It would be even better if document names could be generated automatically from tags within the document.

Honestly I haven't run into anything I disliked about DocuGenerate. Everything has worked well and felt reliable throughout.

Between the API and the web app, we were able to test and refine our DOCX templates pretty quickly. That made it much faster to validate DocuGenerate as the right fit for our custom web application. The pricing also scales nicely which is a big plus for projects that are just getting started with document automation.

I didn't run into any real downsides. If anything, I'd suggest making the platform more visible in this market since it took me months to come across DocuGenerate.

Connecting through the API was the simplest part and customer support was outstanding when I needed help with an invoicing update. They even offered to refund the months where the invoice had been incorrect which was honestly a 10/10 experience.

Nothing to complain about really. It's very simple to use. The only thing I'd ask for is maybe a $10 plan for people who only need around 100 documents since that's all we use but overall it's been very good.

One thing that could be improved in the DocuGenerate interface is the section where generated documents are stored since it feels a bit too small. Expanding that area would make it easier for regular users to find their generated documents day to day.

Generating lots of forms from a prefilled Excel sheet is really convenient and saves a lot of time.

Data-point selection from the Excel navigation pane feels a bit laggy since it takes too many clicks for every row. A click-and-drag option would be a nice improvement when selecting entries across consecutive rows.

Getting this into my app was very simple which was a big plus. After setting it up, I spent time going through a number of articles on the DocuGenerate website to understand the platform better and see which other features might be useful for me down the line.

I noticed that even when a document generation failed because of a typo, it still deducted one from my monthly document generator count. That said the team was friendly and helped reset the counter which made things much easier to manage.
