch, plus purchasing and inventory control. It brings all the key functions together in one system.

Cons

Tough part is getting issues resolved quickly enough when they impact day-to-day operations especially during critical times like month-end or year-end closing.

Helpful support and training

Pros

The company provides strong support the PMs and support analysts do a really good job with training and having access to IT resources has been very useful.

Cons

One area that could be better is the overall speed of ticket responses. I'd also like to see more thorough testing by the IT team before patches are released.

Responsive support with efficient workflows

Pros

Between the dispatch board and the remote field features, our day-to-day operations run much more efficiently which is essential when we need to respond to customer needs quickly. The real-time data flowing into our software also keeps communication accurate and clear. Whenever we need help with the system the IT support team has been outstanding. They respond quickly, are genuinely helpful and always friendly. Over time, we've even gotten to know some of the support staff personally and built real friendships because of how sincere they are.

Cons

The biggest challenge on our side is simplifying payroll entry with labor tracking since S2K doesn't include a payroll module although we've still found ways to make it work. The Agreements feature itself works very well but the field entries can be sensitive and very detailed especially when setting up amortizations or making adjustments and credits. That said the support team is always ready to help make sure everything is entered correctly and to walk us through how to fix anything when needed.

Fast daily workflow wins

Pros

Working between the different menus feels well connected and it saves a lot of time on everyday tasks like paying invoices and updating customer accounts.

Cons

Reporting is where it falls short. Unless you have a custom report built, getting the exact information you need from the limited reporting menus can be difficult.

powerful reporting

Pros

There's a lot to appreciate here. The AR and AP totals are really helpful and the system does a great job collecting data for both service and parts. The reporting tied to the scheduler is also very useful and the activities tracking adds even more value.

Cons

One thing that still makes me a little nervous is seeing an update first thing in the morning because I always end up hoping it doesn't cause any issues during the day.

Quick customer and work order lookup

Pros

Looking up customers and their work orders for each location is very convenient and saves a lot of time.

Cons

Nothing comes to mind right now. Whenever we run into an issue or need something they usually fix it or add it as an option in the software.

Pros

One of the best parts of using it has been the range of features and the flexibility it offers. It adapts well to different needs and gives me plenty of options which makes it very useful overall.

Cons

Frustrating purchase order limits

Pros

Nothing really stands out as a benefit to me.

Cons

Purchase orders are really frustrating to deal with because once they're entered they can't be edited. On top of that, most issues that come up seem to require some kind of workaround which gets old fast.
