Phenom AI makes my workday a lot simpler. I use it every single day especially when reaching out to potential candidates or sending rejections.
Cons
The AI can sometimes feel quite simple. The emails it creates are very plain and do not feel personal. The generation process also occasionally takes a few minutes making it almost quicker to just use a different AI tool like Copilot.

Pros
The platform is excellent, it provides detailed data and understanding about your career page and offers powerful tools for connecting with people who are both actively and passively looking for jobs.
Cons
No doubt the company means well but they seem to be facing growing pains. Like we have had several different Customer Success Managers and getting updates to our career site usually means filing a formal help request.

My favorite part is how it simplifies how we interact with candidates and removes a huge amount of manual work. The AI-powered suggestions help us find good candidates we could have overlooked and the automatic follow-up messages keep people interested without us needing to track every single conversation. Overall it's made our hiring feel faster while still making the experience feel personal for each candidate.
Cons
There are moments when the AI's suggestions require some adjustment because they are not a perfect match for our particular hiring goals or company culture. I also wish connecting it to our other software had been a little easier as we hit a few obstacles getting all the systems to communicate correctly.

Phenom Applied AI is unique because it makes the talent process smoother by handling repetitive jobs and giving useful insights. Plus I really value how it uses AI to customize communication with candidates, makes recruiters more productive and speeds up hiring overall. Moreover the easy to use layout and the recommendations based on data help us spot the best people fast, saving time and leading to better choices. It feels like a genuine tool for boosting productivity for both recruiters and the people applying.
Cons
While it has great tools for automation and customization, I have found that some of the more advanced features take time for new users to learn. Also linking it with some of our older internal systems can be complicated which might delay getting started. So I think better training materials and simpler connections with other software would improve the experience.

“Very easy and simple to start”
Pros
The whole Phenom system is very easy for anyone to use and getting it started was simple. We have set a clear rule with our recruiting team to always check this tool first for any new job opening and the platform makes that easy to do. Every day, we log in, use the dashboard to check for new candidates or see how our job ads are doing and we use the X+ tool to create well-written messages to candidates. We usually just make a couple of small changes which saves a lot of time. We also love using X+ to ask questions about a candidate's resume as it gives us accurate answers and can even suggest interview questions. Our support team is great too which makes it easy to keep learning and getting better with the platform. We use Hosted Apply which is a major improvement. Plus connecting it to Workday made our recruiters daily tasks much easier. I mean having the two systems talk to each other is a huge benefit that keeps recruiters from constantly switching between different programs.
Cons
Like with any AI, it can sometimes misunderstand what you want. We also have not quite figured out how to make the fit scoring work for us and we feel the AI Discovery for finding candidates could be better. Plus we do not always get suitable applicants. In short it still needs some refining.

I really admire how Phenom is always working to upgrade their products. I have used it for many years and watching it get better consistently proves they are dedicated to making it a long-term tool for companies. My personal favorite features are the automated workflows and the candidate screening in the CRM. It is also very user friendy and makes sense as you navigate it. I use it every day for my job and I am a big fan.

“Easily the best for new users”
Pros
What makes it the best is how easily new users and recruiters can start using it. Also being able to update our career site instantly without a web developer and the strong collaboration with Phenom is amazing too. And now in 2025. since my first review, we have added automated scheduling and tools for high-volume hiring. These have saved our recruiting team a lot of time and improved our new hire attendance rates.
Cons
Our company has very specific needs that are not standard features so they require custom work. So this is not a complaint, it is typical with most software. The support team works closely with us to find solutions and has led the way in partnership to make sure we get the full value from their products.

There is nothing that I like about this tool. It just wasted our time nothing else.
Cons
The support team seems unorganized and is not very familiar with the systems. They often give us incorrect and inappropriate answers. Plus they frequently do not solve the problem properly. The hiring manager dashboard is also not user-friendly and is difficult to navigate.

Pros
One of my favorite parts is the courses and certifications. As the training modules are very detailed and well-made for learning the application. Also the Phenom Chrome Extension is something I use daily for work and I really like how you can upload a resume and it automatically fills in the candidate's profile. It also connects smoothly with our other software through the extension and via our career site.
Cons
My only issue is that always-on campaigns don't work with automatically updating lists which is a problem. So I'd like new matches in a dynamic list to get the automated message. But I am still fairly new so this might be my own lack of knowledge.

To me the most helpful aspect of Phenom is the ability to text candidates. Since most people use texting as a main way to communicate, it is great to have that option when emails go unanswered. I also like being able to create email templates with our Alight branding to send to candidates which adds a nice, professional look instead of a plain, generic email. And Overall the tool is very easy to use which helps people who are not very comfortable with technology.
Cons
There are not many things I dislike about the platform, most of my desired changes are minor details that would just help me personally. For instance, I wish the submitted screening answers would sort from oldest to newest automatically. I also wish the questions would appear to recruiters in the same order they were written in the questionnaire, to make reviewing them smoother. Other than that I have no other suggestions.
