“Fast disclosures, better value”
Pros
Handling disclosure deadlines and reviewing the other party's documents is quick and efficient with this platform. The invoices are simple so clients can understand them without any confusion. It's user-friendly overall and the subscription has helped us save both time and money.
Cons
We really don't have any major complaints. It doesn't include every feature Relativity offers but it covers everything we actually need at a much lower cost. The only minor frustration is that the dual authentication and security steps can feel a bit excessive during login.

“outstanding support and simple binder system”
Pros
Digital WarRoom feels very familiar right away because the interface looks a lot like Office and similar applications, with ribbons and standard keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl-C for copy and Ctrl-A for select all. That makes it very quick to learn and comfortable to use. The binder system is also really simple for saving search results and it is simple to explain and document for other reviewers. On top of that, creating large document productions is very simple. The customer and technical support from DWR is honestly the best I have ever worked with for any software or hardware company in more than 35 years of my career.
Cons
I am sure there are still a few small areas that could be improved but everything I have come across so far has already been addressed through updates and newer releases.

“helpful support and clear invoices”
Pros
Getting started as a new user is very simple and the invoices are simple to read and understand. The help desk team has also been excellent whenever assistance is needed.
Cons
To me the interface still feels cluttered especially for people who are just starting out. It would be better if the standard filtering and advanced filtering were merged into a single screen. The production workflow can also be confusing for new users and adding more step-by-step icons would make the process clearer. The difference between Review and Production is hard to explain to new users and renaming Production to make it clearer that it refers to a production coming out of DWR would help. PDF-only productions from opposing counsel also do not appear on the Production side which adds to the confusion. It would also be useful to have the option to populate Bates number columns for productions from other parties.

“excellent fit and support”
Pros
Compared with Relativity, this fits our current operation much better. Hosted Relativity was far too slow when moving from one document to another during review and bringing it behind our firewall felt excessive.... not to mention very expensive both upfront and over time to maintain. Digital WarRoom hits the right balance for what we need right now. The customer support has been outstanding. Getting this level of hands-on, consultative help from vendors is usually either impossible or incredibly expensive so that has been a huge plus. The RDP connection to a remote server also works far better for us than browser-based review tools or the upkeep that comes with platforms installed behind our own firewall. Overall it has been a very positive experience.
Cons
One limitation comes up when LFN (long file names/paths) go beyond 256 characters since that can create issues getting those paths into the processing console in a way that really only a Nuix-type setup can handle. A few other features could still be improved or feel a little lacking but taken as a whole, the product and especially the level of service are excellent particularly for the price.

“flexible imports and full control”
Pros
Having this level of flexibility has been a big plus. It is user-friendly and adaptable and we can import PSTs, loose files and Concordance-style productions on our own instead of waiting around for a vendor. It lets us narrow documents by date range, file type and keyword searches, then export reports showing those results. Those reports are useful when negotiating search terms and date ranges. Setting up custom marks and issues for tagging is simple. We handle our own searches, export both reports and documents and create Bates-numbered PDFs as well as Concordance-style TIFF productions with load files and metadata. It really covers the full range of what we need.
Cons
There is definitely a learning curve. With DWR, we are now taking on the work our eDiscovery vendors used to handle, like validating searches and making sure we do not produce privileged documents or duplicates of privileged material. The platform does include built-in searches and checks but we have to stay on top of using them regularly instead of leaving everything until production time. On the wish list, it would be helpful to have multiple layouts for first pass review, final pass, deposition prep and more user-customized views. I also wish it could generate searchable PDFs directly. Right now, we have to export the PDFs to our computers and use Acrobat separately to make them searchable.

“secure platform with outstanding support”
Pros
Digital WarRoom has been a powerful, secure platform for handling document review and production. On top of that, the team behind the company has been incredibly supportive of our legal nonprofit and has delivered excellent customer service and support throughout.
Cons
The platform does come with a bit of a learning curve at first but it's definitely manageable.

“affordable production workflow”
Pros
Compared with other tools we evaluated, this is much more budget-friendly while still being just as powerful as most of them. We can use it throughout the entire process, starting with the initial data review and continuing all the way through production. It also handles output well, with proper load files and exports available in multiple image formats like single-page TIFF, multi-page TIFF and multi-page PDFs without any problems.
Cons
Accessing the software through an RDP connection can be a little confusing for some users at first but it really hasn't caused any overall issues and does provide a more secure connection.

“Powerful litigation database partner”
Pros
Since 2012, I've relied on DWR Pro and it has consistently performed as well as and sometimes better than some of the most expensive e-discovery platforms out there. Our small firm deals with complex, document-heavy civil litigation and it covers everything we need. It handles databases with more than 1,000,000 documents very efficiently. DWR Pro has made high-end e-discovery capabilities accessible to us which helps us compete effectively with much larger defense firms. It has been absolutely worth the investment.
Cons
One area where DWR Pro could improve is de-duplication and email thread aggregation for adverse productions. We end up spending a lot of time reviewing different versions of the same document especially when opposing parties produce files in a disorganized way. The OCR engine also could be stronger although I understand version 9.1 may have improved that. We've run into a few other minor technical database issues over time but DWR's support team responds quickly every time and gets things resolved right away. No platform is flawless and I do appreciate how fast they are to address problems. It would also be helpful to have Technology Assisted Review features in DWR Pro, even as a paid add-on, to help reduce the noise in massive adverse productions. DWR Private Cloud may already be a possible option for that.
