“Flexible activity tracking but tough for kids”

Pros

As an admin, I can track different activity types which gives me a lot of flexibility in managing various tasks and events.

Cons

I think writing and drawing can be tough for kids to manage on this device.

Things worked well right up until they took away the content I had created.

Their user policy is the problem. I am very upset with its policies and I plan to speak out about this wherever I can. I had been a paying Gold member for five years and my subscription was on auto-pay so I never had to think about it. After my card was stolen and replaced, the card number changed and I didn't realize my membership had lapsed. When I logged in to teach, all the lessons I had built over those five years for one of my classes were gone. I contacted them and they said they would give them back only if I renewed my Gold membership. I asked how they could take away lessons I personally created while paying for the service. At most they should block me from creating new ones but the lessons I already made were paid for and should still belong to me. Their response was that the content was on their platform. That is completely unacceptable and feels like an abuse of their position. Over five years with them, I know I sent them thousands of customers through my university and other organizations I work with. I used to love the platform and recommend it constantly. Now I am completely done with them. I cannot believe they are taking back something I paid for over five years and I am going to make sure people hear about it.

“Amazing lessons library”

Pros

Nearpod has been a fantastic resource because it comes with a huge library of lessons and student activities. Another big plus is the Google Slides extension which lets me take existing PowerPoint presentations and bring them into it to make them much more interactive.

Cons

One downside is that the lessons can feel a bit standalone and don't always connect in the way a full curriculum would but it still works really well as a supplemental resource.

Pros

Getting a Nearpod link and being able to complete or participate in the lesson at my own pace is something I really like.

Cons

There really isn't anything about this software that I don't enjoy.

it is quite user friendly and the training and tutorials do a really nice job of supporting digital upskilling.

The back-end control panel still has room for improvement.

Pros

Nearpod is like a dream tool for teachers because it comes with so many features to work with. It makes checking student responses simple and everything is recorded for you. As long as you're willing to get creative, there are almost endless ways to use it.

Cons

With so many features built in, getting comfortable with the software and figuring out how to navigate everything can take some time.

“Engaging assessment and presentation”

Pros

It gives me an effective way to assess students while presenting information at the same time.

Cons

At times there's a bit of lag when trying to view students screens.
