“top-tier meal plans”

Pros

As our business grew, we looked into different POS providers that could offer a complete solution suited to our specific way of operating. Sapaad turned out to be the best match for our meal plans and daily workflow. We're able to set up custom meal plans without hassle and schedule them weekly or monthly. On the scheduled day meals are automatically printed in the kitchen so they can be prepared fresh. It also gives us quick access to live sales and revenue reports which makes it simple to spot business trends at a glance.

Cons

While the system is easy to understand I think that on-site training and support would still be beneficial.

“fantastic cloud POS”

Pros

I went through countless options before landing on Sapaad and trying the free demo. It checked nearly every box I had been looking for. We rely on it for table management, the cash register, customer tickets, sales and inventory reporting. Because it's cloud-based it's much simpler for the staff to use. Our old setup had to be installed on every single POS and device which was a real hassle. Now it's very convenient to see exactly what's happening at the restaurant even when we're not on-site. With other systems remote access usually means you can only look at stats or limited information, not actually manage things like with Sapaad. The customer support has also been outstanding. They always reply with helpful, relevant answers in under 12 hours and they've even implemented a few changes we requested. If I had to pick a favorite feature it would probably be how simple it is to review sales history and identify which products are performing best or worst. Before I had to export everything, move it into Excel and run it through a process I built myself. This is so much better and I can even check it from my phone while riding the train.

Cons

Since we operate as a full-service restaurant we do have a few needs that differ from other types of businesses. One thing we'd really want is the ability to transfer individual items between tables. Right now the workaround is to void the item on one table and then add it again to the other. It would also be helpful to label tables instead of only using fixed numbers. We have plenty of regulars and being able to customize a table with a guest's name would make service much more convenient. That said these are fairly minor issues. Overall we're happy with the system and have adjusted to it well which says a lot.

“inventory tools are too basic”

Pros

Sapaad keeps things fairly simple and covers most of the core inventory functions we need. I really like the "Production" feature because it supports a central kitchen setup. A lot of other systems don't offer that.

Cons

Though my overall review is positive I also think that there are a few inventory areas that need improvement. There's no report showing purchases by item, nor one giving a consolidated inventory view across all locations for a specific date. On the POS side this has been one of the weaker systems I've worked with. It doesn't support promotions whether by day/time, check balance or specific customers or groups. It doesn't even let us add modifiers to combos. The combo options and forced questions also aren't as capable or flexible as in other systems and we can't even set a forced question for something as basic as dine-in versus take-away.

“Good starting point for stock management”

Pros

It covers most inventory tasks in a simple way and the central kitchen support through the "Production" feature is something a lot of other systems still don't offer.

Cons

Overall I like the product but a few inventory areas still need improvement. For one, there's no report showing purchases by item. Two, there's no report that gives a consolidated inventory view across all locations for a specific date. As a POS it also feels weak in some important areas. For example it doesn't support offers such as discounts for certain days or hours, discounts based on check balance or discounts for specific customers or customer groups. It also doesn't allow modifiers for combos, the combo options and forced questions aren't as advanced as in other systems and there's no way to set the forced question as "Dine in" or "take away".
