“powerful production tracking platform”
Pros
Coming from a company that builds advanced strategic and operational communication solutions, we rely on this to build out our production processes and we're now extending it to track our full circuit board manufacturing flow. The platform is highly flexible when it comes to CAD data sources and the import process is very simple. It does a nice job of identifying matching packages and uses X/Y placement files to map references to the correct packages. We also bring in BOMs directly from their native Excel format and 3D CAD files can be imported for mechanical assemblies as well. The latest release has noticeably expanded the 3D CAD feature and it looks incredibly impressive. Once the process is configured and the process detail page templates are in place, importing new assembly files and generating process details becomes fast and efficient. On the shop floor, operators can access everything digitally as they scan boards through each stage, follow guided steps when required and record assembly data such as measurements and defect information. They're also able to send feedback directly to manufacturing engineering. FactoryLogix helps enforce process control by preventing assemblies from starting when there are open defects, when a previous step has not been completed successfully or even when the required wait time between steps has not passed. It also runs multiple validation checks when a unit is moved through a process. On top of that FactoryLogix includes sample inspection methods.
Cons
I really don't have any negatives to mention about the software. We're pleased with what it can do today and are looking forward to expanding how we use the system going forward.

“Factory wide visibility”
Pros
From an engineering manager's perspective one of the biggest advantages of using it is the instant visibility it gives into our operation's performance. That immediate access to information helps us identify opportunities for improvement in both measurable results and overall process quality. Another major benefit is compliance assurance especially in our finished goods packing area, where we depend on the MES validations to make sure we are shipping accurate, high-quality products to customers. Support has also been outstanding. Whenever we've needed help, we've been able to reach their team directly without dealing with phone trees or long hold times and they respond with real urgency while listening carefully and providing solutions quickly. On top of that it covers our entire facility, from automated electronics assembly to manual system builds. It supports assemblers, inspectors and technicians through the MES interface and also connects with our assembly, inspection and test equipment. Most of this has been handled through the standard features with very little customization required and over the more than eight years we've used Aegis software, its flexibility has allowed us to adjust processes, rules and system behavior as our manufacturing needs and customer expectations continue to evolve.
Cons
We have not experienced any negative issues with this software to report.

“Solid quality control”
Pros
FactoryLogix brings very strong quality management capabilities. As an OEM manufacturer handling high-volume work orders, the in-line first article function helps us catch and stop incorrect builds before they continue which has saved us a significant amount of money. On the data collection side, before this software, defects were usually logged only at the component level so getting meaningful information for root cause investigations was difficult. With this, we can require defects to be assigned at the right level, whether that is the assembly, the component or even a specific pin on a circuit board. That kind of detail gives us the rich data we need to perform root cause analysis accurately and much faster. The system also automatically prompts operators to complete quality checks at set points during production which helps ensure critical quality requirements are being met the whole way through. Being able to identify non-conformances while production is still in progress has dramatically reduced our rework and the costs that come with it. On top of that we now have instant visibility into all the quality data gathered across the process which we simply did not have before. Having that real-time information means we can immediately trigger alarms whenever something is not operating the way it should.
Cons
The downside is that the software's response time can be frustrating at times.

“Pretty good overall”
Pros
Across our manufacturing operation, Aegis software has had a strong impact. Our customers expect flawless results and to support that, we needed to digitize several critical areas. It was important for us to have those capabilities within a truly unified, IIoT, data-driven platform so we could protect our long-term investment while still delivering solid ROI. The paperless work instructions have helped us speed up documentation creation, handle rapid changes without trouble and stay agile when customer requirements shift. On the production side, Aegis works exceptionally well with our Europlacer machines, connecting and interlocking the entire line for active quality control along with complete traceability. Both our team and our customers have gained significant value from using this software.
Cons
Nothing notable to mention here. The preparation and coordination with the AEGIS engineers were done well so we didn't run into any real issues during installation.

