“simple interface
Pros
What I really like about it is the simple interface combined with accurate ASR and a strong customer-focused approach. I use it daily and having it fully integrated into our system makes everything smoother for me.
Cons
One downside I've found is that it doesn't provide a peer-to-peer option, I have to sign a contract before I can use their service.

“flawless captions under tight deadlines
Pros
Back during the COVID lockdowns, I turned to it when my college moved fully online. Every lecture needed captions and doing them myself would have taken forever. Using it saved me countless hours by delivering near-flawless captions, usually within one business day. The platform was easy to use, supported multiple export formats and worked easily with tools like YouTube. I honestly don't know how I would have managed without it and I strongly recommend it to anyone who needs fast, accurate captions without extra hassle.
Cons
I can't find anything I dislike about it, it was simple to pick up, user-friendly and incredibly convenient.

“Simple scheduling
Pros
What I personally appreciate is being able to schedule live captioning directly through a web page. It makes tracking what's booked and what still needs scheduling very simple and convenient for me.
Cons
At one point we experienced a file-transfer problem but the it team stepped in and sorted it out for us.

“Fast processing with useful AI summaries
Pros
At Bisk, I work with multiple it accounts across departments. From a marketing standpoint, I rely heavily on how quickly I can upload, transcribe and timestamp student testimonials. After minimal training, anyone on our team can help process content and pull useful clips. I've also been impressed by the new AI features, especially the Summarize tool which fits easily into our documentation workflow and delivers surprisingly accurate results.
Cons
I can see a number of areas where it could improve. The UX takes some time to get comfortable with. Although I believe the platform includes the necessary features, it's not always obvious where they live or what they do. The recently added AI tools are helpful but the interface feels clunky and makes me worry that team members might overlook capabilities simply because they can't locate them. There are a lot of small icons scattered throughout the UI, it would help to congreatate those into a single menu or centralized area and pair them with descriptive text to boost the app's accessibility and overall usability. Finally, long transcripts can be hard to digest when they're not broken up with natural spacing. I think AI-powered natural language processing could be applied to automatically segment transcripts into more readable, digestible parts for users.

When I receive completed assignments, they usually need little to no editing. From my experience, reaching customer support is easy because they respond quickly and are genuinely helpful.
Cons

Overall, I find this tool excellent for producing closed captions quickly and making content more accessible. The turnaround time helps me meet tight deadlines and the integrations with platforms like Vimeo mean I don't have to re-upload files which saves me extra steps.
Cons
One downside I've noticed with it is that every so often a video just fails to get captioned and there's no obvious explanation. It might be related to the file's formatting or some other issue but more often than I'd like I end up having to dig around and troubleshoot to figure out what went wrong before I can get the captions to process properly.

Adjusting captions is simple and doesn't feel tedious. The subtitles stay reliably accurate which gives me confidence when publishing content.
Cons
the app stalls frequently, making it difficult to jump ahead without it freezing, then it drops back into a slow playback speed and I have to manually speed it up again every time.

I really like how simple it is to pull up transcripts and tweak the wording directly. It even flags instances marked as 'inaudible,' so I can quickly go in, double-check those sections and make corrections.
Cons
Occasionally the Vimeo integration will drop its connection and I'm left unsure whether the system actually applied my edited transcript to the video, I have to go back and confirm manually which can be frustrating.

“Faster turnaround than promised
Pros
For our use case, the application performs really well and the turnaround on our files is significantly faster than what our contract specifies. Almost always we get same-day turnaround even when we choose their five-day option.
Cons
After the contract was finalized, neither a sales rep nor an account manager reached out to us again and we were left without any follow-up from their team.

“Accurate ada-compliant captions at scale
Pros
At my higher-ed institution, when we supply captions they have to comply with ADA standards, so people review the AI-produced captions. For the most part, it turns captions around really quickly which matters a lot when students with accommodations are waiting for a video to be accessible. The accuracy is consistently excellent. Working in a medical setting means we deal with a huge number of specialized terms but we can send it lists and documentation of our terminology so the human reviewers, who might not know every term, can improve the caption accuracy.
Cons
Like I mentioned earlier, overall we're pleased with it. Every so often there's a slowdown in caption turnaround times which can be frustrating. I don't have a solution for that problem, I'm simply bringing the occasional delay to it's attention.

For our team, it's a focused solution instead of engaging a dedicated closed-captioning vendor. The interface feels pretty user-friendly and offers multiple captioning modes to choose from. I also appreciate the live-staffed support chat in the portal that quickly helps with questions, setup and other configurations.
Cons
There isn't an option to have live captions that are powered by a human representative when we're using the RTMP streaming setup. This creates a real problem for our event scope because we're trying to achieve the clearest possible closed captions that precisely mirror what our presenters say.

What truly stands out to me is the level of care it's support team provides. Every time I reach out, my concerns are handled quickly and thoroughly and that dependability has never slipped. Even though I joined later and made several special requests, they've always gone the extra mile to help. My students consistently share positive feedback and I can tell the company is committed to improving what they offer. I'm especially grateful for my rep, David, who keeps me informed about updates and genuinely listens to my suggestions. The new GenV release also looks promising and I'm confident students will benefit from its learning-focused features.
Cons
There are a couple of things I don't like about the service. First, the 'quarterly' billing isn't truly quarterly in practice, if my usage exceeds what they invoiced, they can charge me again before the next quarter begins. That caught me off guard. Second, making a late booking mistake can be costly in a way that feels almost permanent, the extra charges stick unless I contact my account rep to ask for a reversal. Even when I correct a request only minutes after submitting it, I still need their help to get the fee removed. My advice is to be extremely vigilant when scheduling last-minute appointments: double- and triple-check every detail to avoid unexpected charges.

“Reliable portal and lms integration
Pros
Using both the stand-alone it portal and the Canvas LMS connection has been very dependable. I can submit jobs either way and everything moves along smoothly without issues which makes managing tasks much easier for me.
Cons
At the moment I cannot search using the Kaltura Unique ID number.
