Whether you're trying to pick up a new skill to strengthen your resume, refresh your home design or get better at a hobby just because you feel like it, you'll come across plenty of chances to expand what you can do.

As you work through different courses, the uneven quality of instructors can be a recurring challenge. It's unrealistic to expect every teacher on the platform to truly understand the basics of good instruction since teaching well is a skill that takes time and effort to develop.

“Makes employee training manageable”

Keeping employee training on track became much more manageable with Bites. During the pandemic, regular in-person meetings were hard to arrange and this platform made training far more practical and convenient for both admins and staff. It ended up being one of the best purchases we made all year.

The app can be a little slow at times though restarting it usually fixes the issue.

Pros

Having templates available was the biggest plus for me. I'm not very tech-savvy so being able to pick from ready-made videos gave me a lot more freedom to create my own content without feeling overwhelmed. I also really appreciated that the templates covered interesting topics which made them useful as conversation starters too. The subtitles were another standout feature especially when I'm watching videos in a noisy place and still need to follow along. On top of that, the option for new users to sign up using a personal mobile number was a nice touch. Not many apps offer that anymore so it was refreshing to have that choice.

the templates took quite a while to load. At first, I honestly thought my phone had frozen but after waiting a bit and tapping around a few times, the templates eventually appeared.

It really stands out for its learning, course and training management features. They deliver a lot of valuable training and knowledge for employees who want to learn on their own which makes a real difference in building skills and improving the overall training experience.

Cons

The activity dashboard is useful for keeping training broadcasts organized but the interface could be improved by adding folder options and better category-based organization.

This feels a lot like social media but for employee training and that's honestly what makes it appealing. Sharing business training content through a platform with that familiar social feel makes the whole experience more engaging.

Because it works like a social platform for business training, it would be even better if it included things like reels or a feed to browse. It would also help to have some public accounts to follow right after setting up a profile, maybe for ideas and inspiration. When a new account opens and it looks like no one else is active on the app, people are more likely to uninstall it or just forget about it since there's nothing pulling them back in.

This tool has been especially valuable for sharing important updates at work through short, focused videos. It helps us organize internal processes and the information is actually received and, when needed, learned in a much more engaging and accessible way.

Other than a few minor issues that were resolved quickly after we contacted the company, I really haven't run into any problems with the platform. Aside from that, we don't have any complaints about Bites.

“Budget-friendly and easy to use”

Pros

Its amazing how portable it is. I can build a "Bite" right in the app on my iPad while I'm standing in line at the pharmacy. It's also inexpensive and the video editing feels very user-friendly while still looking quite professional. Tracking is another big plus because it's very simple to see whether learners opened and watched the "Bite" or playlist and it's just as simple to monitor quiz progress. Another really valuable feature is how well Bites works for getting timely information out to entire teams. Several companies I work with use it to deliver important updates the same day and leadership can immediately see who watched the video and who still hasn't. A good example was an IT company supporting small to mid-size businesses when a Windows 10 update caused issues with the internal Meraki VPN. Microsoft released a patch but getting the fix explained consistently to remote staff was a challenge. The learning team quickly created a two-minute Bites video and sent the link to the Service Desk team so everyone received the same instructions at the same time and applied the same temporary fix.

My biggest frustrations are that each video only allows one question and the Summary/Teaching Content cards appear after the quiz question instead of before it.

Being able to speed up employee onboarding through the Bites I create has been the biggest advantage for me. Team engagement has gone up significantly which was exactly the challenge I needed to solve with my staff.

I honestly don't have anything to complain about at this point. Everything has been working properly and the platform is doing exactly what it's supposed to do.

Working with employees is much more simple with this software especially when it comes to communication and collaboration. It also really helps with onboarding new hires and running employee training and there are plenty of ways to do that, including the option to create bite-sized videos.

Cons

MS Teams integration is limited to the Business plan. If your organization already relies on MS Teams, that upgrade is pretty much necessary.

Having everything my company has already created gathered in one place is what I appreciate most about this product. It helps me keep the content better organized and makes it much simpler to share the right videos with my team.

A feature I've appreciated most on this platform is how simple it is to share Bites with my team through the communication tools we already rely on, like WhatsApp and Slack. It means nobody has to install another app just to watch our videos.