“quality insight”
Pros
This has done an excellent job meeting our manufacturing requirements for product realization. We rely on it for both product and component level traceability, for maintaining controls around product measurement tracking and for making sure every manufacturing operation is completed successfully. On top of that the WIP tracking is extremely important for us because of our high product mix. Having real-time visibility into product status and location in WIP is critical for day-to-day production planning and the automated daily floor-status reports are a big help as well. The quality metrics and reporting tools are also very valuable, giving us a strong way to monitor process effectiveness and push continuous updates. Reports can be run on demand, scheduled in advance or configured as alarms to notify Engineering whenever preset parameters drift from expected values. Another major benefit is document control. FactoryLogix supports our critical manufacturing processes with paperless controls, managing build instructions by assembly or process revision so operators always receive the correct documentation on the production floor. We also use a wide range of automated build and test equipment and FactoryLogix integrates with those machines to automatically capture pass/fail results and defect data.
Cons
At this point we have no issues to report. The overall experience has been very positive for the organization.

“My good review”
Pros
Paperwork used to be a huge burden on our production floor. Creating it, handing it out and keeping it updated took a lot of time and effort from the team. Since moving to this, we've eliminated all of that paper-based documentation. We went from cabinets packed with records to having everything stored electronically. Instead of pages and pages attached to every work order, all of the information now lives in the system. If something needs to be updated, we make the change once and the production floor sees it right away. The whole documentation workflow is now real-time and much more manageable. Another big benefit is full product traceability from start to finish. Using the Sub-Assembly collection features, we can also tell customers when components inside a unit have been replaced. This platform has saved us a significant amount of both time and money when creating production orders. Reporting is not the area we rely on most but whenever we do need it, there's usually an existing report available or we can build a new one. Because the system captures so much detail, it gives us a strong data repository for deeper analysis and reporting whenever needed.
Cons
Honestly we haven't had any real complaints about FactoryLogix. Any time we weren't completely sure how to use the system for a specific requirement, the Aegis team was there to guide us and help us work through the challenge.

“Full traceability”
Pros
Switching to this solved some of our biggest shop floor problems right away. Before this system, we relied heavily on paper documentation and that created constant issues with lost paperwork, outdated revisions being used, quality problems and delays to our production schedule. That whole process is no longer a headache. WIP tracking has also improved dramatically. Previously, if someone wanted to know the status of work in process, account managers had to physically walk the floor and track products down themselves. Now the WIP tables and dashboards give us that visibility immediately. Traceability is another area where this platform has been extremely valuable for us. In our environment, detailed and accurate traceability is critical and it has that built in across the system. We can instantly see who performed rework, when it happened, why it was done and the full assembly history whenever someone needs that information. The quality data collection and reporting tools have also saved a lot of time since employees no longer have to manually enter data into spreadsheets just to monitor and report on quality metrics. On top of all that, the software gives us a lot of features without being difficult to use which mattered a lot during selection and rollout because user adoption was essential for us to actually realize the value and benefits of the system.
Cons
We have not run into any negative issues with this software worth mentioning.

“Easy rollout”
Pros
As we expanded into a new factory in Mexico, getting an MES up and running fast became a major priority. A big part of meeting that timeline was choosing a solution that was affordable, quick to deploy and still capable of supporting both our immediate goals and future growth. We needed something that could start with a limited set of functions yet remain broad enough to scale later without requiring heavy customization, added time or extra cost. This gave us exactly that kind of flexibility, letting us begin with a smaller scope and build out more capabilities when the time was right. Another key requirement was Spanish-speaking support. Since this platform plays such an important role in our manufacturing operations, having access to the right help when needed was critical. We chose Aegis Software and FactoryLogix because they matched our needs at a reasonable price and we've been very happy with that choice.
Cons
The training period was a bit slow at the beginning but once the manufacturing engineering team became more experienced with the system, things started running much more smoothly.

“Best platform for global production”
Pros
Running factories around the world meant we needed one digital system that could take customer CAD files and bill of materials data and convert them into all the different machine program formats required at each site. In enterprise manufacturing, where we support thousands of customers and a broad range of production equipment, fast and accurate machine program creation is essential to staying responsive. Aegis Software's FactoryLogix platform delivers on those needs and goes beyond them. It takes all kinds of incoming customer data and turns it into ready-to-run equipment programs which helps us move into production quickly.
