it does support the manager!

Pros

Most accounting software is designed with accountants in mind but I found that Manager software is different. It walks you through the bookkeeping process which makes it simple for bookkeepers to use the software to its potential.

Cons

I did like to have an option to link to Excel from the Report Menu but its not a major issue.

Full accounting functionality even in free version

Pros

5 years ago when I was on the hunt for free all in one accounting software, I tested many options. In the end I come to conclusion that Manager software is the best free desktop choice. It includes all the major features a solid accounting program should have. Also it allows easy editing of the chart of accounts, creation of sub-accounts, cost center tracking and the ability to open multiple windows and generate various reports. Editing transactions is simple as well. In my opinion it is the best free option available. For those interested in the online paid version, it offers all the features of the free desktop version. Plus additional accounts and global access all for a reasonably priced within a monthly subscription.

Cons

Manager software lacks some advanced finance features but other than that the software works fine.

It was I needed (considering the size of the business)

Pros

The Summary Page's display looks neat and organized. It lets you group accounts which is useful, especially when shareholders need financial statements that exclude specific account details from the Balance Sheet, Profit-Loss Statement and Cash Flow Statement.

Cons

It does not have a graph to track daily business trends which is a drawback. Also, it does not separate Current and Non-Current Accounts for Assets and Liabilities. While these are limitations, I cannot complain too much given that I am using the free desktop version.

Pros

Manager software desktop version is user friendly and packed with features which makes it a great choice for small businesses like ours.

Cons

There is no option to pay GST online through this software and the cloud version is quite pricey. I would consider purchasing it if it were under $10 per month.

Best small business accounting software with the most features and free

Pros

Well Manager software is packed with great features, it is fully customizable and yet easy and simple to use. The help files are the best I have come across for any type of software as it provides clear explanations of basic accounting concepts that even surpass those on AccountingCoach.com. The chart of accounts is quite useful and pretty simple to design compared to any other software I evaluated.

Cons

Manager software graphical user interface looks a bit outdated. Also there is no automatic connection to banks though that is not very important to me.

Great free accounting software for multiple companies

Pros

Manager software ability to quickly start and manage bookkeeping for several simple but separate legal entities is very useful. Also its price is the most reasonable over alternatives that charge per organization.

Cons

The reporting is somewhat basic and I struggled to find an easy way to import data from my previous accounting system Waveapps.

No nonsense, feature rich, double-entry accounting

Pros

After using MYOB for a long time switching to the Manager software was a refreshing change. It offers a modern interface that makes accessing your data quick and easy. Also it is highly modular which allows you to install only the modules you need, though it comes with a lot more than I require, such as staff and inventory management. It supports GST reporting right out of the box. The support forum is excellent with knowledgeable users and responsive developers. I once reported an issue that the developer resolved on the very same day! Also surprisingly this software is free for small businesses and individuals who do not need the multi-user and networking features of the Cloud Edition which costs $39 per month. The free Desktop version works on Linux, Windows and, importantly for me Mac.

Cons

As a cross-platform app built on web technologies, Manager software lacks some of the OS integration and polish you might expect from a native macOS app. There is no integration with the system Address Book and the Mac menu bar is mostly empty except for basic window management. One feature that caused me a lot of frustration was the custom HTML themes. The default invoice templates were too basic so I decided to create my own using HTML and CSS. However Manager switched to a Liquid-based templating system and a custom PDF generator which only supports inline styles and a limited range of CSS properties. The developer suggested using table-based layouts which was disappointing. They could solve this by embedding Chromium but they chose not to due to the increase in app size. I managed to work around the issues and print to PDF using macOS's print window but it was a frustrating and time consuming process. Another issue is the software's insistence on tracking 'Foreign exchange gains (losses)' for every foreign currency transaction. Since I pay for these up front and do not use credit, this feature seems unnecessary and there is no way to turn it off so you have to manually update exchange rates.

The best value for price I have ever got

Pros

What stands out to me about this software is its ease of use and powerful core functionality. There are no flashy gimmicks or unnecessary dashboards but just strong and reliable features. The fault tolerance is impressive as you can make mistakes and any skilled accountant will be able to fix them quickly. The custom reports, templates and easy to use API (which, despite lacking complete documentation, is popular and widely used) allow for integration and automation of tasks that weren't initially included.

Cons

Everything has its pros and cons or maybe I am just being overly critical. But let me say it that there is no way to lock reference numbers and the billable expenses and manufacturing features could use some improvement.

Very Useful software

Pros

Great stable accounting software that offers everything you need for most companies

Pros

The features I like the most are the systems simplicity and ease of use. It very well handles all aspects of our trading business which includes purchasing and invoicing along with other needs. Manager offers API connection options too which makes it easy for us to manage your own software or templates, such as Excel for exporting data to and from Manager.

Cons

At this point, there is nothing specific that I would like to point out.

User friendly UI with customizable reports

Pros

The best thing is that it is free for a single user and includes all the features needed to manage business accounts. It seems ideal for small businesses. I just installed it this month and found everything I need for my business accounts.

Cons

Manager software free version is not suitable for a medium-sized business because it supports only a single user. Multiple users with different roles are only available with a paid version.

Manager software has it all

Pros

Manager software is free of charge which is great for a small startup business that might not need an accountant in its first year. For them Manager software can handle the bookkeeping. However an accountant might be necessary in the subsequent year of operation.

Cons

During the time I used it, I did not face any issues. Most of the tasks I wanted to accomplish were accomplished by me without a problem.

Manager is powerful accounting software and very simple to use

Pros

I find Managers simplicity to be the best or praiseworthy. It handles all accounting entities and generates accounting vouchers very well. The software is flexible as it allows me to easily enable or disable the modules I need. Importing and exporting data is also a simple yet quick task now.

Cons

The credit/debit note functionality and tracking could be improved. Also when generating an invoice I need to add the client first which could be streamlined.

Easy Bookkeeping

Pros

It was easy to use as I was able to set up accounts and enter starting balances quickly. I particularly liked the 'clone' feature.

Cons

I did not have any problems using it. Its simple to follow and the help resources are easy to understand. It would be great if it allowed for input into IRS forms.

It is a little complex

Pros

I really like everything about this software. Not only it is user friendly but it also offers all the options you need at your fingertips. It simplifies report generation and overall management.

Cons

One issue is that I should be able to enter a customers name directly when creating an order or invoice. Currently I need to add each new client as a customer first. Another issue is with custom fields as adding or editing a tag should be easier without having to navigate back and forth.
