Polished user-interface

Pros

I find the interface clean and simple to move around which makes the product simple to navigate. There's also plenty of room for it to grow and improve over time.

Cons

The biggest challenge for us right now is that not many people are aware of this product yet and it still seems to be about 2-3 years away from reaching a mainstream audience.

all-in-one hiring platform

Pros

Having UK-based support and a single interface to handle everything from advertising through to hiring has been a real plus. It gives the whole process a consistent flow from beginning to end, so anyone involved in recruitment, or even someone stepping in temporarily, can log in, see exactly where things were left and carry everything forward without confusion. I also appreciate that campaigns can be saved, put on hold and restarted whenever needed. The platform is very user friendly as well; I'm not a dedicated recruiter and I'm far from a heavy tech user, yet with only basic experience I was still able to create, upload and manage job adverts without much trouble. One of the biggest advantages, though, is the integration with multiple hiring sites which lets us post vacancies across several platforms at the same time.

Cons

At times, it does seem like the company puts more of its attention toward bigger clients. As a smaller business, the first impression can be that companies like ours may get pushed aside a little because of the focus on large organisations. I wouldn't say this is something we actively dislike, because it's fairly understandable but it can leave you feeling a bit like the second-string team. Another downside was the lack of an option to try a proper live working version on a demo basis. Instead, you have to book a demo and wait for someone to contact you and it ends up feeling more like a sales presentation than a hands-on trial, usually lasting at least an hour.

Effective recruitment time saver

Pros

Since rolling it out in March 2014, I've used the system to fill more than 20 roles across the UK. Vacancy Filler has worked especially well for IT and other professional vacancies, cutting down the time hiring managers need to spend while also improving the experience for candidates. Communication with applicants is built right into the shortlisting, testing and interview stages which keeps everything much more organized. Another big plus is that expired vacancies are taken down automatically, so people can't apply after the deadline has passed. We've also lowered costs through Vacancy Filler's integrated job board service which has helped reduce agency fees while improving both the quality and volume of applicants. On top of that, spending on print ads, postage and stationery has gone down and being able to manage applicant communication and interview scheduling from one central place saves a lot of time. Because it's cloud-based, new features keep being introduced regularly. I've recently launched the customized application forms as well and the training and support have been excellent.

Cons

One thing I'd still like is the ability to handle even more of the recruitment process directly within the platform. I'm currently considering early adoption of the request-to-recruit and new starter onboarding workflow modules.
