“Interactive trademark management
Pros
I honestly think Alt Legal's docketing software and daily emails are essential for any Trademark practice. Beyond just being easy to use, the marketing data has been a game-changer. It's allowed my small firm to really compete by helping us assist unrepresented parties at the Trademark Office. It's an incredible product all around and the team behind it is second to none.
Cons
NO CONS. All the features are top-notch. But.. just to give you a suggestion since you asked for one, I think a slightly more robust section for TTAB docketing could be really helpful.

“Customer service that shines
Pros
Their team is always so helpful and quick to respond. The software itself just makes it way easier for me to stay on top of all my IP.
Cons
honestly my favorite part might be the support team. Whenever I have run into a little glitch with the software, the team has been super responsive and actually helpful.

“USPTO updates without stress
Pros
It is a really powerful docketing tool especially for solos or small firm practitioners like me. With real-time USPTO updates, docketing domestic cases is a total smooth. I can also add custom dates, monitor competitors, watch applications and even see when clients or potential clients are filing new stuff. Plus their customer service is responsive and friendly always willing to help.
Cons
Okay so my one little con is that I wish the next task would just pop in automatically. Since the info gets pulled from the USPTO, as soon as something new posts, I go in and manually enter the next step myself just to be safe. You also have to manually enter foreign marks and TTAB stuff but the platform keeps getting better so I am hoping more automation there saves me time soon. I have no doubt those upgrades are coming.

“Time saving IP software
Pros
it saves me time which directly puts money in my pocket. Instead of manually entering client trademark info into a spreadsheet, it auto-populates everything from the USPTO right into my docket. The daily email alerts me to any changes or deadlines so I don't have to spend hours looking it up myself or pay someone else to do it. I also really love the Clio integration, it auto-populates deadlines onto my Clio calendar which eliminates any chance of human error. It's a true time-saver that translates into a money-maker for me.
Cons
One thing I'd really find helpful is the ability to track competing marks. Like if a client is opposing another mark being able to keep an eye on that other application as it moves through the process would be a game-changer.

“simple workflow for attorneys
Pros
What I appreciate most is the ease of use. It's not overly complicated. When you are juggling over a thousand active trademark files like I am, having a system that's easy to use and sends you daily deadline reminders is an absolute life-saver.
Cons
The search function can be a little buggy sometimes. I am only mentioning it because you asked for a "con",honestly, it's not a big deal for me at all.

“The gold standard for tm attorneys
Pros
I researched alot of other IP docketing options and I can confidently say it is the best! The software is amazing at keeping track of all my ongoing trademark deadlines. The intake forms fit perfectly with how my modern firm runs, setting everything up in one place quickly and easily. And their customer service? Excellent and actually personable. I seriously recommend it to every trademark attorney I know.
Cons
I've had zero issues. I am really really happy with it! Hehe

“User friendly & exceptionally responsive
Pros
Both the trademark docketing platform and the customer support are outstanding. I've found the software to be super user-friendly and capable and the support team is exceptionally responsive and genuinely helpful every time I reach out. I also really appreciate the regular docketing updates and reminders they send via email.
Cons
I'd love to see a monthly docketing email update or reminder. Right now, we have daily and weekly options but a monthly summary would be a great addition for the big-picture stuff.

“No more sleepless nights
Pros
Well It just works. It reliably tracks all my trademark filings with the USPTO and makes docketing a very easy. I don't have sleepless nights anymore worrying about missing a deadline or if my system is failing. Those daily email updates on filing events are great too and they give me that extra peace of mind that I'm not missing anything important for my clients.
Cons
Nothing so far. We have been using it for about six months now and haven't had a single hitch.

“Built for trademark prosecution
Pros
It was built from the ground up with trademark prosecution in mind. Even though it handles copyrights and patents, its real strength is clearly in docket management for a trademark-heavy practice like mine. The auto-docketing feature is magic, it picks up triggers from the USPTO so if I file an office action response, I don't have to touch the docket. its just updates it automatically. It's so simple and foolproof. It takes so much of the docketing burden off me and my staff, letting us focus on billable work. Plus because it's cloud-based and the interface is interactive, anyone on my team can jump in and find a status without any real training. Migration was virtually painless, too...they held my hand through the whole export/import process.
Cons
So docketing patents is not quite as smooth as trademarks on here. I get that it's partly because the USPTO's patent database (PAIR) is harder for them to "scrape" than the trademark one (TSDR). So no auto-docketing for patents. BUT, they have done a good job creating standard entries that make it fairly easy to update. There's definitely room for improvement though since not every firm manages cases the same way. For example, we use RCEs a lot but the software's default seems to assume you'll appeal. We just work around it by making custom entries to alert us at the milestones that matter for how we manage a case.
