“Modern platform for freelancers”
Pros
The clean, contemporary design of Contra does more than just look good, it actively helps freelancers connect with clients and showcase their work in a way that feels intuitive and professional
Cons
Because the platform is still growing there are sometimes fewer available projects compared with larger, more established freelance marketplaces.

“amazing gigs and portfolio boost”
Pros
Joining this platform has been a fantastic move for my freelance work. It's helped me connect with high-quality gigs and work with brands and projects I probably wouldn't have accessed otherwise. Getting started was simple and setting up a polished portfolio site plus applying for open gigs felt very smooth. The support team and community have also been incredibly helpful. At this point, I manage basically my entire freelance workflow on Contra and use it every day. I'd definitely recommend it.
Cons
Building trust and landing clients can take a little while at first. That said staying consistent with applications and making sure your portfolio is really strong makes a big difference and you should be in a good position.

“Commission-free freelancer favorite”
Pros
It is miles ahead of the other freelancing platforms that don't even deserve a mention.
Cons
Back in 2022 when I first came across this tool, the team made me feel supported right away. Starting out as a new freelancer, that kind of help meant a lot and the fact that they don't take commission still feels unbelievable. Setting up a portfolio is simple and the platform is very user-friendly so it walks you through adding case studies, services and everything else. I really can't recommend it enough.

“Friendly and polished”
Pros
This tool genuinely feels built with freelancers in mind. The interface is clean and simple to navigate, without all the clutter and extra distractions that show up on other platforms. I really appreciate that they don't take a percentage of my earnings. It's also a big plus that I can build a professional-looking profile, showcase my services and share case studies all in one place. On top of that, messaging and communicating with clients has been smooth.
Cons
It doesn't have the same volume of client opportunities as the larger platforms yet though that's pretty understandable for a newer service. I'm excited to watch it grow and bring in more clients over time.

“freelancer-first platform”
Pros
I find this tool really opens up a whole new world. It keeps you current with the latest tools and what the market is looking for and on top of that, you can pick up gigs from the full job board. Another big plus is that you can also bring your own outside clients, handle everything through Contra and even get rewarded for doing it.
Cons
They keep launching more and more improvements every day to help freelancers find work on the platform.. better management tools, SEO campaigns centered around us..it's honestly wild how much they prioritize freelancers.

“Rewarding platform !!”
Pros
As a web designer, it has made freelancing feel much more organized. The zero-commission setup is a huge win because I get to keep everything I earn and put that money right back into building my business. Their project-matching system has connected me with fantastic clients without the usual endless pitching or wasting time digging through listings. The platform itself looks polished, feels simple and is very clearly built around what freelancers actually need. On top of that, the team is outstanding .. I've even met a few of them in person and their passion for creating the best possible platform for independent professionals really comes through.
Cons
Since it is still expanding there are fewer opportunities at the moment in some of the niche areas I work in. I'd really like to see more of my ideal clients join the platform especially in the industries where I have the deepest experience. Still, it feels like that will improve naturally as Contra keeps growing.

“all-in-one freelance hub”
Pros
This makes it really simple to manage freelance work from beginning to end. You can use it to find new projects, handle contracts and invoices, show off your work and build out a portfolio all in one place. The layout feels simple and having everything centralized makes it much easier to stay organized.
Cons
One thing I really value is the transparency. Your reputation score is visible so you can clearly see how you stack up against others in your field. It also links your tool skills to your profile and gives you flexible options for presenting past projects.

“feedback acted on genuinely”
Pros
Getting paid without any commission being taken out is a huge plus since you receive exactly what you're meant to earn. On top of that the customer support has been excellent. They actually pay attention to feedback and take action on it. Most of the features they roll out are genuinely useful, both for experienced freelancers and for people just starting out.
Cons
New users may struggle to get hired through the job feed. Another issue is the new community feature being unavailable to beginners and it can take a fairly long time before access is granted.

“Outstanding team response”
Pros
After trying platforms like Fiverr, Indeed and Upwork, Contra is the only freelance marketplace I've used that genuinely feels built around the freelancer's best interests. Those other sites often turn into a race to the bottom, where the people willing to undervalue their work the most get rewarded with the cheapest possible rates. Contra feels very different. Freelancers seem to be evaluated based on merit and the opportunities posted there also appear to be curated with a much higher standard. I've rarely come across listings that expect a massive amount of work for next to nothing and on the few occasions where I did see projects with misleading rates, they were removed quickly. Honestly I can't think of a single bad thing to say about the platform. The team has been outstanding, usually replying within minutes whenever I've reached out during the past two years. I can also speak to their professionalism and character directly since I worked with them as a contractor on a client testimonial production project. Overall Contra feels like a real shift in the freelance platform space and to me, it sits at the very top.
Cons
At this point I really don't have any complaints about the platform. I've used Contra for two years now and have had incredible results, including more organic reach for my work than I've gotten anywhere else.

“changed how i find clients with quality work”
Pros
After four years working as a freelance designer this is the first platform that completely changed how I find clients. I no longer struggle to get new work and the clients I connect with are actually good clients who value design quality and are willing to pay for it without acting like they are doing me a favor. Contra made a huge difference for me. Setting everything up was smooth and it gave me a perfect way to present my work, pricing and personality. At this point, almost all of my work comes through Contra and I use it every single day because it fits naturally into my workflow. On top of that, the customer support is incredible. Whenever I or others in the community suggest features, the team makes sure people feel heard and they actively respond. It honestly feels bigger than just a platform. It feels like a movement and I cannot recommend Contra highly enough.
Cons
Honestly I have nothing negative to say at all.
