Simplified My Tax Workflow

Pros

The variety of tools available is incredible. Using pipelines has helped us automate tons of administrative tasks which saves so much time. Our clients really appreciate how user-friendly everything is and the tagging system makes organization a simple process. Having all these fantastic features in one place is such a game-changer. Implementation was easy and the more we explore, the more we find ways to simplify our workflow even further.

Cons

The main thing I'm waiting for is better file management, right now I have to pick the destination folder for each client separately instead of being able to save multiple files to one folder. Though I have to say, they're really good at listening to feedback and their customer service team is always there when you need them.

Excellent for business efficiency

Pros

I've been using this for both my accounting work and the publishing company I co-own with my business partner. At DoxaNous Media, we found it really helps our authors and clients track progress as we move projects through the pipeline. We're definitely more productive now and can provide a much more personal touch with our service. This platform is way more great than other project management tools we've tried. The applications really are endless, I'd recommend it for any type of business.

Cons

The mobile app can't be white-labeled with our firm's branding which sometimes confuses clients when they see the TaxDome name. Most clients adapt well once they start using it though. Video file uploads aren't supported right now which is frustrating since we often need to share .mov, .mp4 and .avi files with clients. I understand there are security concerns but these common formats would really help our workflow if they were allowed.

Powerful but Complex Setup

Pros

Quite impressed with how comprehensive this platform is for my firm's needs. The lock to invoice feature is absolutely fantastic, it ensures I never send work to clients without getting paid first which has been a game-changer. Getting signatures is easy and the document uploading and sharing capabilities work easily. The automation features are incredible time-savers that simplify so much of our workflow. What I appreciate most is how customizable everything is, allowing me to create different pipelines for various types of projects we handle.

Cons

Setting up and maintaining pipelines is really challenging, probably the most difficult part of using this platform. While the automations do save admin time, someone at your firm basically needs to become the software expert to make sure nothing breaks. I ended up paying WFTP to handle the initial pipeline setup and still have to constantly check that everything's working properly. Task management was my biggest frustration. I spent so much time trying to make it work for our firm but it's just too clunky and makes prioritizing nearly impossible. It was hard keeping track of what we actually needed to accomplish each day, so we ended up investing in a separate task management tool for our internal workflows. The built-in document editor is nice but we really need the ability to minimize that functions/header bar so we can see more of the document while viewing. The proposals could use some work, I'd love them to look more like actual proposals with better formatting, plus the ability to send contracts after client approval. Invoicing has gotten better but it would be great to use recurring payment authorizations with CPA charge directly in the platform.

Amazing For Accounting Practice Management

Pros

The whole system is refreshingly easy and the modern interface feels way more practical than other practice management tools like Canopy and Karbon. Getting started was surprisingly easy, there's a wealth of support articles and whenever I need help, customer service responds quickly. I rely on this daily for our operations and sales tracking. One feature I really appreciate is being able to see how other practices are handling things.

Cons

The file management could really use some drag and drop functionality, it would make things so much more simple to work with.

Decent Features List

Pros

This could honestly be everything your firm needs in one place. You get workflow management, electronic signatures with KBA, client portal, chat features, the works. What I really appreciate is how they're constantly developing and rolling out new features, so it just keeps getting better. Plus there's a really engaged community that shares best practices and helps you get the most out of it.

Cons

Setting it up can feel confusing at first, though the community really helps with that. The portal's 300MB file upload limit works for most stuff but feels pretty restrictive. There's also the typical trade-off with all in one platforms, each feature has competitors that do it slightly better. For me, this was most obvious with proposals and billing, where I ended up using a separate app instead of the built-in tools. To be fair though, that dedicated app costs 3x more than this entire platform.
