Feels satisfying to use

Pros

it has been a really satisfying tool to use especially because the interface feels dynamic and user-friendly. It makes work much more comfortable and I would definitely recommend it.

Cons

I did notice that the integrations are not always completely clear and at times they can be a bit confusing.

excited to use it

Pros

Navigating the interface feels very simple and I really appreciate the custom fields and search tools. There are also plenty of useful features we still haven't explored yet which makes me excited to keep getting more out of it.

Cons

The expense billing part doesn't fully handle what we need yet although we're still working on finding a comparable solution.

Unlimited storage for legal documents

Pros

Having unlimited storage for legal documents is a big plus because we never have to worry about running out of space. Compared with more general software, Clio is built specifically for legal matters and legal files and that tailored setup makes a real difference. It also supports billing and payment processing which is helpful. Overall Clio does a good job of keeping us on top of deadlines and helping us stay organized.

Cons

Some features promoted by Clio are actually handled through third-party providers which means extra setup and, in some cases, added costs. Also, the legal calendar is not my favorite and definitely not the best one I've used.

saves time and money

Pros

Time and cost savings are what matter most in any business and that's exactly where Clio delivers. It has saved me a huge amount of time that I used to spend dealing with large volumes of data, much of it disorganized and it has also cut costs that would have come with handling everything in the traditional way. Clio feels like an automated secretary that takes care of almost everything, communications, finances, data management and even reports on professional and financial performance over different periods. That level of coverage is genuinely impressive and very complete. It also offers excellent tools that let me run my business from anywhere at any time and that really feels like the future of business.

Cons

Even with all the benefits Clio offers, the user interface could still be improved to make the overall experience better and less complicated. It would help a lot if new users did not have to spend as much time learning how to use the application. I also think the Clio team should invest more in artificial intelligence especially for tasks that could be handled through voice commands. That would make things much more convenient in the future and could help the platform stay ahead in its field for years to come.

strong set of features

Pros

It has been the most suitable option for billing and invoicing and it comes with a strong set of features like quick billing and faster processing.

Cons

Sending receipts by email takes more time than it should and that part of the functionality does not work as effectively as expected.

Everything stays Organized

Pros

Clio does a really good job of keeping everything organized and we can get into our cases from just about anywhere. That mobility matters a lot for us since we meet with clients both in the office and out of it.

Cons

One frustration has been the lack of training on how to use Clio to its fullest. We've asked for onboarding and training materials for new hires but never really got the kind of support we were hoping for. Luckily, the platform is user-friendly enough that we can usually manage without a detailed tutorial.

Exactly what we were looking for

Pros

After searching for something like this for quite a while, it ended up being exactly what we needed. The layout is simple and user-friendly which makes it easy for both lawyers and marketers to review data and keep track of cases, revenue and other key information. Their support team has also been very responsive and helpful whenever questions come up and need attention.

Cons

An issue we've run into is with the accuracy of Clio's data reporting. It seems like something that should be a fairly simple fix but until it gets resolved, we're still relying on our other analytics tools for truly accurate data analysis.

Helpful reporting options

Pros

Pulling reports by lead source and case type is really simple which makes it useful for reviewing where cases are coming from.

Cons

A lot of details still have to be entered manually since the system doesn't automatically track things like whether a lead was paid organic and similar categories.

Pros

Using Clio feels easy and the integration with Google Calendar is especially useful.

Cons

It seems to be missing some features. It worked well years ago but the newer updates feel focused on different needs.

solid case handling and intake

Pros

Working on the administrative side of the firm, I appreciated that the legal team could stay on top of case management while I handled potential client intake and the billing process without much trouble.

Cons

During our trial of the software, I still preferred the billing setup in our previous case management system.

Hassle-free billing

Pros

Keeping track of client payments with it has been really convenient. It helps me manage billing without much hassle and even sends reminders whenever I miss a payment. Booking an appointment with an expert is also very quick and can be done right from my fingertips. It's also simple to keep bills and payments organized.

Cons

The reminder feature is useful but it can get a bit too persistent. It keeps buzzing again and again until I either turn it off or mark it as done which gets a little frustrating.

Misleading case management claims

Pros

It's a solid tool for managing a law practice.

Cons

Clio really doesn't help with handling legal cases. As a legal case management system, I'd rate it 1 star, mainly because it presents itself as something it isn't. If Clio called itself a first-person shooter game instead, I'd still give it 1 star.

stellar support every time

Pros

One thing that really stands out with Clio is the support team. They've been incredibly fast, helpful and consistent whenever I've had questions. Anytime I call, I'm connected to a real person in under a minute which is honestly rare and makes a huge difference.

Cons

I'd still like to see more flexibility in the custom fields especially the option to use contacts as a field. For instance, it would be helpful to enter a contact as the executor for a will within a document. I also find it a little clunky to use Clio Grow templates to fill fields in documents I already have.

5.0

affordable law practice hub

Pros

Running my law firm has become much more easier with Clio because I use it every day for case management and invoicing. I also recently realized I can store all of my case files and documents right inside Clio instead of keeping them in Google Docs like I used to. At this point, nearly everything I need to operate my practice can be handled directly within the platform. It's incredibly helpful and the cost is much more affordable than I expected.

Cons

One thing that continues to frustrate me is the "Detailed Annual Report" that appears on the dashboard when I log in. I really wish it reflected my income correctly but it never seems to be accurate. Some of that may be due to how I handle billing. About half of my matters are billed as flat fees yet Clio seems to require invoices for both my hourly matters and my flat-fee matters. Creating separate invoices for flat-fee clients takes extra time so I often end up putting it off. I wish Clio would simply recognize income from flat-fee matters when I transfer funds from Trust.

Pros

Creating and tracking invoices is very simple, the detailed reports are an absolute lifesaver and their support team is truly outstanding.

Cons

The new Clio payment platform still has a few kinks to work out but I'm confident they'll refine it and improve the report generation over time.
