“online access, clunky navigation”
Pros
One thing I appreciate most about Tyler Enterprise Justice is that it makes it possible to access legal documents online.
Cons
Aside from that almost everything else is frustrating. The system is difficult to navigate and it's often unclear what I'm actually supposed to do.

“remote filing with frustrating glitches”
Pros
Being able to submit documents remotely is very convenient, keeps costs down and makes the filing process more accessible.
Cons
One ongoing issue is that our office has to work with two different e-filing systems depending on the county. This particular system has far too many glitches along with repetitive prompts and unnecessary features. Even though it looks fairly simple at first, filings are often delayed some do not go through at all and there is no reliable assurance that proof of filing or acceptance will be available. It becomes even more troublesome when filing after business hours or on weekends because help is not available until the courts reopen and even then you are usually sent back to Tyler Technologies. The customer service staff may be polite but they are not especially helpful. Overall the experience is incredibly frustrating.

“user-friendly electronic filing”
Pros
Switching to a fully electronic filing system with Odyssey has worked out really well for us. Staff picked it up without much trouble and the interface is laid out in a way that feels very user-friendly especially for people who are new to the system.
Cons
There are occasional minor glitches now and then but I personally haven't experienced any serious problems with it.

“Filing saves time”
Pros
Instead of leaving the office to file documents, everything can be submitted right from here which also cuts out the cost of mailing filings to the courts. The system is very user friendly and I really appreciate that they don't charge per filing. Their fees are only added when the filing itself already has a cost.
Cons
One thing that stands out is Cook County now requires filing through Odyssey and that process is different from the other counties in Illinois. I'm just hoping it's not something I need to deal with very often.

“all-in-one court platform wins”
Pros
Having everything in one fully integrated system is a big advantage. It brings calendaring, case management, jail management, attorney management and financials together in one place which really organizes operations. If a state or county uses the full feature set, it can significantly cut down on overhead.
Cons
The biggest downsides are the lack of documentation, the shortage of true subject matter experts and the vendor's turnover. Once the system is implemented and running, it generally has very few problems on its own. That said it can expose and even magnify issues already present in the courts' environment, such as workstation problems, network setup issues and misconfigurations with IPS, IDS or firewalls.

“overpriced with outdated file types”
Pros
One useful part is that it lets you retrieve and print filed documents.
Cons
A lot of the documents come in TIFF format which feels outdated and the software is far too expensive for what it actually offers.
