“Saves you a lot of time”

Pros

Handling taxes by country used to take up a huge amount of my time so I'm very satisfied with how it takes care of those calculations now. It also automates the creation of invoices both for tax filing and for sending to clients which has finally made that whole process much simpler. As a freelancer, it has basically become my own private admin assistant, managing taxes, invoices and everything else in one place.

Cons

I only started using it a couple of months ago. Maybe the annual subscription could be a bit more affordable for independent professionals who are just getting started. That said, considering everything it helps with, the pricing is understandable. If your business is already moving a decent sales volume early on, I'd definitely recommend getting this tool because it can save you a lot of time and headaches.

“Broad range of payment integrations”

Pros

Getting it connected to our project was pretty simple and it supports a wide range of payment integrations which was a big plus for us. The technical support team was consistently helpful anytime I reached out. One of the strongest parts is the invoicing feature since we can customize invoices based on our needs while still keeping all the required data in place. The Quaderno Sandbox is also very useful for testing and development work.

Cons

The biggest downside is the limited documentation and overall lack of awareness among developers. That becomes especially noticeable when you need to integrate more than one payment option because clearer guidance would make the process much more helpful.

“handles multiple payment services”

Pros

Makes it manageable to handle multiple payment services like Stripe, PayPal and others. Once the accounts are connected, it takes care of the rest on its side so there's not much extra work needed. It also lets us create as many products as we need for different countries which is really useful.

Cons

API documentation could be better especially for Node.js. It would be much more helpful if they included example implementations for the APIs.

“simple to create invoices”

Pros

Creating invoices is simple and I can customize them with my own branding which makes everything look professional.

Cons

The only thing missing for me is a French version. it would be even better if it were available in French.

“Makes tax filings manageable”

Pros

Running a European SaaS business through Stripe means dealing with a lot of VAT requirements. It used to take a ton of time and involved way too much Excel work but that changed once we moved to it. Now everything we need for our tax filings is available with a single click.

Cons

There's nothing major to complain about. The only smaller improvements I'd like to see are more date range options in the reports and sales views since right now it only goes back up to 3 months and it would be helpful to check YTD sales too. I'd also find Markdown support in invoice line items more user-friendly than using HTML.

“customer service stands out”

Pros

I began on the free plan and moved to the paid version pretty quickly. The best part for me has been the customer support, they reply within hours instead of taking days or weeks and they really stay on top of things to make sure your question is fully answered.

Cons

I haven't run into any real downsides. If anything, I probably should have spent more time reading the tutorials before jumping in because the setup would have felt even more smooth.

“easy to integrate”

Pros

Integrating it with our online platform was very simple and the customer service has been outstanding throughout.

Cons

There are a lot of different documents, products and reports so at times it can be difficult to tell which one is the right one to use for a specific purpose.

“Reasonably priced”

Pros

Tax calculations are simple and the API is reasonably simple to integrate if you're a developer since the documentation is pretty solid. The pricing also fits SAAS businesses well.

Cons

Coming in as a developer I didn't fully understand the full VAT and tax collection process at the start. It would have helped a lot to have more guidance not just on the integration itself but also on how to use it to figure out what to report and where to file it. As a small business owner and software engineer, I also would have gladly paid for phone or screen-share support to make sure everything was set up correctly especially when filing my first tax reports. One issue I only discovered later was that I wasn't collecting IP addresses in a format it could use which turned into a pretty frustrating headache.

“A bit overpriced”

Pros

Syncing with Stripe and PayPal was simple and the platform provides useful tax information for different countries around the world.

Cons

The pricing is honestly hard to justify. Paying $500 for 5,000 transactions is way too much especially for businesses that handle a high volume of small purchases in the $5 to $10 range. At that point, this service alone can eat up 1% to 2% of revenue and that doesn't even include the subscription cost yet.
