“Excellent LMS and Training Software

Pros

When we started using Alchemy at our new manufacturing facility, we bought access to their onboarding and learning materials, including videos about food safety and GMP. This turned out to be a real time saver as we expanded, brought in new employees and needed to make sure they completed all required food safety and hazard training.

Cons

While Alchemy Learner is a useful tool I find it complicated to use and create our own training within the system. I would prefer if we could simply create a PDF from our document control system and upload that for learners rather than having to convert it into the file type used by Alchemy Learner. This extra step often requires additional formatting as the tool is used in MS PowerPoint and conversion frequently disrupts the layout, screenshots or other reference information from our PDF.

I really like Alchemy software for its versatility and effectiveness. plus the freedom it offers with reports, courses and user management is something I really likr.

Cons

I did like to see more alert notifications. It would also be helpful to upload employee photos in the user profile and have more search toolbars available when setting up reports.

Creating learning groups has been the easiest task with Alchemy. Additionally tech support has been excellent as the help is just a phone call away.

I would love to have the option to create specific learning paths, a feature that is currently in development.

The programs created by the company were quite informative, concise and compliant which l like the most

Making corrections in training records can be difficult at times. Some records show a lot of in progress status because employees did not need to take certain classes. It would be helpful if it were easier to clean up our records.

Pros

Alchemy Products help us stay compliant and make developing and administering training simple. Going paperless means I no longer have to worry about tracking down a training sign in sheet which is simply the best.

Cons

Although the Playbook is new it would be great if courses created in the Playbook were also available through e-Learning.

“2 Years of Alchemy Systems

Pros

Group based learning with real time comprehension checks using remotes is quite valuable for our manufacturing teams. Alchemy has given us much needed visibility into potential training gaps and now we can address them properly. Also using Alchemy has streamlined and standardized our new hire onboarding processes and has promoted greater ownership of safety and food safety training at the departmental level. It was easy to sync with our HRIS which reduces duplicate data entry between systems.

Cons

Admin tasks could be more well organized. There are often redundant processes to ensure users have the right content and access. More integration between different Alchemy apps would help both admins and users. It would also be beneficial if purchased content could be used via Player in addition to e-Learning.

Pros

I can customize the training to be site specific. While its difficult to make safety training exciting, these materials work well and they certainly are not like the outdated videos from the 1970s.

Cons

I would love to see more refresher courses available.

The option to create or adapt content allows for a more practical approach for our employees. We use site specific visuals and audio within the platform to provide real workplace examples and images.

Cons

I at times struggle to find anything I dislike about Alchemy. If there is a process I do not understand Alchemy support is always able to guide me through it easily.

Alchemy is a great product. If I could suggest one improvement it would be adding the option to download lists of users for validation and to bulk archive non ver users. Aside from that I am happy with all other features and tools.

“Alchemy Easy to Use

Pros

Alchemy is simple to move from creating and publishing courses to tracking their completion. The remotes given to each employee make group training enjoyable and interactive and they help us monitor individual results for contracts. The Coach Observation tool adds an extra layer of follow up and reinforcement by allowing us to see employees perform tasks correctly on the job.

Cons

While creating courses is pretty easy and simple it would be helpful to have more options for customizing training in various formats. I did also like to see a report that shows users by worksite so I can audit and ensure employees are correctly grouped within their worksite.

I really like how easy it is to assign and track our monthly required training with Alchemy. I use the refreshable reports to send out to our managers which takes completion rates to 100%.

Cons

I do not have any complaints. I am excited to see how Playbook develops and improves its features for associates.

Pros

Alchemy platform is easy to navigate. It uses remotes for answering questions and provides at least half of the classroom materials we use which are of high quality. The classes offered are simple to download and custom to our needs. It supports various formats and accommodates live classrooms. The management features are useful which allows for grouping, tracking hire and fire dates and more. Moreover their customer service is quick and excellent.

Cons

Well the lack of an iPad app is my biggest issue. With the COVID-19 pandemic we need a mobile device solution. Although e-learning is available, the average production worker does not want to remember another username and password. It would be great if the Kiosk mode were available on an iPad. Currently, its only available for Windows and Windows tablets. My second major concern is that it only supports one facilitator. In California with the ETP program I need the option to have two facilitators for electronic sign-ins (RFID). Since it only supports one I have to use a sign-in sheet and then use the RFID reader to sign into Alchemy, which results in a lot of extra paperwork. plus the formats you can upload are restricted to certain areas. For instance SCORM format is only usable for e-Learning and not for classroom settings. There is also no SCORM converter available. Instead they offer a PowerPoint add-on for creating training but it often freezes when adding audio and video. I find myself needing to save, close and reopen PowerPoint every 10 to 14 slides if using audio. Its takes time but manageable.

“Good for Annual Employee Trainings

Pros

There are many training videos available with multiple-choice questions to test understanding during the videos. Its great for annual employee training and automatically tracks which videos employees have completed.

Cons

The commentator reads every option in the multiple-choice questions which takes a lot of time. It would be better if this were an optional feature for those who prefer it. Also the videos sometimes lag.
