“Powerful enough for unique requirements

Pros

Our business has specific needs and every other provider like Dispatch Science always had several significant gaps in the features we required. But still this one is little different as it is a powerful enough platform to handle our unique requirements without needing extremely expensive, fundamental customizations. Also it is a fantastic system thats both accessible for smaller companies and robust enough for large ones, a combination you are unlikely to find anywhere else in the logistics field.

Cons

The biggest drawback right now is the limited ability to track individual items within an order. While order-level tracking is excellent, managing orders with multiple items is not as smooth as it could be. It is not that it is impossible but without using some fairly complex workarounds, the functionality has its limits.

Pros

The software automated our process and was perfectly optimized to identify delivery locations which made planning routes very simple. The tracking was also amazing, displaying the real-time location with great accuracy.

Cons

Nothing in particular comes to mind at the moment.

Cons

The accounting module is decent though not outstanding. Since many other DMS platforms I have used do not include accounting at all, so I'd still rate them as above average in this area.

“A very comprehensive all-in-one platform

Pros

Dispatch Science offers a very comprehensive platform that handles all these key areas Order Entry, Dispatch Management, a Driver App, Automated Routing, Invoicing, Billing and a powerful API. This lets our business accomplish a huge amount within a single system.

Cons

There are a number of user interface improvements that could boost productivity but the team is consistently working on updates and actively listening to customer feedback.

“open APIs unlock endless automation

Pros

With its built-in optimization and open APIs, this software enables capabilities we simply did not have with our old Transportation Management System. We can quickly expand what the software does by building APIs to automate almost any process we can imagine and the only limit is our own creativity. Plus the team is very responsive to requests and is dedicated to constantly improving the software with monthly updates that add even more functionality.

Cons

Because it is a relatively new platform, there are some expected growing pains, including occasional stability issues. Their team is usually pretty quick to resolve them though. Also the software covers most of the features found in older TMS systems but some functionalities are still in development.

Pros

The Dispatch Science team is easily the most valuable part of the entire software experience. In our 39 years in business, we have used three other systems. Choosing to partner with this tool has been one of our best decisions. They collaborate with you to develop features that are crucial for your operations, which can give you a competitive advantage, increase your profits or improve your efficiency.

Cons

Anything I could mention here would just be minor, nitpicky details. So I would like to ignore them for now.

Pros

I must say the technology is absolutely top-tier, without a doubt. We narrowed our choice down to the two best companies and chose DS because I believed their technology was unrivaled. I believed that strongly then and I believe it just as much now.

Cons

Switching to this system is a challenging transition, no matter how you look at it. We were not migrating from another service as this was our first time adopting this kind of technology. And omplementation takes a significant amount of time and effort. Good thing is that they are upfront about that but you still have to go through it. Sometimes we are told our issue is the first of its kind, so they need to build a new feature and charge us for it. Even if thats true, I'd expect them to build it for future customers as well because if it is useful for us, it will be useful for others.

Dispatch Science gives us the tools to oversee every part of our business. Having one unified system that auto-dispatches, plans and optimizes routes, handles accounts receivable and creates driver settlements is essential to our success. Plus the software is so user friendly that we trained our entire operations team in just a few hours. We especially appreciate the web-based platform we can log into from any device, anywhere. After researching many options, we come to a conclusion that it provided the features, unbeatable value and support we needed.

Cons

There was a bit of a learning curve when we switched from our old ERP system but overall, the transition went smoothly.

We can help our clients secure more contracts because of features like customer data transparency, auto-filled customer information, driver tracking, a branded tracking page, advance customer notifications and driver route details on the mobile app that boost efficiency. Another excellent feature is pulling loading instructions from a barcode, which organizes the loading sequence and optimizes our drivers time on their delivery routes.

Cons

We faced a learning curve when we started using the API but the support team is always quick to reply and offer help.
