“Flexible workflows

Pros

Setting it up was very easy for my team especially for individual worktables. It's also simple to build workflows that cover multiple operations.

Cons

It still lacks is an order planning module which would make it possible to handle detailed scheduling directly inside PicoMES after importing orders.

“Quick instructions and fun tracking

Pros

Switching to Pico for work instructions felt very quick because the system is easy and simple to use. Since we were already using Google Slides for our instructions, moving over to this format was pretty smooth. The tool integration was especially useful and genuinely impressive. It honestly made the build process feel almost gamified which made it a lot more enjoyable to work with. The data tracking features also stood out and added a lot of value.

Cons

One thing that bothered me was how restrictive some parts of Pico can feel. Getting payment set up was frustrating because I had to wait for a custom link by email just to access a cart with very limited flexibility. It also feels a bit more constrained than Google Slides so there was definitely an adjustment period. That said it was not a deal breaker in the end.

“team is amazing

Pros

From the very beginning their team has been outstanding. It offers excellent integration capabilities across a wide range of systems and if something hasn't been built yet, you can usually just ask. The team has also done an exceptional job supporting new developments at our facility.

Cons

Data analysis is really the only area we haven't explored much yet. With our current setup, there isn't a lot of analytical feature in place but that's not really a negative on Pico's side since we haven't asked to take things further in that direction. There's likely more to come there.

“clear work instructions

Pros

Getting electronic work instructions up and running was very easy for my classroom. They also offered training sessions and webinars that helped me show my students what a good work instruction should look like.

Cons

The harder part was coordinating with our IT department to get the system approved and set up for classroom use. Since we're a university, there are restrictions and data storage reviews that we have to work through first.
