“Useful lessons and grammar support

Pros

Babbel gives you a lot of different ways to approach learning which is really helpful when you want to work on a language from multiple angles even if it can feel a bit overwhelming at times. I appreciate that it includes a more traditional, formal lesson format since that is something a lot of other platforms do not really offer anymore. The app also has its own version of lessons that feel a bit more like Duolingo style practice but I prefer that this software does it without leaning so heavily into gamification and the vocabulary and phrases are actually practical. The grammar explanations are also valuable because it is hard to make proper progress without understanding how the language works.

Cons

At times the amount of content and information can feel like too much. The AI conversation feature also still needs quite a bit of improvement since it does not feel very flexible right now.

Pros

Getting started with this software feels very approachable because the platform is so user friendly. Learning a new language at my age is not always the simplest thing but I genuinely enjoy using it. The games and interactive activities also make the whole process more fun and keep learning from feeling boring.

Cons

It will not turn you into a fluent speaker unfortunately but it is still a really solid starting point for building your language skills. It teaches the basics and honestly the basics are good enough for me. A strong foundation can still take you pretty far.

The app is very flexible since it can be used anywhere and at any time, whether on a smartphone, computer or other devices. Another strong point is that you can study independently but there are also video lessons with certified tutors if you want extra support.

The only downside although I would not really call it a major one, is that only 14 languages are currently available.

Something I really appreciated about it was how seriously and quickly it helps you build knowledge of a foreign language. The homepage is very clear and easy for anyone who wants to use the software and the fact that it works across multiple devices makes it much more convenient for users. It's also simple to use overall.

Cons

The only aspect I liked less was the pricing plans which in my opinion are a bit too expensive even if they do still justify the price the software asks.

One of its biggest strengths is how flexible the app is. The courses are very well organized, there is a strong focus on communication and the lessons use real life content and situations that actually happen. Another big plus is being able to study multiple languages at the same time.

Cons

On the downside it depends entirely on an internet connection so it does not work without one. It also requires a financial commitment since it comes with costs and there are some limitations when it comes to advanced level learning.

Pros

I was able to improve my English and French quickly and without much effort. Now I've started Spanish and German and I'm really looking forward to using the platform again.

It may feel a bit expensive for some people but the quality is extremely high so it's worth it.

Another big advantage is that it works well for multicultural companies since it offers more than 13 languages to learn and develop.

Cons

Most of the drawbacks are tied to online learning apps in general: there is limited interaction, less cultural diversity and fewer opportunities for real language exchange.

I can't think of any downsides. It seems to cover everything well and the digital platform behind it has worked flawlessly for me the entire time.

Lessons and podcasts are really high quality! They can be challenging at times but that actually helps keep me interested and focused on the learning activities.

The interface is nicely simplified which makes everything easy to use. Switching between different languages is quick and having multiple languages included is really useful. It also helps that the mobile and desktop versions stay in sync and both offer a helpful experience.

One thing missing is better support for Asian languages like Japanese, Chinese and Korean.

My favorite part is the daily lessons that keep the learning consistent and approachable. It doesn't push you into complicated or overly advanced material right away. Instead it starts with the basics and gradually builds from there. I also really appreciate that the curriculum is centered on real life conversation which makes it feel useful from the start.

Cons

Something that could make it even better would be the ability to share progress with coworkers or learn together through the platform.
