“Completely abandoned by developers
Pros
It is easy to use for many tasks and is specifically designed for Swiss regulations, handling QR-bills, basic HR and VAT. Also the pricing is fair for what we get.
Cons
Well it feels like this platform is completely abandoned. There have not been any meaningful updates in years. Simple tasks require way too many clicks and it is nearly impossible to track down errors or filter manual entries among thousands of transactions. The performance can be slow too at times and the customer support is among the worst I have experienced.

“Major system error deleted data
Pros
The payroll system integrates well with regional reporting requirements and works reliably for Swiss franc payments. The connection with compensation offices is also hassle-free, though you can get this specific function for free with AbaSalary.
Cons
A major system error with the subscription management caused my account and all of its data to be completely deleted, even though the screen showed my subscription was still active. When I contacted support, they asked me to pay 400 CHF to get my data back, even though the problem was their fault. The software also does not handle foreign currencies like British Pounds or US Dollars very well, which causes me to have to do extra work by hand and sometimes leads to mistakes. The connection to my bank is often unstable and does not work reliably. Finally the live chat is not staffed by real support agents but by other users, so they cannot really help solve problems.

“exploitative cancellation process
Pros
All the essential applications are included and the payroll feature is user friendly and works well. Beyond that I do not have much more to add.
Cons
My contract was automatically renewed without any warning and the cancellation process is deliberately complicated. It feels like it is designed to take advantage of its customers.

“Too expensive with terrible support
Pros
The interface gets the job done and has all the features we need. That said, some areas feel a bit dated and could be simpler. I also think the overall experience would really improve with some clearer guides or prompts along the way
Cons
Two major issues are pricing model and customer service are major issues. I mean it is simply too expensive, making it unaffordable for very small businesses with only 10 to 20 transactions per year. The support is terrible too. Even though while sending payment reminders works fine but you only get a response half the time. Plus charging extra for receipt processing on top of an already high base price says everything. Overall it is a shame because the core idea behind the software is solid.

“Not the best experience
Pros
Creating invoices and tracking payments is way too simple with this software. As I can quickly generate professional-looking invoices and the automated payment reminders save me lots of time chasing down overdue accounts.
Cons
The inventory management features are pretty weak. Adding and tracking stock feels clunky and it doesnt integrate well with other parts of the software. This means I have to use a separate system for inventory which creates extra work.

“barely functional website
Pros
I'd prefer not to comment. The negative aspects of Bexio outweigh any potential positives for me. Honestly there is not anything about it that I particularly like.
Cons
The website's user experience looks about a decade out of date. The iOS app is barely functional to me. Just usable enough to get by, but not a pleasant experience.

“Prices are too high
Pros
I find this tool really complicates my accounting work instead of making it easier. It ends up consuming way more of my time than it should. The interface is not user-friendly at all as navigating through features feels clunky and accessing what I need is a real headache.
Cons
Billing features are not user-friendly at all. I need faster payment processing for my collections. Also there is no easy way to track expenses or create reports quickly as everything takes too many steps. And when I contact support they are slow to respond and dont always help solve my problems effectively.

“Gets the job done but needs improvements
Pros
One thing I like is how affordable this software is while still offering comprehensive accounting capabilities. Plus having all my sales, purchasing and banking data in one place makes everything so much more streamlined. And the daily budget forecasting feature has become essential to my workflow. What impressed me most was how user friendly the interface is. Plus implementation was surprisingly smooth and integration did not require much technical expertise. Whenever I have needed help, customer support has been responsive and helpful.
Cons
The server does not scale well and becomes unresponsive at times which annoys me.

“Missing a lot of useful features
Pros
Managing payroll through this platform has been challenging since the features are not quite there yet. Also the integration options feel pretty limited which makes connecting with other software more difficult than it should be. I would really like to see them expand their services to better support growing businesses.
Cons
Bexio interface could definitely use some work and it would be great if they added support for different languages since we have users from various regions. Honestly there is not much that stands out positively right now. And I would really appreciate a more interactive design as the current one feels pretty static. Sometimes the server response times are very slow which becomes frustrating when you are trying to get work done. Overall both the flexibility and UI design need some serious attention.

“Missing many basic expected features
Pros
The core concept behind Bexio is great such as it's essentially a lightweight, affordable mini-ERP system. Creating invoices is simple too whether for products or time-based services. Plus the QR-code scanning automatically imports payment data from the bank which saves me a lot of time. Handling the annual financial statements or VAT declarations is also very easy.
Cons
Many basic features you'd expect are missing. Also you have to handle archiving yourself but there is no option to download everything at once. And the program was extremely slow for months, with long waits after every click. The functionality is inconsistent too. For example, you can handle down payments from customers but not prepayments to suppliers. Even small details are frustrating like not being able to use the Enter key to confirm a bank code as you have to click with the mouse. Reported issues like these never get fixed.

