Fast support with helpful features

Pros

The support team responds fast whenever I reach out. I also really value the Engage and personality features as they add a thoughtful layer to how we connect with candidates and understand who they really are.

Cons

There's not much I don't like. But it would be useful if integrations to other job boards were simpler. Right now we still lean heavily on recruiters although that's not necessarily a fault of this tool. Having suggested job boards based on role type or location would be a nice touch. Also API connections with common HRIS systems would be extremely helpful.

Quick setup and easy staff training

Pros

I learned the tool quickly during setup because it's simple enough that I rarely need to refer to guides or support. That also makes it easy for me to train staff without any difficulty since I can show them exactly what to do in real time. Within a short session everyone feels comfortable using it on their own.

Cons

One hiccup I ran into during rollout was that the invitation emails ended up in our employees' junk folders and I don't hold the tool responsible for that.... it was an email deliverability quirk outside the application's control.

smooth candidate tracking

Pros

Well I can manage candidates smoothly and I track hiring stages efficiently.

Cons

One small irritation I run into is having to download resumes or cover letters if I want to read them outside the system. It's not a deal-breaker by any means but I'd prefer an option to preview those documents inline, that change would make the daily workflow noticeably more convenient and save a bit of time.

Better team-fit insights

Pros

For culture hiring I can evaluate team fit more effectively by using real insights instead of guessing. I rely on those insights to make smarter, more confident decisions about who will truly succeed in our environment.

Cons

The only two things we disliked were, 1. No automatic way to import paid LinkedIn recruitment applicants into our system. 2. The process was clunky for applicants filling in details, with several people not finishing the form or stopping early thinking they were done.

easy user management

Pros

On an every day basis I manage users easily and I appreciate the clean interface for learning delivery,

Cons

I'd like to see more granular access controls added so we can manage permissions with finer precision and a clearer public feature roadmap would be really helpful so we know what's coming next.

convenient AI tools

Pros

With AI features I adapt quickly and I understand functions without trouble

Cons

Because we're often pressed for time, getting people through the onboarding process was a real challenge although our company doesn't see much staff turnover and we tended to only use the software on an as-needed basis.

Automated shortlisting speeds hiring

Pros

We've seen Shortlyster dramatically shorten our recruitment timeline. As a company, we no longer have to wade through piles of resumes and untidy data, everything gets accelerated thanks to Shortlyster's automated shortlisting system that fast-tracks candidates efficiently.

Cons

No cons. I can't find anything about this software that I don't like.

Detailed candidate data reduces guesswork

Pros

Because Shortlyster supplies such detailed data about each candidate, my team and I no longer have to depend on gut-feel judgments when deciding which person to hire.

Cons

Shortlyster can match salaries and offers guidance about the pay range a candidate is likely expecting but in my view it would be helpful if that information were even more granular so I could better gauge whether someone would be open to negotiating their compensation.
