“Paperless enrollment done right”

Pros

Paperless enrollment has been the biggest win with this software. Before we started using the Benselect enrollment system through Selerix, handling enrollments was a mess with stacks of paper forms to track down and process. Now everything lives in one convenient place and employees can sign up for benefits anytime, day or night, with just a few clicks.

Cons

This software offers so many options that it's honestly hard to come up with any real downside.

“Captures detailed health question”

Pros

It can be configured to capture detailed health questions and eligibility information which makes it useful for handling more in-depth enrollment requirements.

Cons

The enrollment flow isn't very clear so it's fairly easy for someone to miss steps and end up not completing or submitting an application.

“All products in one place”

Pros

Being able to bring all products together within a single platform is a big advantage.

Cons

There are still more glitches and system errors than I'd expect and they happen more often than I'd like.

“Easy to load core data”

Pros

Getting into the system and loading core data is simple and building cases on the front end goes pretty quickly when all the needed inputs are there.

Cons

I've never had a setup go through without some kind of issue. The census has to be absolutely exact, even down to the header names or the mapping won't work correctly. On top of that, there always seem to be errors that show up after the build and end up needing tech support to fix.

“Customizable according to our needs”

Pros

Navigating both current and past benefit selections is very simple and the process stays consistent while still allowing customization for each year's specific needs.

Cons

One thing that would make it even better is having a pop-up explanation for each radio button especially for users who aren't as familiar with what each option does.

“Lets us collect personal information”

Pros

It's really helpful how flexible the system is when setting up benefits to match each carrier's specifications. Being able to collect personal information and let employees update their beneficiaries every year is also a big plus.

Cons

There are still some limitations that can make things harder at times especially when working with a client or carrier that needs reporting in a very specific format.

“Can add or terminate all benefits easily”

Pros

Being able to add or terminate all benefits with one change in the system is a huge plus. I no longer have to jump over to each carrier website just to update an address, pay details or election changes.

Cons

When it comes to administrative updates like switching someone from full-time to part-time or handling anything outside the norm, it can take several tries before the system finally does what it's supposed to. From an admin standpoint, it just doesn't feel very user-friendly.

“Widely used platform”

Pros

Because millions of employees are already using the platform, there's a good chance the carrier data feeds are already in place and usable templates already exist. That can make getting feeds up and running much faster than what's typical in the industry. The employer site can also be customized with scripts which makes it possible to support very specific or unusual requests. It handles large, complex employer groups well and the employee experience is very user-friendly. The built-in medical decision support is a popular feature and reporting plus ACA form generation are both simple.

Cons

Setting up payroll connectivity can be complicated. The overall deployment experience can also vary a lot depending on how experienced and skilled the team is that builds and maintains the rules. This is very much a Benefits Administration platform so it shouldn't be expected to cover areas like performance management or other broader HRIS functions.

“Powerful reporting for complex plans”

Pros

Appreciate the reporting, along with how simple it is to look up and research employees directly in the system. It also does a really nice job supporting more complex employer setups especially when there are multiple plans and different job classes to manage.

Cons

It feels somewhat limited when it comes to working with outside vendors and setting up SSO integrations. It also doesn't offer the same level of responsive design flexibility that some competing platforms provide.

“Single entry saves time”

Pros

I really appreciate entering data just once and having it automatically flow out to multiple vendors.

Cons

It would be even better if I could create customized reports more easily without needing specialized software.