“Easy to operate from anywhere
Pros
I really like how easy it is to operate and most of all, it's accessible online from anywhere. The support team is also excellent.
Cons
I noticed that it does not offer all the functions our specific industry requires to operate effectively.

“Stagnant platform with worse support
Pros
Everything that was once good about Bexio is gone now. The support keeps getting worse and there are no new features. In short the platform is getting slower so I am switching to a different software next month.
Cons
The software is slow and has stagnated since being acquired. The focus seems to be on making money rather than improving the product. So it is better to let this platform fade away so more capable alternatives can thrive.

“Extremely aggressive business practices
Pros
I feel completely misled by the team. I mean the general terms and conditions are completely unreasonable!
Cons
Their business practices are extremely aggressive when selling but once you have subscribed, it becomes impossible to get any support. You are completely on your own. There is no communication between their sales and accounting departments. They resort to threats like we have lawyers very quickly. So I strongly advise against them. Be very careful with the automatic contract renewal.

“No support whatsoever
Pros
There is no support to speak of. I mean it is nonexistent. So if you are looking for problems with an accounting program, just buy Bexio and you'll get exactly that.
Cons
Everything about it is bad, from the sales process to the customer support that does not exist. In short it's a company I would say you should stay far away from.

“worst customer support!
Pros
It is an all in one accounting tool with a lot of features but those features often have weaknesses and do not always work perfectly.
Cons
The customer support has gotten much worse over the years. They have cut their support hours and you have to wait a very long time on hold. Such as I have been waiting for over 30 minutes right now. They also started a chat system where other users are supposed to help you which is worrying because it might not keep your data private. This feels like it is making customers solve their own software problems for them. Plus the payroll section still has big problems after all this time. For example it will say it successfully sent your annual report to social security, even when it did not send anything which can cause you to get a fine. Plus important accounting tools like budgeting and cost centers are also missing. Many accountants who use it for their clients are always pointing out these major weaknesses that they have to fix by hand.

“User-friendly but hits limits quickly
Pros
The interface is user-friendly and generally well-designed, working fine for very small businesses. However you quickly hit the softwares limits. Also it is not suitable for e-commerce and if your company grows, let me tell you Bexio does not grow with you.
Cons
I must say the customer support is very poor. I mean I know the software better than their agents do. When major problems occur, they do not have answers. They recommended a partner for our Bexio-Shopify integration but when we had issues with that partner, they refused to help. The result is that our website cannot communicate with our accounting software, wasting thousands of euros in development. So thanks for nothing!

“Does not comply with standards
Pros
Nothing good to say as I constantly run into issues with projects, purchase orders, the supplier section, the general accounting and the payroll.
Cons
It does not comply with Swiss accounting standards. You cannot create supplier credit notes and you cannot print the journal to PDF but only to Excel which then requires tedious manual formatting. To top it off, the support team is unhelpful, consistently responding with generic answers like 'that's not possible' instead of providing real solutions.

“Too many bugs that never get fixed
Pros
The automatic bank account synchronization is great and I can create and send e-banking payments directly through Bexio.
Cons
Well it is only a decent cloud accounting software in principle but there are far too many bugs that never get fixed, even when reported. Issues with the automatic bank sync and the lack of automated invoice sending mean our association ends up doing more accounting work per year than with competitors like Webling. Because of this, we cannot recommend it.

“quite simple for small businesses
Pros
As a small business owner, I find the software quite simple to use. I can easily record incoming bills, create basic customer invoices and sync my bank accounts.
Cons
My accountant is not a fan of the software. He says it's missing professional features he needs to work efficiently. I also have my own list of improvements for a smoother workflow. Plus the platform can be quite slow at times and the connection to my bank account frequently breaks.

“Too expensive with missing features
Pros
The most important features are there but you should also think about the downsides before you decide to get this.
Cons
It is simply too expensive for what it delivers. Core features are missing and pushed to paid partners. For example there is no budgeting at all. Plus the rigid menu makes accounts payable useless for recurring purchases. The reminder system only allows one standard text, which does not work for different customer segments. When you call with problems, they treat you as the problem or tell you to ask your accountant. Last year even our accountant was stumped during the year-end closing. Some promised features in paid modules are misleading as the project reporting turned out to be just a downloadable CSV file. I was billed for one day of use. I have submitted many suggestions over the years and even offered to consult on cybersecurity but I have never received a response.
