The modular setup, layout and automatic carryover of the corporate design across all new pages are real strengths! It brings training and continuing education to a new level and above all it makes it feel much more current and up to date!

Cons

A few additional question types would still be helpful such as table based answers where multiple correct matches can be assigned within a single row. Adding knowledge modules afterward is also still a bit difficult at the moment.

Pros

Learning objective management is the part I appreciate most. It gives you the ability to organize learning objectives and learning content through knowledge modules and maintain them whenever needed. In general the concept of managing not just media but all content as assets is the strongest approach especially when you are handling very large productions and need to keep everything clearly structured.

Cons

The look of the user interface such as the logo, fonts and navigation colors can only be changed through a central theme that has to be commissioned from chemmedia. Overall that approach does make sense because it ensures a consistent design across all productions but there are times when it would be a bit faster if you could swap something simple like a logo on your own.

Pros

A clear and easy to understand interface plus the separation of layout and content makes working with it very practical. The conditional display options are a real advantage and the full responsiveness is another big plus :)

Cons

Tasks feature feels fairly cluttered and isn't very flexible to use. At times the interface also comes across as a bit outdated. For small internal company projects especially ones usually created by non experts it offers more options than necessary although for professional publishers and similar use cases it's excellent.

Platform makes it possible to build courses in a modern looking design that can be saved as a custom template. That gives all content a consistent, polished, high quality feel. The WYSIWYG editor makes content creation genuinely enjoyable and comes with a solid range of interactive elements. Structuring courses from small modular knowledge blocks also allows content to be updated quickly and precisely. Another major advantage is how simple and fast it is to internationalize content and export either individual languages or full language packages.

Cons

Backend management feels a bit dated especially when creating learning objectives and integrating them into a course and it is less flexible than the actual editor.

Everything feels very easy to use, the layout is clear and you can see results quickly. Reusing individual learning objective groups multiple times is really helpful and there's also a wide range of elements and templates available.

The only thing missing is drag and drop. Being able to just move something into place would be simpler than entering X and Y coordinates.

Something that really stands out is how strongly this tool focuses on reusing content. Its flexible setup and the efficient handling of different versions (whether by language, industry or target audience) make it an extremely versatile solution.

Cons

Even though the interface is generally accessible the large number of features and the level of flexibility can feel overwhelming at first especially for beginners. It takes a bit more time to get familiar with everything before you can use the full potential of the tool efficiently.

Creating courses with this platform feels very simple thanks to the drag and drop editor, ready made templates and interactive elements. It lets us put together informational and high quality courses quickly without much effort.

Cons

There is not really any major downside that comes to mind. AI is already built in and while there is still room for a bit more development there I know the provider is already continuing to improve that in the background.

The UX really needs work and some significant changes are still necessary.

Putting learning content together is very flexible and new audience specific courses can be created quickly by combining existing elements in different ways. The editor is largely flexible to use and the WYSIWYG functions makes content creation much more simple. The tile based navigation also works really well for building non linear learning experiences.

Cons

Adding and tagging images would be better if it worked more simply through drag and drop. It also takes a bit of practice to fully understand the structure behind building materials such as knowledge modules, learning objectives and courses although that setup does provide a lot of flexibility when reusing elements. Creating tests is not integrated directly into the editor either so it requires an additional step.

The move to a responsive design makes it clearer than ever what this system stands for: flexible handling, a true 'what you see is what you get' approach and the ability to build high quality e learning content with very little effort.

Cons

One issue that likely comes from the product's history is that some areas still sit too far away from the actual core workflow. For example I can spend countless hours in the Content Designer creating page after page until everything looks the way I want. But before I can even get there I first have to define the target learner group, learning objectives and knowledge modules under "Learning Objectives." At that point I could technically begin but in practice it makes more sense to combine everything into a course first so that all knowledge modules can be edited in one pass inside the Content Designer. That step in the process doesn't really feel like a modern KW Create experience in 2021.

“Helpful tools”

Pros

Working with this software feels very easy and getting started doesn't take long at all. When creating content you work directly in the same interface that learners later see in the WBT which makes the whole process much more practical. There's also a "magic wand" feature that lets you convert individual elements with just one click. That makes it really simple to test different presentation formats and see which one fits the content best. The preview function is also very useful because you can quickly check how the content looks on different devices. Another helpful feature is the clipboard where individual elements can be stored temporarily and reused somewhere else. The feedback option in test questions is a real plus and helps improve the learner's progress. On top of that their support is excellent!

Cons

Layout can be customized individually by chemmedia but once that is done it stays fixed. As a user you can't add extra colors yourself for things like boxes or highlights. It would also be nice if the software included a wider range of interactive elements.

Pros

The new editor makes the software much simpler to use. The note feature really stands out as a unique strength and the autosave function is very helpful in everyday work. I also appreciate the new navigation options, the added test rating possibilities and the overall attractive design.

Cons

There are still a few things missing that would improve the product further such as the ability to split knowledge modules, hotspot questions and true fill in the blank question types which are already standard in many tools in this category and are especially important for software training. Support for embedded code whether from PowerPoint or websites would add a lot of value as well. A checklist template is also something I would like to see included.

Using the responsive layout feels really good and works exceptionally well.

The interface and the way SCOs are organized could be made simpler and faster to use.

Pros

Working with it feels very flexible and fast. Adding elements through drag and drop is convenient and the overall layout stays clear and well organized. The translation management is also simple and being cloud based works especially well for home office setups.

Cons

One downside is that identical content has to be uploaded to the media assets multiple times because each item needs to be maintained separately so there's no multi-upload option. It's also unfortunate that unnecessary languages can't be hidden in the translation overview. Also with knowledge questions you can't edit images directly from the media asset. For example you can't crop an image and in a matching question you can't cut out individual objects from a picture.

“responsive editor and smart reuse”

The Responsive Content Editor really stands out. It makes course creation feel reliable and covers most of the interaction types you'd want to include. On top of that the asset management and several thoughtfully designed features make it simple to reuse organize and translate content.

Cons

Getting used to the course structure, learning goals and shareable content objects can be a bit frustrating at first. Paired with a pretty confusing backend it definitely takes some time before everything starts to make sense.
