Good admin functionality overall

Pros

I really like how this tool automatically calculates cost and headcount savings while helping me design new structures. The metrics for tracking organizational effectiveness are a great bonus too. The customer support team is amazing and they're always friendly and ready to help whenever I need it.

Cons

Uploading data manually is such a problem since there's no system integration, this could definitely be made easier. Also, the user access creation is limited, it would be great to have more options for configuration.

Massive efficiency and cost benefits

Pros

Turning data into clear visual insights is very easy and stakeholders actually pay attention to what I'm showing them. The platform is really easy to use and the support team is absolutely fantastic and they make working with them a real pleasure. I mainly use this for organizational redesign projects and being able to visualize structures and quickly find important metrics like spans and layers in just minutes saves me so much time compared to using Excel and PowerPoint.

Cons

Sometimes it feels like there's just so much to this tool. we're probably not using it to its full potential. It'd be great if there were more regular updates about how other companies are using it or success stories to give us new ideas.

Excellent support team drives success

Pros

The slide creation process is so easy and having tons of templates to choose from makes my work go much faster.

Cons

I wish there were more training resources available, especially for advanced features like calculated fields. It'd be awesome if the community were more active and engaged too.

Powerful Interactive Data Analysis Tool

Pros

It's easy to create great data visualizations and start exploring right after uploading our company data. This tool makes it so much easier to tell data stories and get quick insights!

Cons

Managing security permissions can get really complicated when you have a larger team. With over 50 people who all need different levels of access, setting that up at scale is more complicated than it should be.

Avg tool after years of use

Pros

The flexibility is amazing. I can make changes quickly without needing to do major overhauls once everything is set up. This platform lets me handle organization design, workforce planning and analytics all in one place. It works perfectly for both enterprise-level projects and more specialized work with clients.

Cons

It's difficult to use when you start diving into the advanced features, mainly because you really need to understand organizational data well. But the basic platform is easy for beginners! I'd also say that the Strategic Workforce Planning part still needs work but I've seen it's on the development roadmap.

Good with room for improvement

Pros

I've found it to be really simple and easy to use from day one. The interface is user-friendly, calculations are quick and the platform is always getting better.

Cons

Honestly, I've sent feedback a few times about areas that could be improved, especially when exporting to PowerPoint. The preset formatting options feel restrictive and sometimes the way it maximizes space doesn't really work for what I need. I'd prefer more control over fonts and sizing when I'm downloading stuff.

Versatile data visualization but steep learning curve

Pros

It's pretty easy to use and there are so many ways to customize how you display information. It beats Excel or PowerPoint hands down when it comes to showing hierarchies and trying out different data views.

Cons

There are tons of features but finding them as a newcomer can be frustrating because they're not always obvious. The expression logic takes some getting used to, especially since it's trickier than what I'm used to in Excel. Performance slows down when I work with large datasets and screen sharing makes it even worse. Adding notes is annoying too and the data tab doesn't expand like in Excel so you're stuck reviewing everything in a small space.

Slow with some limitations

Pros

I appreciate how easy it is to visualize data and analyze it with this tool. The range of charts and organizational structures adds a lot of variety to presentations.

Cons

Performance gets sluggish during presentations or screen sharing which is frustrating when I'm trying to show data to stakeholders. The interface feels outdated and using it is not easy at all. Writing expressions is also really challenging and not user-friendly.

All in one solution

Pros

There are so many ways to visualize data which makes everything so much clearer. Having organizational models and analysis all in one place is so convenient and the custom coding for flags gives a lot of flexibility. The level of customization is impressive and the Orvue team's support has been amazing. What I love most is that the company keeps innovating, always finding new ways to make our work easier and more efficient.

Cons

No major cons but if I'm being picky, I'd say I liked the previous homescreen layout better. The new one doesn't affect how the software works but it's something I've had to get used to.

Essential for organizational planning

Pros

Working with hierarchical data is so much smoother now and it handles everything from reviewing current structures to building and comparing different scenarios. Before, we were stuck doing everything offline or in PowerPoint and then copying it into Excel. Now, modeling reorganizations and comparing them to our baseline is easy. The Activity analysis feature is a real game-changer too and it tracks what's happening day-to-day and helps us identify areas for improvement or highlight the best practices our teams are already using.

Cons

The interface isn't friendly which makes it tough for less tech-savvy team members to get comfortable with. This has made it hard to expand its use across our business partners. The recent packs they've added help a bit with this. Another thing to watch out for is performance, when dealing with large datasets especially ones with lots of links, things can get slow or even freeze. I've learned to save my work often to avoid losing progress.
