“Felt like a big upgrade
Pros
I started using Pioneer at my new job after using Enterprise and the layouts are completely different. It took me a couple of months to get used to the simplicity of it. At first it felt overwhelming to me with all the different screens, but I love that it is not an outdated system.
Cons
One issue with it is that I often have to manually add medications when I am trying to fill a prescription.

“Easy to customize
Pros
PioneerRx has an amazing reports that can be customized to suit whatever we need. Plus it really helps us find pretty much anything we are looking for.
Cons
We tried doing a virtual inventory with it but it did not work as we expected. So we ended up going back to doing a physical inventory.

It is really easy to use and the integrations are great. I also like the tech support. They are polite and good.
Cons
The cost is on the higher side but it is definitely worth the value I get.

“Support really let me down
Pros
I have nothing good to share. And I am not sure if the sales staff loves to talk during their time but it can be frustrating when they call you during your busiest moments. Like they are not flexible with your schedule.
Cons
Well I personally do not like the customer service. It is very poor. They do not reply to emails and won't work with you to explain the system before you make a purchase.

Pros
The RX filling process is very fast and seamless. Also it is really easy to find what I need and get it done.
Cons
There is a lot going on the screen at once which at times overwhelms me.

“Works well without compromising security
Pros
PioneerRx workflow is highly customizable. You get good control over admin, pharmacist and tech access. The custom Rx Audit report makes desk audits so much easier. There is even a DIR estimator which allows me to generate profit reports that factor in estimated DIR or GER fees. The cash pricing estimator compares prices based on competitors nearby. POS and sales data can be accessed from any workstation and the POS is integrated into the Rx module. I can even control perpetual inventory within the software which is great. Also the training portal gives admins a clear view of each staff member's progress. Customer ID info is available at both the POS and pharmacist verification screens. And I can create patient profiles by simply scanning a driver's license. PMP data is submitted automatically. Plus it is more secure since the program can run without needing Windows admin privileges preventing unauthorized software installs.
Cons
The onboarding and maintenance costs are high compared to other options on the market though it is still worth the price. Also I feel like patient profile history could really use a search feature instead of just filtering.

Pros
Not only is it easy to use but is also very efficient. The customer service team is really helpful during office hours and it has really improved our training program.
Cons
They really need to extend their customer service hours. We have not had any other issues to complain about so far though.

Pros
Pioneer offers a lot of features for all whether you are a simple pharmacy or one that does immunizations, deliveries, MTM and more. The ease of use and speed are something I also like a lot.
Cons
There is not much I don't like. Overall it is a great program that meets all my needs. I just wish we could customize a few more features.

Pros
Customer support is excellent. If you send in a screenshot of the issue, they call back immediately. I would say they are definitely the best in the business.
Cons
The difficulty with MAR and sigs was a bit tricky at first but once I got the hang of it, it has been much easier.

Pros
I love how easy it is to learn and use. Plus the ability to have a PioneerRx member contact us in case of any software issues is quite helpful, especially during busy pharmacy rush hours.
Cons
We have had some recent issues with the program freezing up. When we tried to merge several stores onto one server it caused problems across the stores. The main issue was the lag which made all the computers in the pharmacy freeze. Because of this lag we switched to another software.
