reliable service you can count on

Pros

I selected this solution for our company to secure our Office 365 email service. After evaluation, I found it's an industry leading email gateway that works both as a cloud service or on premise deployment. Going with the cloud option was perfect since it integrates easily with Office 365 and handles Azure AD synchronization beautifully. What impressed me most is how it catches threats that other solutions miss, both known and unknown ones. I think the NexusAI machine learning technology really makes a difference in threat detection. Their support team deserves special mention too, whenever I report any issue they prioritize issues and resolve them quickly. Over the past 4 years since deployment, I haven't faced any major email security problems.

Cons

There aren't really any significant issues I've faced with this service. Our organization feels confident relying on it for our email security needs.

Impressive security toolkit that delivers

Pros

Customizing filtering policies works really well for my needs. Managing multiple domains through one interface saves me tons of time. The social media protection feature is a nice touch that I didn't expect. Searching through logs is super easy and whenever I've reached out to support, they've been quick to help.

Cons

Nothing comes to mind that I dislike so far.

Great email protection with excellent filtering

Pros

Managing users is incredibly easy, whether I'm creating new accounts, editing existing ones, or removing them entirely. The quarantine monitoring and organizational settings are just as simple to handle. Adding or removing domains for email relay couldn't be simpler either. After 13 years at my company, this is hands down the most effective email security solution I've encountered.

Cons

I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about this platform, it's incredibly powerful yet surprisingly user friendly. I would definitely recommend it to anyone without hesitation.

Strong filtering with some frustrations

Pros

This tool does a good job with spam filtering. The interface is easy to navigate and I appreciate receiving the daily spam journal emails.

Cons

Over the 7+ years we've used this system, there have been multiple outages that stopped our clients from getting emails. Sometimes I think the emails weren't just delayed, they were permanently lost which is really frustrating. The attachment scanning can be painfully slow too, I've waited up to 15 minutes for a simple PDF to get through. The archiving features are pretty weak as well, we actually had to move several clients to different archiving solutions because this tool just couldn't meet there needs.

Pros

I really appreciate how it blocks all those annoying emails from reaching my inbox and then lets me review what got filtered out.

efficient security solution

Pros

The feature I like about Proofpoint is that it keeps an eye on all our incoming messages and saves us from having to sort through tons of junk mail, spam and unwanted emails.

Cons

The email filtering can be frustrating for me since it blocks messages from our own company addresses. It dosen't make much sense when the system should recognize our organization's domain as safe. I think it would be great if it could learn which emails are internal and stop filtering those out.

reliable spam filtering with easy navigation

Pros

Email filtering capabilities are really great, it catches most of the spam I used to deal with manually. The automation features save me quite a bit of time since I can set up rules and let it handle repetitive tasks on its own.

Cons

Setup process was pretty confusing for me and my team, so we ended up needing multiple training sessions just to get everything configured properly.

Pros

The interface is incredibly easy and simple for me to navigate. Everything is laid out clearly, so I can find what I need without any issue.

Cons

Perfect Blend of Performance and Value

Pros

Found the perfect bundle that included everything I needed, cloud email gateway, spam filtering, threat protection and security training, all at a reasonable price. Other options either had too many unnecessary features or missed key components I wanted. Onboarding went really smoothly, especially since we'd just migrated to Office 365. The Proofpoint team made the whole process easy and they clearly know what they're doing. Tech support is incredibly responsive, you actually get a real technician when you call, not some tier 1 person who has to escalate everything. They jump straight into solving your problem which is refreshing. Even if there's a wait, the callback system works great and I've never waited more than 10 minutes. Having our email gateway in the cloud means email keeps flowing even when our headquarters goes down which is a huge advantage. The catch rate for spam and phishing is noticeably better than our previous highly rated filter. Phishing detection especially improved dramatically. For me managing global allow and block lists is easy, easy to add, change or delete entries and we could import everything from our old system without any issue. Love how they use "Filter Policies" instead of complex regular expressions. These are much easier to configure and incredibly flexible. I can prevent spoofing of key personnel, allow specific Mailchimp campaigns while blocking others and handle tons of other scenarios with ease. The email log interface is really user friendly for me. You can search quarantined emails specifically or browse everything, filter by sender/recipient/subject and manage allow lists directly from the log view. Releasing multiple quarantined emails at once is a nice time saver. Email encryption is built right in now, no more third party tools needed. The Outlook plugin makes it simple for users to encrypt when they want and I can set up automatic triggers for sensitive content like credit card or social security numbers. There's plenty more functionality here, pulling from their enterprise level technology to create a comprehensive solution.

Cons

Despite having experience with phishing campaigns from another tool, I haven't been able to figure out this part of the platform yet. I've attempted it a few times but keep getting stuck during the training phase. To be fair, my previous solution was also challenging to learn so this might be an unfair criticism but I really don't like when things are difficult to master!

Good Filtering Feature with Room for Growth

Pros

I really appreciate how this keeps my inbox clean from spam and unwanted sales emails. The daily digest feature is fantastic, it shows me everything that got filtered so I can quickly check if anything important was accidentally caught.

Cons

Sometimes crucial emails get filtered out and I don't realize it until the daily digest arrives which can lead to late replies.
