An all in one platform

Pros

This platform covers the key capabilities needed to manage a facility's asset integrity and reliability programs in one place. Having everything in a single suite reduces the learning curve and helps users around the world get up to speed and adopt it much faster.

Cons

At the moment it simplifies initial adoption with a single suite but cross module integration gaps create duplicate tasks for ongoing asset management.

strong SageMaker integration

Pros

One of the best parts is how well it connects with Amazon SageMaker. Having access to machine learning models really helps with refining predictive analytics. The initial setup was also handled nicely. It was largely scripted and by following the provided guidelines, getting started with the product was really easy.

Cons

The innovation side feels a bit slow and could move faster within GE Vernova APM. With so many Gen AI advancements happening right now, the platform could take better advantage of them especially for predictive maintenance, chat support and AI agents.

My experience

Pros

It does a good job of delivering organized solutions that feel customized to what customers actually need. The team seems to pay close attention to our business requirements and comes back with solutions that match them well which makes the whole experience feel personalized. I also appreciated that the initial setup was very simple and effortless.

Cons

Despite the high level of customization available the user interface could be better and getting things done often takes too many clicks. Some of the workflows also feel very frustrating which can slow things down.

Powerful APM with excellent support

Pros

This stands out with an excellent user interface that makes the overall experience much better. Its integrated maintenance solutions are very valuable especially since they cover both rotating and static equipment. Handling detailed API 580/581 calculations in RBI is also much more manageable which helps a lot when assessing assets such as piping, pressure vessels and tanks. On top of that the way it brings together Mechanical Integrity, Reliability and Production Loss Analysis into one platform really cuts down the effort involved in my daily work. The initial setup was simple and it is reassuring to know their technical team is consistently available whenever support is needed.

Cons

A few areas could still be improved. The strategies feel somewhat fixed and do not provide real time recommendations based on current conditions, where AI could add a lot more value. It would also be beneficial to include dynamic calculations for corrosion risk to make the solution stronger and more comprehensive.

Efficient data integration

Pros

While using this you can bring together data from different sources and its so helpful to be able to do that. Creating customizable dashboards isn't very hard. Moving between alerts, cases and their related variables also feels logical and well organized.

Cons

The interface can be a bit slow and lags in certain situations.

decent

Pros

GE TM and IM loadsheets are really convenient to work with. Downloading the data is simple and being able to update it and upload it again makes the whole process much more efficient. Another helpful part is the error detail provided for failed uploads since it makes troubleshooting and fixing issues a lot easier.

Cons

Bringing IM, TM and API 580 together is somewhat complicated and not as easy as it should be.

reliabile tools with solid workflows

Pros

It has been useful for our reliability and maintenance work. We rely on it for rounds, thickness monitoring and inspection management and it does a good job supporting those processes. One thing I really value is being able to convert findings into recommendations and then generate SAP work orders from them. It also gives us confidence that all the necessary checks are being completed.

Cons

A few areas that need more work. Creating routes in Rounds Pro can be frustrating and the thickness monitoring tools do not sync properly with APM or Integrity Mobile. Advanced visualization is also hard to work with and tends to lag and we have run into problems with APM Connect as well. On top of that the installation procedures could definitely be improved.

challenging setup

Pros

One thing that works well is the SmartSignal interface and the analytics run fast enough to support quick decision-making when time matters.

Cons

The analytic development side still needs work and getting everything set up at the beginning was difficult.

User friendly asset visibility

Pros

The platform feels very user friendly and I really appreciate the solid options it offers for bringing in data from different systems. That makes it possible to get a more complete, holistic view of the assets being monitored and diagnosed. Pulling data from TCS or DCS was also fairly simple.

Cons

One part I'm not a fan of is the manual entry required on certain forms when integrating master data. I'd much rather see AI capabilities added that can automatically pull and extract data from external systems and reports.

Everything in one place

Pros

Having all the alerts gathered in one place has been a big plus. Pulling all of our data into a single solution gives us a much clearer overall view of our equipment health. Before this, I had to manually check multiple software tools every day just to see whether anything had gone into an alarm state. Now SmartSignal is the first thing I open.

Cons

Parts of the UI still feel a bit frustrating.
