“Stay Away from Plex

Pros

I am a fan of the "all-you-can-eat" pricing model.

Cons

I must admit, Plex has had a devastating impact on our company, and I'm not exaggerating. Some of it can be attributed to a poor implementation by a consulting company, and our lack of internal expertise to ask for the right things. Even when we attempted a fresh implementation with a different consulting company, it became clear that Plex was not suitable for us. The MRP, routers and BOMs are completely disconnected which makes planning an extremely tedious task. You would think that a basic report like a costed BOM would be standard, but it doesn't exist. Sadly, the Plex management has shown no interest in addressing these issues (our Director of Ops identified over 38 major problems). As a result, we are actively seeking to switch systems, even if it costs us hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Pros

Plex Smart is truly unique as it was specifically designed for metal stamping companies. It offers many features that are custom-made to our industry, and I highly recommend it.

Cons

The licensing structure is ridiculously expensive. We couldn't justify such a considerable expense.

Pros

The Plex cloud-based ERP software is impressively fast and responsive. The accounting module in particular offers a wide range of functionalities.

Cons

This software is not at all easy to use and requires a lot of user training. We encountered numerous technical issues (labels not functioning, drop ship module not allowing decimals, accounting jobs not available for all entries, etc.). Overall, the software lacks flexibility and could potentially create problems for your company.

The ability to track everything related to employees and manufacturing is fantastic. Having everything consolidated in one ERP system is a great advantage.

Cons

I have come across some drawbacks with Plex, particularly in terms of finding detailed videos or blogs for learning and perform specific tasks. I consider myself fairly skilled at using software, but Plex is not as user-friendly as I would prefer.

When it comes to ERP, this software has everything you need to track project progress, estimate timelines and identify additional requirements.

Cons

The visual aesthetics of the layout could have been improved, although I understand the design choices made. Nevertheless, it is highly effective!

Pros

The user interface is simple and intuitive, and I can easily access it from any device. I can even generate reports and schedules from home.

Cons

I would like to have a more developed and efficient distribution framework. While it exists, it could be improved to better handle the logistics involved. The support staff tends to take quite some time to respond, but we have managed to configure the system using their development tools.

Pros

The ease of use is exceptional, especially for users familiar with line-of-business software. Being web-based helps reduce overall IT costs, especially for businesses with multiple sites and a large number of users. The cloud-based nature of the software also simplifies backup and risk planning. The best part is the unlimited user access, which sets Plex apart from other options. The Plex community is fantastic, providing ample training and knowledge sharing. It's a valuable addition to other software solutions.

Cons

The UX still has some bugs, but you can easily switch to the classic interface and accomplish what you need to do. So far, the UX has been great. It would be beneficial if the education portal was included free for the first 6 months as part of the trial. There are numerous training sessions and resources available to find answers to your questions in that area. If Plex offered a good preview, this would likely be a quick addition.

This software is incredibly user-friendly, and being cloud-based allows me to access and work from anywhere. The dashboard is a powerful tool and greatly improves my productivity.

Cons

The setup process was a bit tricky, and the interface feels a bit outdated. Additionally, when it goes down, it takes quite a while to get back up and running.

Plex Smart is easy to use, and its price is more affordable compared to larger ERP systems. The Plex team is attentive to user feedback and is willing to make changes accordingly. The Plex user community is an amazing resource, and experts are often available to help users.

Cons

The functionality is clunky, and there are some limitations for the consumer products sector (although efforts are being made to address them, albeit slowly). The current business intelligence tools associated with the software are also difficult to use.

Pros

Plex Online is very user-friendly and consistently updated. Being cloud-based eliminates the need for installation upgrades. The software is highly customizable to meet our company's specific needs. The staff is knowledgeable and always helpful.

Cons

So far, I haven't come across any issues.
