“Meets almost all our requirements
Pros
We use this software to manage the schedules of police personnel. POSS gives us a clear view of the schedule, shows who's off or sick and tracks their current assignments. Plus it is extremely easy to use and implement, thanks to excellent support from the team.
Cons
The only downside I can think of is that since we host our own server rather than using the cloud solution, updates need to be scheduled and manually installed by VCS. As they don't push updates automatically or provide downloadable updates.

This software is very simple and easy to navigate.
Cons
In my opinion the printing functions could be improved especially when it comes to printing weekly and monthly schedules.

“Speeds up bonus process but transition was challenging
Pros
We recently transitioned from an older version of the tool, where we needed a long list of approvals for bonus payouts. This new tool has significantly reduced the time spent on bonus calculations, approval requests and has made the entire process much faster.
Cons
The introduction phase was a bit challenging particularly since we switched from a much older system that we had used for years.

“Amazing support but rocky switch to web
Pros
Well we have been using VCS (POSS) for years. The switch to the web version was a bit rocky at first but overall, it's been a very positive change and much needed. Their support team is amazing too and they keep improving the software.
Cons
Some features like the shift bid module, follow their original setup. For example officers have a time limit to pick their shifts and if they don't choose in time, they are skipped. Also there is no way to turn this off. I think if an officer is busy with an active case, they should not be skipped for not picking a shift on time. Plus it would be better if this option was available from the start instead of waiting for VCS to add it after multiple complaints.

“Mobile-friendly but needs more features
Pros
I like that it is web-based and offers a mobile-friendly version for certain features.
Cons
Well I would like to see more features available on the mobile version. Additionally it would be great if defects could be fixed more quickly. I have reported a few but if they have been fixed, I have not been informed.

About it I like the transparency and being able to see the schedule well ahead of time.

It can be a bit confusing for new users especially with more advanced options.

“Feature-packed but slow to address issues
Pros
The program is packed with features and I like that it can be customized for a wide range of applications.
Cons
When issues arise they are not always addressed promptly. If they are addressed, it can take time. Also I noticed many things work differently between the desktop and web versions which can cause confusion.
