nice tool, I must say

Pros

Keeping up with weekly time tracking is very easy with this tool and it's already set up to integrate nicely with corporate systems.

Cons

interface feels a bit dated and the UX/UI could really use a refresh. It works fine and is simple to use but it gives the impression of using a 20 year old system for tracking.

Simple to configure around business needs

Pros

Capturing data in it is pretty easy and the system is fairly simple to configure around specific business needs. The reporting has also been genuinely useful for making decisions about resource allocation.

Cons

The only downside is that the interface doesn't feel as modern or polished as some other more general software products available today.

Quick transition with great functionality

Pros

The tool offers great functionality and getting up to speed with it was a quick transition.

Cons

It would be even better if it included project management scheduling features similar to MS Project or P6.

flexible reporting and clean UI

Pros

There's plenty of flexibility to add more functionality and creating new reports and custom views is easy too. The interface is simple as well which makes the overall experience more user friendly.

Cons

Performance could be better and the web application is limited since it only supports a read-only view.

flexible features with reporting gaps

Pros

One thing that works well is its flexibility when adding new features. The reporting tools are useful too, also the system is fairly easy to use and the pricing feels reasonable for what it offers.

Cons

A downside is that some fields are still missing from reports even though�it�is already capturing that data. The email configuration could also be better.

has the best resource scheduling tool

Pros

It is a very capable resource scheduling tool. The amount of detail you can capture is nearly limitless which makes it useful for managing a lot of moving parts. The alert functionality looks especially valuable for all kinds of notifications and the quick graphic views are helpful when you need visual comparisons fast. User access permissions are broad so it supports many different levels of users. The filtering is also very deep and detailed, with the ability to drill down from resource-level views to project-level views. We are still getting familiar with the reporting and utilization areas because the system is new to us but I am encouraged by how the alerts could help flag shortfalls and over-scheduling. The quick double-booking messages are also a nice touch and the color coding makes everything much easier to spot visually.

Cons

One concern is the pricing especially for users who only need to review data. Anyone who accesses�it requires a license and once you have more than 50 employees, that cost can add up very quickly. That becomes a real factor for people who just want to check where they are scheduled to report or need to enter time into�the system. We also have not integrated data from our existing system yet and I can see the mapping process potentially being difficult.

Handles a lot of information well

Pros

Handling a huge volume of information is where SAVIOM really helps us. We manage more than 60 projects with over 150 engineers and it gives us the visibility we need to make smarter resourcing decisions while clearly communicating future headcount requirements.

Cons

I feel like the interface could use a more modern look and feel and the automatic reporting features would benefit from some improvement.

Cut meetings from two hours

Pros

One of the biggest benefits has been the Gantt chart view which gives everyone a quick snapshot of resource utilization. People across the business can clearly see who is assigned to which project and that visibility has cut our weekly resourcing meetings from two hours down to under 10 minutes. Resource requests can also be submitted at any time, allocated right away and updated in the system so the whole team can see changes instantly.

Cons

After relying on Excel spreadsheets before,�it�has been a huge improvement. The only frustration used to be that it was only accessible when connected to the office network which led to complaints from users. Now that a web version is available, that issue should disappear making it possible to request resources from anywhere in real time.

offer visibility into staff capacity

Pros

It gives us much better visibility into staff capacity and workload demand. It has also improved the efficiency and accuracy of our record keeping, while helping standardize key legal and project requirements with better quality assurance. Another big advantage is the future potential to automate even more of the booking, accrediting and record-keeping processes. Since it's web-based, staff can log in through any browser and access it anytime, from anywhere.

Cons

Because�it�has to be configured around the company's specific requirements and different user needs some staff do not find it very user friendly and need more guidance to use�it�properly.

Cost effective and easy to learn

Pros

From day one, it has proven to be a cost-effective and accessible tool that does not take much effort to get comfortable with. Also it is configurable, fairly easy to work through and even the system administration side is easier to navigate than expected. On top of that the manual data transfer process was reasonable.

