“Document handling is amazing”
Pros
Tracking down documents and emails is very simple and being able to attach both emails and files without any extra steps makes everything much more convenient.
Cons
My only real issue is with the Smokeball iOS app. I wish it were more user-friendly and offered more functionality so I could rely on it more when using my iPad while away from the office.

Whenever an issue comes up or I send in a suggestion, Smokeball's team responds incredibly fast. They're consistently helpful and always follow up afterward to make sure everything was actually fixed.
Cons
A few fields still don't auto-fill across other sections where the same details are needed, like Accident Facts. Because of that, you end up re-entering the same information for each party.

Running a small bankruptcy law firm, Smokeball covers everything we need in one place, matter management, time tracking, billing and communication. It also gives us a secure client portal for communicating with clients which is a big plus. On top of that, the support team is awesome.

Pros
From day one, the functionality, responsiveness and ongoing development have been consistently reliable. The AI time capture is incredibly useful and I really value the flexibility to write off, write down, discount or adjust the amount of information shown on a client bill. The search tools are strong and the a la carte InfoTrack services, including linked eFiling and DocuSign, plus the seamless integration with RingCentral and ScanSnap, made the shift to a remote office during the pandemic feel even more effortless.
Cons
I'm having a hard time coming up with anything I'm unhappy with.

Pros
This system covers just about everything needed to run a law firm. On top of that, the customer service team is always available and genuinely ready to help whenever support is needed.
Cons

Being able to tailor the automations to match the way our organization works has been the biggest plus for us, along with the billing system. It's very user-friendly and fits nicely into our workflow.
Cons
There's honestly not much to complain about with Smokeball. A few parts of the automation setup can feel a bit clunky at first but once you get the hang of it, it works just fine.

Even without any previous experience, just about anyone should be able to use the program without much trouble. I really enjoy the mail merge feature for populating documents and it saves me a lot of time.
Cons
Tutorials were hard to locate. It also took some effort to understand where the mail merge was pulling the information from.

It has continued to evolve right along with our firm's needs which has been a huge plus. Their team is open to feedback, listens to improvement suggestions and genuinely works with customers to make the product better. The forms and document assembly features are essential to how we use the software day to day. Its integration with Office and Outlook also makes everything feel seamless. I would absolutely recommend this case management software.

After working with other systems before, it has stood out as a highly efficient platform. The form library and the way it's set up for real estate transactional law are incredibly well organized and I haven't come across another management system that matches it.
Cons
Honestly there's not much to complain about since I'm happy with just about everything. The only thing I'd love to see is a client app that would let clients access documents directly.

The reporting tools just aren't solid enough for what we need. CRM functionality is little to none and it doesn't connect with many other software providers. It's also complex to duplicate client matters and track down files for a single client with multiple matters.
