PHP Point is really easy to use, the customer service is excellent and the installation process was quite simple too. Overall I like it.

The restaurant table management features are not integrated yet which I do not like.

The best part is that I can turn off features I do not need and then turn them back on later when I do.

It has lots of features, some of which I did not need but it's great that I can turn off the ones I do not need, so it's not an issue.

“Complete toolset that fits my dev needs

Pros

Even though PHP Point of Sale is not in my area of expertise, my experience with it has been really positive. What I liked the most was how it manages inventory and generates detailed reports that help with operational efficiency. The flexibility of the system allowed us to customize it to suit our specific needs including adjusting it to our company's price structure and discount system.

Cons

Overall I was happy with it but I did find some areas that needs improvement, particularly when it comes to integration with other systems and tools. Also it was a bit complicated and required some extra technical know how.

“Amazing!

Pros

You can either host it yourself with your own web hosting provider or locally and pay a one time fee if you do not need updates. They also offer a cloud hosted version at a slightly higher price but it saves us on web hosting fees. We only need one license per location, even if we have 50 computers running POS. Total control is available if you are an advanced user. You can write your own programs or scripts and use their API for faster updates. If any bugs pop up, they are fixed within hours or days not weeks or months. Plus the collection of credit card processors is great as it allows us to choose the cheapest option. The customer support is quite responsive and there is no hold music or waiting around. System downtime is almost nonexistent unless there is an issue with your internet. Also they provide a demo site to test things out before purchasing the license which is a great added benefit. Gift cards are not locked to the POS, so we can use cards from any provider which makes it easier and cheaper to transfer. Plus, it is hardware flexible as it works on iPads, Android tablets or PCs, which gives your business more redundancy. And while development takes time, the software allows for workarounds instead of dead ends.

Cons

I feel like the offline mode could definitely use some work. As for now users cannot look up items without barcodes and credit cards can't be saved for processing once back online. The customer facing display could be better integrated instead of relying on a separate tablet. Also cash drawers cannot be opened without wasting some receipt paper and cash transactions require a manual click to open. The closing register report could also use some improvement with more clear and concise details.

“Cannot beat it for online sales

Pros

The inventory control and transfer features are really impressive to me and their implementation makes PHP Point of Sale perfect for use in both pharmacy retail and wholesale businesses.

Cons

One thing I feel that is missing is a lack of inbuilt deep customization options for invoices and receipts.