Cons

The weakest part has probably been the video conferencing training. Some of that is due to internet limitations but the setup really only works well when conditions are perfect. The audio tends to cut in and out with unstable connections even when one person or the other is speaking which makes proper interactive training difficult.

Flexible and simple to navigate

Pros

The flexibility stood out because there's a lot we can adjust to fit our specific needs. The tool is also simple to navigate and most people can get comfortable with it after just a couple of days of use.

Cons

A few basic features are still missing that would make�it�more convenient to work with. For example it would help to have more column options available in reports since not every report offers the same choices and that makes custom reporting harder than it should be.

Configuration options match our needs

Pros

There are plenty of ways to use this software and the configuration options make it possible to customize it very closely to exactly what we need. I'd definitely recommend it.

Cons

Because we manage a large volume of planning resources in�it like more than 700 resources and over 400 projects so some screens can take a little longer to load.

allows reports customization

Pros

Being able to customize reports with different filters is something I really like and the tool is user friendly overall.

Cons

It still falls short when it comes to integration with MS Project and Primavera and the Excel export formatting needs improvement. Better export and print options would make a big difference.

helo sees available resources at once

Pros

One of the most useful things is being able to quickly see which resources are available for an upcoming project at a glance. It also comes with plenty of customization options which adds a lot of flexibility to the way we can use it.

Cons

A small annoyance is that some windows in the configuration area cannot be resized. It's not a major issue but it would definitely be a helpful feature to have.

Timeline view is a game changer

Pros

The timeline view in SAVIOM has been a game changer for resource management. One of the best parts is how easy it is for resource bookings. You do need to be careful with bookings that are shorter than a day because at a quick glance they can still look like full-day allocations. Aside from that it's very simple to see who is assigned where and to make changes using drag and drop. You can also get more information by hovering over a booking and even more detail once you open it fully. The booking colors are also very flexible and can be used in different ways, such as by project type, likelihood or other categories.

Cons

Its resource request function is harder to use than it should be. That is disappointing because requesting resources is a time-consuming process when done manually and this feature would add a lot more value to the product if it worked in a more effective manner.

Outstanding support from service team

Pros

It's been really valuable to customize the system to fit our specific requirements. The support from the service team has also been outstanding and just about every request we have made has been taken on board and implemented by the team.

Tracks certifications and expiry dates

Pros

Among the options we looked at, it was the only solution that really matched our needs. It handles full-time and part-time resources across multiple bespoke projects at the same time and it also helps us keep track of personnel qualifications along with certification and license expiry dates.

Cons

Our version feels a bit old fashioned although I understand it has been refreshed recently and that's something we're currently exploring.

flexible panels but limited reporting

Pros

SAVIOM follows a resource management workflow that's quite similar to what we use at Zafin which makes it familiar to work with. Also the functional item configuration is well done and the option to add it flexibly to the user panel is definitely a plus.

Cons

A downside is that the captured data cannot really be reported on unless the software is customized. Since it's the customer's own data, there should be full freedom to add whatever columns they need to functional items instead of being restricted to a vendor-defined list.

Very user-friendly with drag-and-drop task management

Pros

The interface is very user friendly. Reassigning work with drag and drop is quick and splitting or moving tasks only takes a couple of clicks. It is also very configurable which makes it practical to remove features you do not use and tailor the input screens and system behavior to match the way your team works.

Cons

There is not much to complain about but one challenge is that while the software is highly configurable, the documentation is fairly limited. That means getting everything set up exactly the way you want can take some time, along with a bit of trial and error. Still, the effort pays off in the end.

easy to customize tool

Pros

Setting it up to match our business needs was easy and the fields can be customized really well. Also it does a great job of storing certifications, tracking training and sending notifications when expiration dates are coming up. I can also see where all of our technicians are at any time which helps prevent double-booking people or equipment. Overall it's very user friendly.

Cons

The limitation with roles is frustrating. A lot of our technicians handle multiple roles and may have a skill they are both qualified and certified for but the system only lets me select one or the other.
