“real time traceability boost”
Pros
Having complete real time traceability made the biggest difference and being able to handle everything from live bird reception through final dispatch in one system was a huge plus. It noticeably improved production monitoring and helped cut down waste.
Cons
Rolling out one unified system meant the teams had to move away from their usual paper processes and Excel routines. That kind of cultural shift is always the toughest part.

“Live production control helps us”
Pros
Dynamic control over production orders and raw material usage has been extremely valuable for us. We're able to follow everything in real time and keep animal welfare monitored all the way from arrival through slaughter. The connection with purchasing and ERP systems also makes invoicing and planning much more efficient.
Cons
Moving away from manual control and into a fully integrated digital system did mean we had to unlearn some of the ways we were used to working.

“Great experience”
Pros
One of the biggest improvements with BRAINR has been the level of visibility we now have across the factory. Before using it, a lot of decisions depended on Excel sheets and manual reporting. Now everything is available in real time, from production yields and waste levels to operator performance. Because the system is built with the food industry in mind, it really stands out. It handles catchweight, traceability, batches and the complexity that comes with meat production so it never feels like a generic tool that was simply adjusted to fit us. It honestly feels designed for the way we actually work. The mobile app on the shop floor has also been very useful and operators got comfortable with it faster than I expected. On top of that the integration with our ERP went more smoothly than we had anticipated.
Cons
At the start installation does require a lot of involvement from the internal team. This is definitely not a plug-and-play type of solution. You need to revisit processes, clean up master data and make sure teams are aligned. Some supervisors also struggled at first with moving from paper-based work to a digital system so there was a bit of resistance in the beginning. That said, this feels more like a change management challenge than a software problem. Another thing is that the platform is highly configurable which is a benefit but it also means you need clear internal decisions to keep things from becoming more complicated than necessary.
