Decent option

Pros

So far, the positive thing I have noticed is that it is really flexible when it comes to configuring settings and the overall UI.

Cons

A lot of scrolling is required just to see everything and it doesn't allow me to mass approve.

I am a happy and content user

Pros

GEP SMART covers all the basics we need as a multinational enterprise. We've been using it for years in contract and sourcing and now we are rolling it out for procurement. Plus it has been really supportive in shaping future product developments which is great to see.

Cons

Like with any configurable software, setting it up takes time. As it takes a lot of our time configuring, testing and deploying before everything runs smoothly.

An excellent product with top-notch support

Pros

The GEP customer success team actually listens to our feedback and makes improvements based on what users need. Also it keeps getting better, all modules work together well, spend tracking is accurate and generating reports is quite easy too.

Cons

Navigating within the dashboards and loading screens in the Sourcing and Contracts modules is not as easy as we thought. Also not all the info sections open properly and when I scroll, the widgets jump around, which is annoying.

5 out of 5

Pros

Ecolab is going all digital and SMART by GEP fits right into that vision. Plus the flexibility of a SaaS solution is quite advantageous. One size doesn't fit all but the fact that GEP is willing to adapt to our needs makes it a strong choice.

Cons

Some basic features in the P2P modules weren't working for us when we started and are still not fixed. We have had to rely on workarounds which isn't ideal.

easy to learn and use

Pros

It's really easy to use and learn. Everything runs on a single, unified platform. Our implementation went well and we were able to launch on time and within budget. Whenever we come across issues, GEP has been open to considering new ideas for future updates.

Cons

One drawback is that the Spend module isn't connected to the other modules.

Well-deisgned software

Pros

GEP SMART software is user-friendly, their team is actively engaged and the tool runs fast. We are really happy with it.

Cons

There's a disconnection between data insights and market intel by category. It would be much better if they were more connected.

A powerful yet budget-friendly software

Pros

It is a full-service procurement solutions firm that offers managed services, transformation services and its own source to pay technology. SMART by GEP, launched in 2014 is their cloud-based source to pay platform, and it's been a great investment. Also it fully integrates with back-end systems and runs on Microsoft Azure, which makes everything run smoothly. Since the entire platform is Microsoft-native, it connects well with tools like SharePoint, Office and Outlook, making workflows even more seamless.

Cons

SMART by GEP's P2P functionality is not as strong as what you'd get from dedicated P2P providers. That said, since it's part of a fully integrated suite, it does come with some great capabilities.
